VR Saints Row sounds awful but I've always liked the idea of a game showing the formation of the Kings with Julius and Benjamin. Don't see it happening though, Saints Row is dead. Maybe we will get ports of the older games in the future but that's it.
I understand they wanted a game to keep a steady income for them while working on the big single player games, but as a massive Remedy fan, this looked boring from the reveal so I never gave it a shot. The only thing that kept my interest before launch was the hope that they could use it to give small pieces of lore that hints toward the next big projects but they were just in the loading screens and was very little. That killed my interest. A Remedy game without the writing just doesn't do it for me.
I imagine that Forza Horizon 5 is still selling well, so they want to give it a bit more space to get more sales before launching this on PS5; it could also be the port started late so they need a few more months. I do prefer getting this than 5 though so I'm hoping the wait is like Indy.
On one hand, if this is a modern port of the PC version, great. It's one of the best games of all time.
On the other hand, I thought what they've done to the visuals is awful. It's not that I'm against changing the look but I just think it looks worse in some areas. I'd prefer just a straight-up port of the PC with how it looks on that but it could just be the trailer. I'll keep an eye on it.
I thought it was fine. Happy to see Wolverine and my boi Spartacus playing him but nothing major outside of that and the metroidvania book looking game for me.
@Stepan With a fighting game, I imagine they will want to keep an active player base, so offering an upgrade is worth it to them. With something like Yakuza, I could see them not offering an upgrade and releasing it for £40 or something. Obviously it's just speculation from me and I'd love to be wrong. We'll see when they announce it.
Everything I've heard about it is bizarre. The additional cutscenes aren't great, I don't care about the English VA and I heard no one talk about the online co-op. The main reason I'm interested in it is because I want a native PS5 version of 0 but if they are charging full price for that, I'm going to hold off. This really should be a free upgrade or a £10 upgrade but I don't think SEGA does that.
Loved 3 but when they started porting it to other platforms, a friend of mine couldn't get through it because of the combat so this would be idle for someone like him. RGG is my comfort series so I'm always going to pick them up even if I dislike one, since I will likely enjoy the next.
It was a couple of years before I was born but it's something that I remember always having, it was the PS2 launch that I remember more but before then I spent a lot of time on it. Great console but the PS2 is still the GOAT to me.
Great gameplay, uninteresting open world, story has potential but isn't fully fleshed out and rushed, it's so obviously unfinished that the game ends up being okay for me. If that gameplay was used in the style of the earlier MGS it could have been a masterpiece.
The first game is one of my favourite games of all time and when this was announced I was ecstatic, then I followed the development of this mess through the years... calling this Bloodlines is an insult; it looks like an entirely different game to the first and this is just the cherry on top.
Borrowed it from a friend and finished it in two days, but I really enjoyed it. The knife fights and how restrictive the missions are were the only negatives I had, along with a certain part of the ending. Everything else I enjoyed. I hope it does well because I would like them to make another in the series that is a bit more open like Mafia 1 and 2, but this was a very pleasant surprise. Low 8/ high 7 for me.
Love Control and replayed Max Payne 1 and 2 last year which I still adore; so I'm excited for Remedy. FBC isn't fun and I'd be surprised if a future update brings life back into the game.
This sounds good to me, a solid story but not overly long with passable gunplay. From the sounds of things, it's the performance of it on the PS5 I'll have to wait and see; I'll likely get it on discount anyway in a few months, so I'm hoping it's fixed by then.
Barker and Bradley are back and making a Hellraiser game? Perfection. The Hellraiser series is mostly trash outside of Barker's work, so I'm happy he's involved; the world he created is one of my favourites in horror.
The things they are selling like character customisation and quicker progression are indeed fun, that's why they were cheat codes 20 years back Ubisoft, you greedy corporation.
The highlight of this generation is definitely the short or instant loading times, but it all depends on the developers and how they optimise their games. Also, please don't make a mandate to use the same engine for every game, that can turn bad really fast.
I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility, Sony was interested in the Fox sale before Disney got them and was in serious talks with Paramount before Skydance. With Warner splitting into two companies, it's obvious they are setting themselves up for a sale. Does that mean Sony is going to acquire them in the end? No, but I'm sure they will be interested, even outside of the gaming space. HBO alone is probably interesting to Sony.
I'm pretty sure that's not true. People have uploaded videos of the THPS 4 levels and the Pro Goals are things like get a Platinum Score, Collect COMBO etc. London has Grind the Full Southbank Lights Gap, Impress the Pro Skaters and Collect Stompy Plushies; 5 extra objectives won't cover all the goals, never mind the more silly ones.
Maybe they are talking about some other Pro Goal list, but I still believe that the THPS 4 side of things is under-delivering. THPS 3 looks great, but it's still not enough for me to pay full price at launch when it's a glorified map pack for 1+2.
If it doesn't show up at Xbox then I imagine they will announce the release date at the Tokyo Game Show for an early release next year. That's what I'm hoping anyway.
I'm down for that, it's not something I've thought about but GoW fits that style well. People will not be happy, I'd announce it alongside a more traditional God of War but I don't care, this sounds good.
I'm excited for it, but since it's still a tech demo, I'm going to hold out on believing the full game will be constant 60 on base PS5. When the game does release, it'll likely be a cross-gen game with PS6 anyway. Does look great though graphically.
I really like the voices in Golden but I'm not surprised. I was more surprised they got Troy Baker back for Catherine: Full Body since he didn't return to voice Kanji after Arena, guess being the lead was worth it and it was just a few new lines and not an entire rerecord. Gonna miss the old voices if true, but I'm sure the new ones will be fine.
The marketing was really off-putting for me and SNK games have a soft spot in my heart since my first fighting game was The King of Fighters EX: Neo Blood on the GBA. It will likely be on PS+ sooner or later so I'll play it then.
Not surprising, the way Sony handled the PC launch wasn't the best and Arrowhead Studios didn't exactly hide their disagreements. Best thing for the studio and Sony might lose the devs behind their best performing live service but it's not like Sony are going to be hurt from it.
£45 is a great price. I enjoy the Mafia games, but if it were £60, I'd likely get it later. Now, after waiting to see the state it launches in, I'm considering getting it close to release.
We know Fallout 3 is planned from the leaked documents, so I'm hoping when that comes out they can give us a New Vegas remaster soon after. Frame rate issues and crashes aside, I enjoyed the Oblivion remaster.
Not that surprising, they haven't touched that IP in years, even though an animated Sackboy series that lasts for about 3 minutes an episode would probably be a nice way to get kids interested in the franchise. Hope they return to it one day, but there are other games I want to see revived more.
