In the end, our public poll wasn't even close. Death Stranding 2 won the vote by an absolute landslide, and although some may argue that there wasn't a whole lot of competition, it's still difficult to see past the sheer quality of Kojima Productions' sequel.
Close to 800 votes were cast in the aforementioned poll, which was published last week right here on Push Square. These were the top five PS5 games of the month, according to the community:
- Death Stranding 2: On the Beach - 545 votes (72%)
- Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army - 65 votes (9%)
- Rematch - 56 votes (7%)
- The Alters - 33 votes (4%)
- Date Everything - 15 votes (2%)
The first Death Stranding was a bit divisive given how weird its world, writing, and even gameplay systems could be — and we're sure that Death Stranding 2 will face the same kind of love-hate response.
But as we keep saying, the sequel really does build on just about everything that its 2019 predecessor introduced; it's an often staggering achievement across the board.
