Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4

B_Lindz

It kind of bugs me when people hop on here and say, "Oh well. I didn't play CoD anyway." You don't understand. This could honestly be the beginning of the end of the console wars, and Microsoft is looking to become the final winner. Sony really may become solely a software developer and only release their games on PC. There's no competition when one company owns them all. This sucks so much. I wouldn't be surprised if PS5 was the last PlayStation-made console.

Re: Microsoft Buys Call of Duty Publisher Activision Blizzard

B_Lindz

I don't play any of the CoD games, but this is going to have huge repercussions if this deal isn't blocked by the courts. CoD has almost always been one of the best-selling franchises on PS consoles. This could be a huge hit to Sony's pockets if Microsoft makes CoD and Xbox exclusive. I don't see why they wouldn't.

Re: Hands On: The Matrix Awakens Is an Unreal Demonstration of PS5's Power

B_Lindz

@RBMango I played through the demo last night and, personally, I did think it was quite impressive, but not necessarily earth-shattering. However, I started to think about what games could look like if the art direction was less about photorealism and more about focusing on a stylized art direction, like Breath of the Wild or Kena. If a game was created with that style in UE5 then I think the outcome could be mind-blowingly beautiful and could easily run at 4k 60fps.

Re: Fan Clamouring for Assassin's Creed Origins 60FPS Update on PS5 Continues

B_Lindz

I'm not big on AC games, honestly, but I wish developers would do more to support their games on current-gen consoles. It blows my mind that games like Hollow Knight, Tomb Raider, and Journey are locked at 1080p, and games like Gravity Rush 2, Crash Bandicoot, The Last Guardian, and Concrete Genie are locked at 30 fps. All of these games should be running at a flawless 4k 60fps, or at least 1440p 60fps, on the PS5. It's an absolute shame, really.

Re: Talking Point: Is Sony Being Stingy with PS5's First-Party Pricing?

B_Lindz

@Nem @Nessisonett @GADG3Tx87

I apologize. I should have clarified. I live in the U.S., so the price difference is much smaller. Switch games are $60 while PS5 games are $70 at full price, but Nintendo games almost never drop in price. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (which came out this year) just dropped to $50 at some stores while games like DK: Tropical Freeze (which came out in 2014) dropped to $45 for Black Friday, which is the lowest that price has been all year.

I'm very sorry that the prices are higher on your side of the world and I think that Sony should make those prices more even from currency to currency.

Re: Talking Point: What Were the Best PS5, PS4 Hidden Gems of 2021?

B_Lindz

Spiritfarer is a masterpiece. I'm not even that far into the game and I've already cried several times and grown to love every character I've met so far. I have to be careful of when I play this game because I lose all sense of time while I'm playing it.

And yes, I know this came out last year, but I didn't get around to playing until this year, so it's a 2021 game for me.

Re: Poll: What Game Will Win at The Game Awards 2021?

B_Lindz

Even though it doesn't deserve game of the year, Deathloop is probably going to win. I mean, come on. Does Deathloop actually hold a candle to games that are actual games of the year, like Breath of the Wild, The Last of Us: Part 2, God of War, and The Witcher 3?

Re: Best PS4 Fitness and Health Games to Exercise with and Lose Weight at Home

B_Lindz

@dimi I could not agree more. Ring Fit Adventure is a masterpiece. I've been playing it about 4 to 6 times a week for 20 to 40 minutes a day for the past 2 or 3 months. It's incredible. I feel so much better, people tell me I'm in a better mood than I was, and I think I've actually lost some weight. I've been trying to find an exercise routine that works for me for years and then I finally found Ring Fit. 10/10 would recommend.

Re: Feature: PS5 Report Card - How Is It After One Year?

B_Lindz

I, miraculously, was able to get a PS5 earlier this Summer. I love it. Spider-Man Remastered was a masterpiece. Rift Apart blew my mind. I'm really excited for where this console is headed.

However, my biggest grievance with the PS5 is not the hardware or Sony; it's with developers and publishers not making their games run at their best on the new hardware even though the PS5 could absolutely run the games at full power with ease. Hollow Knight? Locked at 1080p. Gravity Rush 2? Locked at 30 fps. Okami HD? Locked at 30 fps. Tomb Raider? Locked 1080p. Rise of the Tomb Raider? Locked 30 fps. You get the point.

I have a PC with a Radeon RX 580. It's a decent card, not great, but what I don't understand is that all of these games that I just listed run better on my RX 580 than they do on the PS5, and the PS5 should be blowing my GPU out the effing water. It's really frustrating, honestly. It's my one gripe with the console and it's not even with the console per se.

Re: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep Loots Standalone PS4 Release

B_Lindz

@huyi I don't think you could be missing out more if I'm being totally honest. I haven't missed a single free game since Epic began giving games away. I have claimed, and I'm not making this up, over 230 free video games from Epic Games. Most of it isn't even shovelware.

Some of these games include: A Short Hike, Abzu, Celeste, Create in the Well, Thimbleweed Park, Hyper Light Drifter, Into the Breach, Mutazione, Night in the Woods, Rime, Sonic Mania, SuperHot, The Messenger, The Wolf Among Us, This War of Mine, World of Goo, Yoku's Island Express, Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair, A Plague's Tale Innocence, Alan Wake, the entire Batman Trilogy, every Borderlands game except 3, Oxenfree, Rayman Legends, World War Z, Control, Alien: Isolation, and GTA 5.

Yeah. You're missing out.

Re: Video: Which Call of Duty Game Is the Best?

B_Lindz

In all honesty, I have never touched a CoD game before. I'm sure they're fun for people to play, but I guess I don't understand. I don't see the appeal of waiting in lobbies, shooting nameless characters with your somewhat nameless character, and doing the same thing over and over. I mean, it's one of the most successful video game franchises out there, but I have no desire to play any of these games. I would much rather play something story-driven and makes you really feel something. I'm sure there are a couple of CoD games that do that, but I still think it's a pass for me.
