@Th3solution I read somewhere that save transfers won't be a thing. For that price, it is definitely worth a try. Some of the mechanics you might find annoying, it does things that people either like or hate but I loved it, and hopefully, you will too.
@Th3solution It will follow the previous game heavily. You play the same character from the first and many of the side characters are returning too. A lot of the plotlines are left hanging at the end of the first so I would say play that before the second is released, if you have the time that is.
Yeah, Ghost of Tsushima is very Ubisoft in the first place but it does a lot of the Ubisoft stuff better so why wouldn't it inspire them? Makes sense to me.
Forgot this got the emulation treatment. Loved Thrillville on the PS2 so if the PSP version is basically that then I'm going to download this for sure.
Kingdom Come Deliverance II. Loved the first and can't wait for the second one. DA Veilguard I'm mixed on, though the re-reveal trailer sucked everything afterwards has been better. However, Inquisition was reviewed well, so I picked it up near launch and it was the worst in the series for me, so I'm going to hold off a month or two after release to see what my mates say about it.
I don't care about Concord, not my type of game which is why I don't talk about it. But the people I know who enjoy this type of game say it's generic and forgettable and it shows. The number of people streaming and watching this was abysmal. If it's not interesting to the people who enjoy these types of games then who is it for? I hope it does well at launch but I've got a strong feeling that this will end up with more mass layoffs for the year.
Love the first game and Water Parks will be a great addition. The creative side of things is fantastic, I'd love it if the management side had more depth in this one.
20th Anniversary next year. Got Yakuza 0 and Kiwami for the 10th celebration. I wouldn't mind another prequel game. Just hope it's better than Infinite Wealth, might be a hot take but that's my least favourite in the series.
My little interest in this has been knocked down even more by this trailer. The art style, tone, the awful Bowie cover, the cheesy character introductions. Rough first glimpse for me, hopefully, the gameplay will be good.
I don't think it's a big deal. It will do well on Switch I imagine and if releasing games like this on the Switch means we get more games like this then I really don't mind it.
@Dman10 DE is just the phone version with messed-up visuals. The best version of the game is either the PS2 original or emulation (which you can't get any more on PS4/5) or PC. If you want to play the best visual version it depends on what you like. I think DE is ugly and goes against the original art style but I'm sure some people like it, PS2 had some nice assets that weren't ported to other versions. PC is the best since the missing assets from the PS2 version can be modded in, and decent mods do what DE should have, by updating the graphics but keeping the same style.
I said before, remaking Black Flag is a no brainer. Skull and Bones flopped so resuing that tech for a remake of a beloved AC game makes sense. The OG AC is the game that needs a remake the most. It could even be in the style of the later AC games since OG AC had pretty big areas, so if they can connect them all they could easily make it like the Origins type games which I'm not a big fan of but they are the most successful in the franchise.
Sure, I believe it's slated for 2025, but that doesn't mean it will launch then. I think 2026 is more likely, and 2027 will be FF7 Part 3. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see it happening...
I've come to the realisation when it comes to Bethesda games. I enjoy them for about 40 hours, then I get sick of it so I do the main quests and factions to get to the end. Every time I try to revisit any Bethesda game for another replay years later I get bored after a couple of hours. Something about their games where revisiting them just doesn't do anything for me.
I can't believe it's releasing this year. Over 6 years since the first. I'm sure it won't be for everyone like the first game but if it's an expanded version of what we got before then I am ecstatic.
I wouldn't worry about the Final Fantasy games leaving. Give it a few months and they'll reappear again, it used to happen a lot with certain franchises back when PS Now was a thing.
Isn't this obvious though? The whole point of live service games is that they hook you for as long as possible, and if you are one of the earlier ones, you've got them already. The amount of time these types of games expect from players means at most you will be swapping between two or three live services and unless a new one does something incredibly different, why would you move on from the one you've invested the most in?
That's why when companies plan to launch multiple live service games it makes no sense since they are diluting their games by dividing the time players invest into multiple titles, which results in people being more fine with dropping a game after a certain amount of time. When that happens the funding slows down which in turn means less content, which results in more players dropping and the cycle continues until the game dies. It's like the MMOs from the early 2000s, you invest in the big ones and the rest tumble.
I'd like them to take a shot at a Sci-Fi RPG. If it's another fantasy game like Divinity or BG3 I won't complain, I'd still enjoy it but that's what I'd like to see.
I loved the Persona series but with the amount of BS that comes with the DLC and rereleases, I haven't touched any new Atlus developed game in years. They make quality stuff, but I can't stand their business practices.
I absolutely adore it. The characters and the banter between them are so good, it's been an absolute joy to play through. The gameplay is great too, building off the already great foundation from Remake and I've enjoyed all the mini-games. The only slight is some of the lighting and texturing but the art style itself is gorgeous which makes up for it. After I finish it I'm going to replay it. Looking forward to the final part in a few years and if Square are willing to revisit 6 or other older FF games in the series and put the same amount of care in remaking them, I would love it!
I don't get it, they don't look that bad. It's just the teeth I think that make them look off, but it's not something I care that much about since the next main FF game will have a completely different design like all mainline FF games do.
Never got into Dragon Ball which is something I've always wanted to give a better shot at but you can't deny the impact Akira Toriyama has had on video games and manga, hell comics in general. Just look at Shonen like Naruto and One Piece, along with countless others that are obviously inspired by his works and the different games influenced by the art style of Dragon Quest. The guy's reach and talent were insane and is deeply saddening that he passed.
I'm tempted by it, but I'm waiting until the launch to see how the performance is and I will likely still be playing Rebirth when it releases. I need my dose of Galactic Conquest, great stuff.
It being a AAA single-player shooter wasn't the problem, it looked dull and had poor marketing. They shouldn't be spending that much money on any game that is the first for a studio, it's ludicrous.
I replayed Search for Reptar a couple of years ago, the camera was so awful but if they are doing ports... give me a PS5 emulation collection along with Studio Tour and In Paris. I need more dancing Reptar in my life.
I don't really care about Starfield, it's just something I wouldn't play unless it was free on PS Plus but if this is true then I have no idea what Xbox are doing. I hate it when companies purchase other companies and the rate that Microsoft has been doing it is insane but now it's rumoured multiple of their exclusives are going multiplatform. What was the point in the last few years of consolidating? It hasn't even been a decade since they started all these purchases, did they think they'll make their money back in a few short years? Why would they even think that?
If I was an Xbox owner I would be annoyed, promised all these exclusives and it turns out they aren't. Personally, going multiplatform is good for me but now the only benefit to having an actual Xbox console is to get games day one on Game Pass and I've always found that an idiotic decision which made Microsoft lose a lot of potential income. I wonder if this will be the last gen for Xbox consoles. I could see Microsoft shifting to the multiplatform and streaming hardware side of things. The day I can play Halo 3 and Fable 2 on a PlayStation is going to blow my mind...
Great showcase, I can't remember the last time they showed so many games I'm interested in. Nice variety along with games releasing soon and a year away. Hopefully, they keep this kind of standard for future ones (the exception being the one-game showcases like FF7 Rebirth). Very happy.
It feels weird when it comes to LAD: Gaiden, I've been a fan of the series since the original PS2 games and my reaction to Gaiden is different compared to others. I agree the final chapter is good but the overall story is meh, it's ranked in the lower half of the series for me. If anything the final chapter shows how the rest of the game could have been amazing if they had more development time. Out of the list of games my favourite story is probably Spider-Man 2 since I haven't gotten around to playing the others yet, but I spent most of my time playing Spider-Man with a huge grin on my face. I had a great time with the story.
What I always liked about the LAD games was how the map size for Kamurocho was perfect for everything you need in the game. I found Isezaki Ijincho pushing it when it came to size so I'm not particularly happy to hear the new one is even bigger. That doesn't mean it won't work, I haven't played the new game yet but when I'm told something is bigger it doesn't mean it's better.
After Inquisiton, Andromeda and Anthem my hopes are low for Dreadwolf, especially with the amount of people that have left during the development over the years. However, I'm still excited for the new Mass Effect. The team behind it is solid and if they can give me a great story/characters and keep the open-world aspect of Andormeda away, I'll be happy... so I'll see everyone in 4+ years' time where I'll be massively disappointed.
Borderlands is owned by 2K, right? So even if Gearbox becomes a first-party studio that wouldn't make Borderlands an exclusive series but I could be wrong.
This is a damn shame, Volition might not have been that great in the last decade but they made some of my favourite games. Saints Row 1 and 2 I love, and the Punisher game and Red Faction games I also enjoyed greatly. When they said the studio was going to help Gearbox I knew the end was nigh, and it's finally happened. I wish the people that worked there well.
I'm confident that if this is true the only reason they are remaking ACIV and not the other games is because they know Skull & Bones is going to fail financially and they want to reuse the tech developed for that into something they know will sell; it's smart and I'd play it.
I haven't enjoyed the WWE games for years. This looks like it's got issues but it's also more in line with what I want from wrestling games. This is also coming from me, who enjoyed Wrestling Empire more than any other wrestling game in the last 10 years.
Also, the original Alan Wake never got enough traction to get an immediate sequel, and the remaster didn't sell Gangbusters. Do they think keeping it digital only will help them? They are mad.
I was thinking about preordering it, but now it's digital-only I'm going to wait for a steep discount.
