One of the more interesting games on the horizon is Romeo Is a Dead Man, the next effort from Suda51's studio, Grasshopper Manufacture.
Announced during a State of Play, the game now has an official release date, and it's surprisingly soon. The game comes out on 11th February, 2026:
You play as Romeo, a man who very nearly dies, but is brought back from the brink, and becomes a multi-dimensional agent tracking down the universe's most wanted.
It's a bonkers premise, but with such stylish presentation, it's easy to forgive.
The game combines melee and guns for some seriously bloody action, though that's to be expected from the team behind No More Heroes and Shadows Of The Damned.
Here's what Suda51 has to say about the release date:
"Now we've won our game of chicken against *cough* a certain twice-delayed 2026 release, we can reveal our cards and confirm we never intended to launch in May in the first place. We're warping space-time to put the finishing touches to ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN ahead of its launch next February.”
So, there you have it. The game is out very soon indeed, and it looks like it'll be a riot when it does.

2026 is shaping up to be a great year for games. The first three months are already getting pretty crowded.
This looks right up my alley
Have been interested in this one ever since the SoP trailer a good few months ago. As usual though, I try not to be too excited about 3rd party games until reviews are published and we know for certain that they are launching in a decent, polished technical state.
Day one!!!
The phrase "all style, no substance" will undoubtedly be used to describe this game upon release.
Can't tell if the awful water physics at 0:51 are intentionally bad or just part of the ambiance?
Way too close to nioh 3 which takes no.1 priority
I have no idea what I just watched, but I know I want it.
I’m looking forward to the 7/10 review that basically says it’s sort of brilliant and also sort of absolutely atrocious, like all of his games. It’s completely necessary in this gaming landscape though, so many games morph into one so it’s nice to have something truly unique.
I wish I was one of those people who can not only look past very clunky gameplay, but adore it. I’d eat up Suda’s games.
Well, maybe this’ll be the exception in which everything works (it won’t be).
This, RE 9, and Nioh 3 in the same month 😔
@Rich33 I think we should expect this game will launch with some performances issues considering it used UE5 and Suda and his team doesn't have a really good track record when comes to launch a game with polished / few performance issues.
What do they mean by ‘Episode 1’?
That’s definitely a Suda51 game, may they never change! Mad narrative, fun and basic retro arcade action, bombastic visuals and kick-ass soundtrack. Always worth a sale purchase
@PuppetMaster
Yeah. I can't say I'm not interested - just very wary until we have something concrete.
This looks so friggin weird and I’m all for it. Gonna check reviews, but I am def in on this one.
Why can't I pre-order this already? Take my money SUDA, please take it!!

Hell yeah, give us something interesting and fun, suda lol
I'm looking forward to this game, but I REALLY wish they had stuck closer to Shakespeare's original play!
