Highguard Finally Breaks Silence, Watch the Launch Showcase Next Week 1

Highguard, the free-to-play shooter that closed out The Game Awards 2025, has been worryingly quiet ever since, but it's finally found its voice.

Over on its official social channels, the game has suddenly sprung to life, announcing a "launch showcase" broadcast that'll go live as the game does on 26th January, 2026.

The showcase will feature "an in-depth look at Highguard direct from the studio, featuring a full gameplay deep dive, year one plans, and much more," answering all our questions before we hop into the game itself.

You'll be able to watch along on YouTube. If you're interested in tuning into the showcase, here's the start time in each region:

  • North America: 10am PST / 11am MST / 12pm CST / 1pm EST
  • UK/Ire: 6pm GMT
  • Europe: 7pm CET / 8pm EET
  • Asia/Oceania: 3am (Tue) JST / 2am (Tue) AWST / 5am (Tue) AEDT

Highguard comes from Wildlight Entertainment, a new studio formed from ex-Respawn developers who worked on Titanfall and Apex Legends.

It's described as a "PvP raid shooter" in which teams aim to control territory across fancy fantasy maps. Little is known about the game at present, but it seems we'll know a whole lot more in a few days.

The radio silence caused unrest among onlookers expecting to learn about the game in the lead up to launch, but it seems we're simply getting everything at once.
