@MFTWrecks So, I have already Platinumed the game with the dualsense controller, so not really.
But I think you're missing the point of my post. I was able to play Astro's Playroom with the Steam Deck. That's insane because the Steam Deck was capable of replicating the touch pad, gyro controls, and rumble. Granted, the rumble and adaptive triggers aren't as good as the dualsense controller, but being able to play the game without sacrificing much is crazy. Sony's own game streaming app can't do the touch pad or gyro without syncing a dualsense to your phone or tablet. The Steam Deck could.
@AdamNovice This app won't, but there's an app called Chiaki that you can use. I got Chiaki up and running on my Steam Deck last night and it works incredibly well.
I got remote play working on my Steam Deck last night so that it has rumble, gyro, and touch pad capabilities. It's not perfect, a few frame hitches here and there, but I was able to play Astro's Playroom without any problems.
Am I crazy or are runner games getting slower? I feel like the character running in runner games run at a slower pace than they didn't when they got really popular back in the early 2010s. I tried the Sonic runner game a couple of months ago and it, of all things, felt so slow and empty. This looks similar to me.
I think I might be in the minority here, but each trailer that I see of Hogwarts Legacy makes a little less interested in the game. I keep circling back to how all of what they have shown will all be tied together with compelling characters and storytelling and I'm just not seeing it. I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong.
I was about to write, "I think it's time for this game to quietly die off," but I just looked it up, and, apparently, there are still over 100,000 people playing Overwatch 2 at this moment... I had no idea that Overwatch was still this popular. I'm honestly shocked.
**Spoilers** @Ambassador_Kong Okay, I'm not crazy. Someone else thought of this too. I just watched this with a few friends and as I was driving home I was like, "...but if that whole episode didn't happen would it have changed the plot?" Yes, the episode was beautiful acted and Nick Offerman absolutely crushed his performance, but it didn't move the plot forward. The letter got to me, too. A little too much tell, not show.
I think what caught me off guard the most was that Bill told Joel to protect the ones he loves, but in the game he told Joel not to get to attached to others. The episode had a beautiful message, but thematically it was kind of off the mark.
I'm surprised to see some of these games on PushSquare's top 10 of the year because it felt like just about every game that came out this year got a 7 or an 8 out of 10 from PushSquare other than Ragnarok and Elden Ring.
I just don't understand. I thought the whole point of console gaming was to provide a way for gamers to play without having to spend the astronomical prices PC gamers need to pay to build their custom rigs. I guess those days are long over. Like, who is this for? This is basically only for the upper-class who make 6-figure incomes. I guess the rest of us can go screw ourselves apparently.
I played the first hour and a half of Requiem and absolutely loved it, but I've decided to wait for a patch. I'm cool with 30 fps, but the stuttering and screen tearing was to the point that it became distracting for me. I'm sure Asobo is working hard to optimize their game for PS5, especially after how much effort they've put into the dualsense functionalities. I look forward to playing the rest of their game in the future.
I may get a lot of crap for saying this, but sometimes I enjoy 30 fps over 60 fps. It really depends on the game. I care a lot more about a locked and consistent experience over 60 that stutters at times. I find that action games, like Doom, Rift Apart, Returnal, and Horizon, feel much better at 60 fps, but cinematic games, like RDR2, TLoU, P5, and GoT, feel better at 30 fps. Consoles handle motion blur incredibly well, so locked 30 fps can feel really nice if devs take time to perfect the motion blur in their games. However, 30 fps looks like complete garbage on PC. Anything below 60 fps on PC looks and feels terrible.
Thank goodness they did. Nier: Automata is one of the greatest games and stories I have ever played. I have bought it for several of my friends who have all had their minds blown.
You'll quickly find that not only did the PS4 struggle with early games to have a locked 30 fps or locked 60 fps experience, you'll find that almost all titles for PS4 could only target 30 fps or target 60 fps. Hardly any games actually had a locked frame rate for the entire gen.
@JAMes-BroWWWn That's not how it works. There is way more going on behind the scenes during development than the devs just deciding for a game to not be 60 fps. The games you names off are completely different. None of those games run at native 4k 60 fps. Second, those games were all first party games, so they weren't worried about optimizing for other systems. Third, some games literally can't run at 60 fps, like Okami HD, because the animations were directly tied to the frame rate. Fourth, depending on a game's art direction, different levels of realism and detail require far more graphical resources that are beyond the PS5's capabilities. Developing a game is far more complicated than you're making it sound.
Look, even the 3000 series Nvidia cards couldn't handle most 3D current-gen games on ultra at 4k 60fps. PC and consoles are getting there, but we're just not there yet for the mid-range gaming market to consistently hit 4k 60fps for everything.
Honestly, who is this game even for? It has hardly any differences from the first game except they're just slapping on all the baggage that comes with playing a "free" video game. This game just feels like neutering with extra steps.
As much as I love P5, I'm kind of hoping that this 3rd release completely bombs so Atlus can learn it's not okay getting away with this re-releasing s💩💩💩
@LIMA I thought the same thing too until I tried VR. It's shocking how fast our brains get tricked into what is and isn't real when you put on a headset. These screenshots already look great, but, once everything is in motion, this is probably going to be one of the most immersive VR experiences to date.
Here's the thing, I would like to see Assassin's Creed even ATTEMPT to hold a candle to the storytelling of Ghost of Tsushima. Almost every single encounter in GoT tied back into the overarching narrative that you were becoming the Ghost. It was beautiful. The ending left me speechless and in tears. I played it a year ago and I still find myself thinking about it.
Seeing all of the 1/10 reviews remind me that, even though TLoU series are the greatest games I have ever played, I won't touch the fan base with a 10 ft. pole.
Just...how? I fail to understand how TLoU: Part 2 is 84GB, H:FW is 89GB, and RDR2 is 111GB while this, which takes place in an indoor arena, is sitting at 143GB.
When all is said and done, I still have no idea how on earth GamePass will be sustainable over the coming years. Something is going to have to give and I think both Microsoft and Sony know that. The cost of making games continues to go up. In some way I am with Sony on this one. It doesn't make sense to make a game for (something) over half a billion dollars and then put it on GamePass for $15/month. It's only a matter of time before Microsoft raises their prices and then it'll end up being more cost effective to just buy a game for $60-$70.
The game looks fun, but I am so confused by this game's art direction. This game looked like it had a different art director for the character design, the menu UI/UX design, the logo's typography, the trailer's typography, and the environment design. I mean, look at the menu screen at 1:13 in the video for example. The UI on the left, middle, and center look like they were designed by 3 completely different designers. It's just bizarre, honestly.
I'm not suprised by this at all. There are so many factors playing into this stat. With the pandemic slowing down in parts of the world and with worldwide inflation, people don't have nearly as much time to game. The supply chain is still in a complete mess. With personal obligations and needing to make money, I have gamed less this year than I have in the past 5. Also, people don't have a lot of extra income to buy games.
It's going to take a stupid amount of time to recover from the past couple of years.
I think, in the end, I've learned something about myself. The Last of Us is still my favorite game series and, without a doubt, I want nothing to do with The Last of Us community. They are almost as bad as the Star Wars community at this point, IMHO. In some ways, they're even worse.
I love The Last of Us, but if this rumor is true then I'm not going to be buying this until it's $20 or less, preferably just playing it when it comes to PS Extra.
