@Slayer25c I did read the article. Sony's main focus is third-party games, and I'd much rather play a third-party game on Steam or Switch 2 over PS5. Sony comes out with exclusive games maybe once or twice a year, and of those I'm either not interested or they end up on Steam anyways.
I really enjoyed Uncharted 4, but the pacing needed some work. It was too long. Uncharted 2 was literally perfect. The pacing, the story, the action, everything. I was an unbelievable experience.
Online rhetoric is so annoying. It seems like many people want attention, so instead of saying the game isn't for them they use hyperbole and scream "THIS IS THE WORST GAME EVER AND IT RUINED MY LIFE!!!"
I feel like we all saw this coming from a mile away. I think this is why this generation will be the longest... possibly ever. Games that require the latest and most powerful hardware are too expensive to make anyway. Frankly, the most innovative and imaginative games these days are usually coming from little indie studios, and their games can usually run on a paper weight. This, plus RAM-ageddon, and AAA gaming is going to either need to completely change or it's going to become a thing of the past.
Genuinely, it's such a waste. Most games that use ray-tracing will look dated in a handful of years anyways. Games with a clear, stylized art direction are going to look timeless. Games like Journey, Hi-Fi Rush, Persona 5 Royal, and, heck, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, will look just as amazing now as they will in 20 years from now.
I just looked, and there are currently 51,000 people playing Marathon on Steam right now. I wanted some context, and there's 59,000 people playing Helldivers 2. That is kind of alarming to me seeing as how Helldivers 2 came out 2 years ago.
Austin Evans made a video earlier this week about the RAM shortage and how one of the most cost-effective ways to game right now is by getting a PS4 or a Switch Lite.
Oh, I forget. Star Wars is the most beloved franchise of all time with absolutely no controversy and the most supportive and kind fandoms of all time. What could possibly go wrong...
Sony is currently winning the home console space. If Steam wants to enter the market, they are going to need to price this quite aggressively against the PS5.
@nomither6 I feel the same way. A new PlayStation feels totally unnecessary. There are maybe 3 or so games that utilize the power of the PS5 Pro. We don't need this.
No question. It's Silksong. It isn't my game of the month, it's my favorite game of the year, possibly the generation. Most games don't even come close.
I think the last Sony game I bought was Astro Bot for this exact reason. I am so incredibly bored with Sony's games. Save for Astro Bot, they have all started to blend together in my head as this dark, brooding, over-the-shoulder action-adventure games... and I think I'm done. God of War: Ragnarok was the nail in the coffin for me. I enjoyed GoW (2018), but I couldn't even finish Ragnarok. It was so similar and had so much bloat that I had to turn it off indefinitely. For me, Sony's first-party games aren't fun anymore. They take themselves waaaaaaaay too seriously without really bringing anything truly new to the table from sequel to sequel. And it's just that, more and more sequels and remakes. I'm pretty sure the PS5 will be my last Sony console for this reason.
I got the platinum in GoT, and I loved it, but I'm just not feeling like hopping into this. It looks nice, but I kind of already got my fill of this world from GoT. Maybe if it goes on a deep sale, but I'm pretty burned out on open-world games in general right now.
@SeaDaVie Sony published between 200 and 300 games over the course of the PS3 generation. Sony has published around maybe 50 games this whole generation, and most of them have been either sequels or remakes. It's been a bummer for me this generation.
@Ainu20 Are great as some of those games may be, 7 games in 2 whole years isn't great. Compared to Sony during the PS3 generation, it's a significant step down.
I don't entirely disagree with this. As a gaming company? No, I don't think they're terrible. As a publisher? Boy-howdy, this generation has been rough. Maybe one to two original games a year... maybe? It's been slow at best, dead at worst.

I cancelled my PS Plus subscription a couple of years ago, and I haven't regretted it even once. It was a total waste of money.

For this very reason, the PS5 will be my last PlayStation console. I think Steam and Nintendo will be my only gaming platforms moving forward.

Re: Saros (PS5) - Housemarque at the Peak of Its Powers with Its Best Game Yet
I do find it hilarious that Push Square, true to form, gives a Sony-published game a 9/10 when they almost never give anything above an 8/10.

Who on earth would ever want this? These corporations are not your friends, and you don't need to share your image with them.
