I could not possibly care less about GTA 6.

@LogicStrikesAgain I think it's going to be a REALLY hard sell for the vast majority of games to convince them to spend $1,000 on a system that will play almost the exact same games.

@LogicStrikesAgain You won't have to. No one HAS to have the latest and greatest hardware to play 99.9999% of games. Here's the reality of the gaming industry right now. Most studios can't afford to make games that won't run on modern hardware. If they can't afford to make a game that can only run on next-gen hardware, then current-gen hardware will be able to. Think of it like this: if a base PS5 can run GTA 6, and it can, then everything else less graphically intensive than GTA 6 will also run on a base PS5, or even a Switch 2, for heaven's sake. I can run the vast majority of my Steam library on my Steam Deck, and even my Retroid Pocket 6. New games can and will run on current hardware.

You are fine with what you already have if you own anything that can run a video game.

@wildcat_kickz Imagine a PS5, but with slightly better graphics, worse customer relations, and fewer games. That's probably what a PS6 will be like, since that was basically the difference between a PS4 and a PS5.

I don't know what's dumber, buying a $1,000 PS6 (especially after the wet fart of a generation that the PS5 turned out to be), or going into debt in installments for a $1,000 PS6.

I was late and didn't play it until just a couple of years ago. It's easily one of the best games I've ever played. It's so good that I've gone on to play several Atlus games, and I can't wait to play the P4 remake and P6. I've also played several JRPG that I wouldn't have if P5 hadn't taught me how much I enjoy that style and pacing of game. The art direction is perfect, and I've used it several times as a reference for my students at the university where I teach a graphic design class.

Those who are not excited for Ball X Pit are those who have not played Ball X Pit.

All of the good will between Sony and their customers has been completely obliterated at this point. This is too little too late.

I think the thing I'm most excited for with GTA 6 is that people will finally stop talking about GTA 6.

@EVIL-C I wholeheartedly agree. I'm done with Sony, too. I've stopped buying games on PlayStation, and the PS5 will be my last Sony console. For me, it's just Steam and Nintendo from here on.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that GTA VI and Toem 2 are targeting two very different audiences.

There's only one way to get Sony to stop this. Vote. With. Your. Wallet. Don't buy the PS6. Don't buy any more games on PlayStation. They will keep doing what they are doing so long as we give them our money. No amount of online complaining will get Sony to stop the trajectory they are on.

It's amazing. You were able to name every possible feature Sony will never implement.

My wife is HOOKED on this game. She's been playing it on Switch, but I bought this right away on PlayStation. Now she can play it with whichever controller she picks up.

I think the people in this chat forget that we are the very vocal minority. The majority of gamers probably have no clue this is even happening.

I think there's only one way Sony will actually feel the heat, and that will be from how few people will move from the PS5 to the PS6.

There is absolutely no conceivable situation where I buy a PS6. At this point, there could not be a greater waste of my money.

Selling Crossworld for $70 was a massive mistake on SEGA's part. It also came out around the same time as Mario Kart World. If SEGA was smart, they would have undercut MKW dramatically, and then they would have made Nintendo look even worse with an $80 price tag. Imagine if Crossworld was $40. It would have sold substantially better.

I think that this is the actual console war. It's not which console is better, it's which console's developers can survive their terrible management and publishers.

If you like games that look like Unreal Engine action games, then you probably lost your mind during this show.

@For-Kier Anyone into gaming will buy whatever they can afford the play the games they want to play. A PlayStation is just a box, like any other gaming device, that allows people to play game.

I forgot this was even happening. Save for any indies and Atlus games that might get announced, I couldn't care less.

I cancelled my PS Plus subscription a couple of years ago, and I haven't regretted it even once. It was a total waste of money.

@Slayer25c I did read the article. Sony's main focus is third-party games, and I'd much rather play a third-party game on Steam or Switch 2 over PS5. Sony comes out with exclusive games maybe once or twice a year, and of those I'm either not interested or they end up on Steam anyways.

For this very reason, the PS5 will be my last PlayStation console. I think Steam and Nintendo will be my only gaming platforms moving forward.

I really enjoyed Uncharted 4, but the pacing needed some work. It was too long. Uncharted 2 was literally perfect. The pacing, the story, the action, everything. I was an unbelievable experience.

Online rhetoric is so annoying. It seems like many people want attention, so instead of saying the game isn't for them they use hyperbole and scream "THIS IS THE WORST GAME EVER AND IT RUINED MY LIFE!!!"

This comment section really underestimates how much people are already financially struggling right now.

I feel like we all saw this coming from a mile away. I think this is why this generation will be the longest... possibly ever. Games that require the latest and most powerful hardware are too expensive to make anyway. Frankly, the most innovative and imaginative games these days are usually coming from little indie studios, and their games can usually run on a paper weight. This, plus RAM-ageddon, and AAA gaming is going to either need to completely change or it's going to become a thing of the past.
