@nomither6 I feel the same way. A new PlayStation feels totally unnecessary. There are maybe 3 or so games that utilize the power of the PS5 Pro. We don't need this.

No question. It's Silksong. It isn't my game of the month, it's my favorite game of the year, possibly the generation. Most games don't even come close.

I think the last Sony game I bought was Astro Bot for this exact reason. I am so incredibly bored with Sony's games. Save for Astro Bot, they have all started to blend together in my head as this dark, brooding, over-the-shoulder action-adventure games... and I think I'm done. God of War: Ragnarok was the nail in the coffin for me. I enjoyed GoW (2018), but I couldn't even finish Ragnarok. It was so similar and had so much bloat that I had to turn it off indefinitely. For me, Sony's first-party games aren't fun anymore. They take themselves waaaaaaaay too seriously without really bringing anything truly new to the table from sequel to sequel. And it's just that, more and more sequels and remakes. I'm pretty sure the PS5 will be my last Sony console for this reason.

I got the platinum in GoT, and I loved it, but I'm just not feeling like hopping into this. It looks nice, but I kind of already got my fill of this world from GoT. Maybe if it goes on a deep sale, but I'm pretty burned out on open-world games in general right now.

@SeaDaVie Sony published between 200 and 300 games over the course of the PS3 generation. Sony has published around maybe 50 games this whole generation, and most of them have been either sequels or remakes. It's been a bummer for me this generation.

@Ainu20 Are great as some of those games may be, 7 games in 2 whole years isn't great. Compared to Sony during the PS3 generation, it's a significant step down.

I don't entirely disagree with this. As a gaming company? No, I don't think they're terrible. As a publisher? Boy-howdy, this generation has been rough. Maybe one to two original games a year... maybe? It's been slow at best, dead at worst.

I've been playing it, and quite literally my only critique is that the benches should be a little closer to the bosses. It is better than I could have imagined. The atmosphere, combat, art direction, music, movement, characters, enemy design, everything. It's incredible.

Here's an idea. What if you let that 10% make the next Sly Cooper game? Crazy, right?

I hope this is good, but I'm not getting my hopes up up very high. If this game does something genuinely different, that would be great. If it's just another Sony over-the-shoulder action-adventure game with button prompt action cutscenes, then this will definitely be a pass for me.

British Uncharted. Yawn

I cannot for the life of me get excited about this game. It just looks like another 3D action-adventure AAA game. I don't know if I'm just getting old, but these games all look the same to me now. This looks like Uncharted, and Metal Gear Solid, and Hitman, and Indiana Jones... It's all so boring to me now.

@Nalim Or for the days when they even released video games... like, at all. Haha! It honestly blows my mind that Naughty Dog released Uncharted 1, 2, 3, The Last of Us, and Left Behind all within a single game console generation.

I absolutely loved this game, but I have a very difficult time going back to it. I platinumed the game, and I don't really see any reason to go back to it even though I loved it so much.

Literally anything other than GoW Ragnarok.

@johnedwin I'm not going off of user reviews. I'm going off of my own experience playing each of these games.

@johnedwin On the contrary. I love a good sequel if it brings added value to the story, characters, gameplay, and experience. I loved The Last of Us Part 2, Persona 5, Rift Apart, the Uncharted series, Guacamelee 2, and Tears of the Kingdom because those games felt like a significant progression and evolution from the previous games. In contrast, one of my least favorite games of this generation is God of War Ragnarok. For me, if felt like I was playing the exact same game again but with worse pacing.

I'm going to need to wait for reviews for this one. If this game differentiate itself enough from Ghost of Tsushima, then yes, I'll be interested. But if this ends up being just more of the same (like God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and Spider-Man 2) then I'm going to have to pass on this one.

Could have avoided it? Here's an idea. Cut a few million dollars from the salaries of the heads of Xbox. Boom. Funding found. It's a miracle.

Where's Mario Kart?

I've never played a Kojima game, and, honestly, with how much everyone talks them up, I've pretty much lost interest in playing any of them.

But it is cheaper than PSVR2, because you don't need to own a console to play games on the headset.

What in the world is going on with Sony this generation? This is wild.

Pour one out for any gaming coming out this week that isn't on Switch.

It makes me sad to see Persona 3 Reload so low, but it makes me SO happy to see Unicorn Overlord so high on the list.

I must be doing something wrong, because I don't know if I've ever had more buyer's remorse with a console than the PS5. It was fun for about 2 years, but then Sony pretty much stopped releasing first-party games except for played-out sequels and spin-offs, and then they brought everything to PC anyways. Astro Bot and Rift Apart have basically been the only games I've cared about for the PS5. My advice? Take your money, get a device that gives you access to Steam, and get a Switch. You'll be able to play pretty much every game that's on the market, including Sony's games.

I think the vast majority of people who are interested in this game are waiting for it to go on sale, myself included.

For me, it's that price tag. This game will be around $20 in a year or two. I can wait.
