So glad I didn't watch it
Other than Re9 tease, not great.
Could have been a lot tighter show, at least SoP didn't drag on that long.
Poor, not enough interesting games and way too long for me. Should have been 40 minutes tops.
First 1 hour 55 mins was dire but 10/10 for the final 5.
You mean Summer Snooze Fest.
I'd rate it 4/10 and the it only gets a 4 purely because of Resident Evil 9. The SoP blew that out of the water.
That RE9 announcement swooped in and saved this.
Awful, they could have saved us all 1h55 and just shown the RE9 trailer
Nice. Too many cool looking games as usual💸⏳️
RE9 and Mina the Hollower (and DS2 if you want to count that) were literally all I cared about. If it wasn’t for the State of Play, I’d be wondering if I’m not the demographic for gaming anymore. This was truly bad for most of it. I usually like Geoff’s showcases too, as corny as they can be.
RE Requiem and Mixtape were the highlights for me but yeah it was pretty damn boring and made me miss E3. Don't get me wrong i love Indies and AA games but other then RE Requiem that's all the show was unless you count a cutscene from Death Stranding 2.
Being honest State of Play was far far better and had better reveals (RE Requiem aside). I expect MS will crush it on Sunday at least though.
Awful showing, RE9 saved it (Would add Onimusha, but we have already seen it before)
Hands down one of the worst ones, by far, so many gacha games and games that will be forgotten in a week but hey, RE9 looks great!
very poor glad i only saw the last few minutes..
RE9 & Century only two i got excited for~ rest was either on State of Play or old~ (or not for me)
@Oram77 Right? And for a moment, I didn't even think they would show RE9, I was fuming.
I’m a very big AAA game player only
RE9 was it for me.
Honestly it was poor.
I understand it has to cater to a large audience. Hence the dragging it out.
But the pacing was slow, the trailers were kind of all over the place. Very little actual ‘big’ reveals.
I think Xbox will have the best showcase of the 3.
Only 2 games that interested me fully. Even then, RE9 was so weird with how they did an announcement at the beginning for a Capcom sale & and announcement in the middle that RE9 was still in development. Even the big game announcement ate up so much time.
There were a few interesting announcements, but they are almost buried by other stuff. If you would combine your personal top 5 trailers into one video, then it’s great!
But ai first have to find out what my top 5 are (will include RE9).
All that hype for just one or two games interested me
Now that is what you call a bad show lol. The 2 big ones for me Code Vein 2 and RE9
The show is just way too long with so many similar games that are hard to distinguish from each other. It really needs more variety in terms of genres.
Besides RE9 and some interesting small games I might buy on a sale there wasn't anything to get excited for. It was probably the worst showcase I have seen in a long time.
Probably the worst last year was so much better no ff9 remake, phantom blade 0 3/10
State of play was 100% better lets hope xbox delivers with p4 remake
3/10 - it was dreadful.
It was nothing but dozens of Souls clones, cartoony/anime action rpgs, online shooters and low budget indie games; none of which interest me.
I'm being cautious with RE9 because I hated RE7 and Village. I really hope it's not 1st person or open world.
Playstation state of play was way better. Nioh 3 for the win.word up son
There were some cool trailers like Mortal Shell 2 that I didn’t expect but what else. An Atomic Heart sequel that’s years away, an RE trailer that told us nothing but the game exists / when it comes out and a lies of p dlc drop.
Usually love Geoff’s inherent nonsense but he needs to do game awards and save it all up for that.
Didn't vote b/c I'm not a PC gamer and this seems very PC gamer focused.
The one-two punch at the end of Stranger than Heaven and Resident Evil Requiem saved this from a "very poor" score from me.
Absoutely terrible, I get not every year can be full of bangers, but this just made me realise theres tooo many games being released and most of them are junk! Thank the gaming lords for Atomic Heart 2 and RE9
Wonder when they're going to announce the new god of war if is supposed to release this year?
Forgot it was broadcast today. Sounds like I didn't waste time watching it. 🎉
Just spent 5 minutes watching the RE9 part. 🎉
Today I win! 🎊
This is the first time I'm a bit down on the show. I'm usually fairly chipper about it, on contraire to what people post on the internet. I try to take an optimistic look at the games shown, but this was basically and indie fest, with 2-3 big games mixed in. Geoff should've set expectations for it earlier.
That was a complete waste of time.
Honestly, I'm grateful that the 2D GoW wasn't announced here.
It was a load of multiplayer slop and incredibly similar looking fella-with-sword-fights-demons things, but it did have a banger Resident Evil trailer at the end so yeah I'm okay with it.
Honestly other then the puzzle games, or respecting some it was so bad. 1/10.
Multiplayer slop with style over substance, soulslikes, fair metoridvanias, stylish slop horror woth less substance, pass.
Atomic Heart 2 is cool, RE9 cool, Sonic/Rattan marketing everywhre to get noticed.... good games but we know about them, yeah not much and a lot of garbage Indies.
Fair tactics.....
Fair tactics games at Future Games or puzzle/fair slime action game there too but otherwise eh.
The trend approaches these days are not exciting of.gameplay or themes as prior trends.
Same inspiration/brain cells/mentality in games these days, irs concerning...
..
Multiplayer slop with marketshare already clear by audiences, so more multiplayer failure articles in the future, can't wait to laugh at them. Sigh. I shouldn't have to but they set themselves up for it.
Bland party games Muppets (could have bern a decent Conker type game but nope) or Lego a decent party game I guess.
Audiences or creators are on another plane of existence I just don't care about. Good for them. Nothing for me.
Other then Rhyrhm Heaven Groove or Tides of Annihilation or prior shows decent games I have no interest in 3rd parties besides the puzzle games look cool at this show and Future Games Fest/Xbox will be just as garbage.
I will say the State of Play will be better then everything else here, may the other shows.
So far I am correct, not a hard/high bar. Less but balanced, others bloated, repetitive design and forgettable.
Puzzle/adventure games look great and those types shown aren't that much my thing of puzzle game format but looked great/respectable.
Action/beat em ups/soulslike hirror/RPGs/slop shooters looked bland as ever.this year.
Yeah future games fest was better then last year, few decent but eh.
Gaming is done, audiences are hmm they target and us hardcore that view them aren't that audience.
It made me realise how good the live playstation show was years ago. Im not too interested in all these steam betas ect. Capcom saved it for them. Bring back sonys live events.
Well 2 hours and not a single game that interests me was impressive.
I thought RE9, but from the trailer i am guessing it will be first person, so it will be another skip from me. :/
The state of play was much shorter and had much better reveals. 😅
Some really exciting things announced. Namely the two coop games, Resident Evil 9, and Ill. But overall for me it was just “good”. It’s gotten to the point too many games are indiscernible from each other. Seems like every other announcement we’ve been getting the last few years is either another dark, action rpg, or some Japanese anime weeb game.
I experienced more hype for my annual prostate checkup
Not great. Seemed to be an abundance of multi-player games, many of which I expect will have a very short lifespan.
With Xbox owning half the game devs nowadays and wanting to do their own thing and sony having pretty much nothing thanks to the swathe of cancelled live service guff and so had to prop up their own poor SoP with 3rd party stuff there wasn't much left for Geoff which is why it felt more pc centric than ever.
Jurassic world evolution 3 was probably the only surprise announcement I would genuinely want to play day 1. New drinkbox game looked sweet.
Sadly, it was pretty bad.
I'm excited for DS2 but holy, did Kojima really need to be on stage to present a small CLIP, with a big stream just days away??
RE Req is day 1 for me. Some of the small indie games looked great.
But a huge emphasis on MP/Live Service games and even some literal "here's update 1.x" trailers really broke the board for me.
Apparently, I’m the minority this time, but I really enjoyed this one. There were far more games that interested me than usual. Plus, a zombie baby got punted across the room, that automatically made it a 10/10, for me.
What a load of garbage, the only game i was interested in was the fighting puppet one and its only on pc and no way would my old ass pc run it,hopefully xbox will save the save the day with a halo announcement, we know its coming.
@PapaGlitch as an older gamer I found this funnier than maybe I should , it made me chuckle 😁
I did enjoy the Spiltgate guy trying his best to be the next Joesph Farris.
Oh, and how they followed up WuChang with WuTang😅
@Jswift56 yeah sonys live shows where a spectacle , i miss those , i also miss xbox live shows , they where so awkward,it was hilarious.
How did they not show any playable footage of 007 yet they brought out a Hollywood actor to announce a limited two month only Hitman contract ?! Infuriating madness
@SuntannedDuck2 who was that idiot with the baseball bat , who said his game was f**kin awesome ? It really wasn't 😂
That was a rough show, though what I was hoping for the most was a release date for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds which happened. September is very packed.
@BusyOlf yeah i love mads , wonder how much they paid him
Where were all the Summer Game Fest exclusive games?! I didn't spend $500+ on the SummerGameStation just to play.... ugh.... multi-platform games!!!
@TheKurgan you truly did win , I award you the not wasting your time medal , congratulations 😂
I only wanted to see SF 6 season 3 characters and RE 9 and i got what i want. But it also has Onimusha with Sasaki Kojiro looks cool with Oni gauntlet + a new Scott Pilgrim.
So I give it an okay, 6.5/10.
Outside of resident evil and whatever the hell that yakuza game is called It felt like geaofffefest was playing the same three trailers on repeat for two hours. Rated it poor.
Oh well tainted grail has just got a new patch , so I'm gonna see how many crashes I can get before I hit the land of nod, but yeah everyone should play this its fantastic , wheres my review push square 😂
@get2sammyb where the tainted grail review im gonna keep going on about it you know 😂

Epic
I wasn't able to watch it, but based on the announcements, it looks like it was good, but the State of Play was better.
Poor. Just as bad for me as the state of play.
Xbox has an open door to kill it at this point. Considering the switch 2 launch is garbage unless you are an industry schill.
I didn't watch.
I don't even like any games announced after I found the other article mentioned the games announced.
@KundaliniRising333 I just bought myself and my daughter a switch 2 , she wanted one she's a big fan and it was her birthday , im kind of regretting getting myself one though 😂
Only 2 game that was hype the rest was boring
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I think that might be a given most years from here on out. For Keighley, the show is for profit which means ramming it full of ads and paid trailers. Which means for every dcenet reveal it's got to pay the bills with Gacha trailer money etc....
Whereas Sony just don't have the volume to do the big showcases they used to, at least not every year.
Leaving Xbox with the winning combination of a large volume of 1st party reveals, that also don't need to worry about filler, and paid ads, as they're funding the show themselves. Further compounded by Sony not doing their own full showcases making it easier for them to get 3rd party marketing rights, like for the Persona Remakes and Methaphor.
The next time we see a truely competing showcase could be the inevitable end of PS5/PS6 launch line-up showcases. As the end of one gen and the start of the next had always been when Sony clusters their releases the most.
@lazarus11 🏅Thank you!!! 🥳
Didn't get chance to watch live. Just ran through all the news here, and im glad I didn't watch it - only RE9 and Onimusha really took my interest.
Oh and Lies of P DLC, but we knew it was coming and I really dont know if I can start it - my current save is post end game credits (Good ending / NG++).
It was a snooze fest, though I did add a few games to my watch list.
Fantastic show, prob about a 9/10
Looking forward to Lies of P and Resident Evil 9.
Sony is definitely coming away from this game show period as the winners, had a banger SoP and pretty much every game at Xbox's show will be coming to PS5 as well. Geoffs show aside Playstation gamers have a lot to look forward to over the next year and half, we eating good.
Low mid show. 4/10
Total snoozefest without RE9. That alone made it worth it.
If you aren't a fan of souls likes or Hades likes there was maybe 10 minutes worth of stuff to watch. State of Play was WAY better in way less time.
Can't get my head around how come this show is being considered worst than yesterdays' SoP here..
It was not an amazing show but it was decent compared to previous years and last SoP!
At least made me add a much bigger number of games to my list of interest:
Resident Evil Requiem
End of Abyss (Little nightmares devs)
Out of Words (Split Fiction like coop game)
Lego Voyagers (Split Fiction like coop game)
Atomic Heart 2 + The cube
Mortal Shell 2
Mixtape (maybe)
Lies of P DLC
Dying Light: The Beast (very close release date)
ILL
From yesterday SoP:
Silent Hill F, maybe 007 and that was it.. (never liked Nioh)
Wow this blows Sony's event away. its great to see actually game that use the PS5 to max or better than PS4 footage. Still working thru the games on youtube but 2026 is going to be great.
I thought the event lasts until the 9th of June. So no more reveal after today?
My highlights were
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
Atomic Heart 2
Resident Evil 9
Street Fighter 6
Some indie games looked cool like Felt That but no PS5 confirmation yet.
@fatewalker Tbh I've been the same except I can't get my head around how people thought the SoP was bad.
Hooo man if it wasn't for Scott Pilgrim, Stranger Than Heaven, and RE9, I'd say complete waste of time as far as brand new game announcements are concerned. Overall very poor, though I expected as such when Sony had one of, if not THE best, State of Play streams beforehand.
Same as most people, without stranger than heaven, onimusha, re9 the show would have been straight a%$. Mortal shell 2 did peak my eyebrow, first game was just okay but this looks like a step up which has my curious for now.
there was some interesting looking co-op stuff in Out of Words and Lego Voyagers. And MIO looked kinda interesting too. But a lot of dull soulslike, JRPG and team shooty games. Everyone hyped for Resi Evil but I have struggled a bit with the last 2 - just personal. Looks good though.
I feel like I watched different events to everyone else
SoP was a 7/10
SGF was an 8/10
Neither were amazing but SGF certainly had a lot more interesting reveals (especially RE9 and Lies of P DLC)
I forgot most of it. The only ones I remember were Stranger than heaven, Sonic racing and what else, I forgot lol. Ah wait, I remember a blade and soul game and there was a seven deadly sins I remember, but no gameplay. Oh yeah Lego party. And killing inn.
Regardless, it was better than that State of Play.
I've seen worse
I love it. Atomic Heart II, ILL, Onimusha, and Stranger than Heaven are must-have games for me. 10/10 easily.
It was pretty forgettable tbh. Only game that piqued my interest was iLL. That was one one the best looking games I've seen this gen.
Sucked until RE9. Then was 10/10.
I kinda assumed that between the State of Play or SGF, Wolverine would show up again for a solid update. But it was a no-show. Not sure if that's cause for concern. Insomniac deserves a ton of faith though, so I guess we'll see. Feels weird to say since the reveal was like 3-4 years ago, but... just gotta be patient.
I'm surprised by the reaction to this, particularly in light of how positive a lot of people were about State of Play. They were pretty equivalent to me. Geoff got better reveals, State of Play was much shorter and had less slop - not much in it though.
At this point, as long as Phil Spencer doesn't come to my house and punch me in the kidneys its hard to see how Xbox can possibly not have the best show this week.
I'm looking forward to playing these 15 games, will buy them during big sales in a few years.

I voted 'Okay' and already wrote my opinion in another thread before seeing this thread🙈
Onimusha looked great.
Great to see Atomic Heart II (I have a trial on Plus for the first game waiting on me).
Downloaded Death Stranding because it is also on PS Plus.
Dying Light: The Beast after beginning to enjoy DL2 (which is seemingly never ending), this caused a small spike of joy seeing 'more of the same'.
RE9: only reminded me to actually finish the VR versions of 4 and 8.
Hitman: Sorry, too much content to actually make it too your game's limited time window. Looked very badass.
Ill (ill): I thought this was Resident Evil. But very cool dismemberment and body horror stuff..
Didn't like all the souls-like games! or gacha-stuff.
I didn't watch it. Almost all of the highlights for me were in games I already knew about.
There was a lot to skip for me. It only took me half an hour to watch the show xD
P*ss poor show
Woke up this morning and saw all uploaded trailers on my feed yep knew not to waste my time on Geoff's garbage show RE 9 was the only thing of worth announced I can't imagine sitting through nearly 3 hours of that s**t for one good announcement
Went downhill as soon as Kojima stopped all momentum with that god awful trailer than explained nothing and just sucked the life out of that great initial trailer for Mortal Shell
@somnambulance Couldn't agree more - I was left wondering why I was watching endless repeats of the same looking game and thinking I don't like videogames. Granted not everything will be for everyone - and there were 3/4 announcements which did interest me - but this selection needed to be far shorter and far better curated. Even the bloody RE9 reveal was prolonged lol. That would have been great in an hour long showcase - not an overly long snooze fest like it was last night. Respect people's time!
Then I remembered there was a lot in the SoP which I am looking forward to.
But that's 2 hours of my life I'm never getting back again.
@Odium yeah I quite enjoyed it too. Probably because I have quite a wide taste in gaming.
Sonic racing brought me back to all stars racing transformed days ,
Lies of p dlc (remember when people were interested?) ,
More from Yakuza franchises ,
Code vein 2 (I liked the first anyway),
Re9,
Jurassic park SIM 3 (the other 2 are popular)
Atomic heart 2 (I'm only mildly interested as the first wasnt the best),
Onimusha always a win for me,
Lego party I'll probably get on sale as mario party is never known sale,
Dice of destiny ill probably get to play with my partner and my younger brother
And I know I'm forgetting others I was interested in when they were shown off. I don't particularly care for all the overhype in the big franchise games like GTA or the over the top cinematic games I see paraded a lot (death stranding frankly bored me too much too fast)
So much better than the state of play
I felt like it was simply unnecessarily long. SGF could be edited down into a 40 minute Direct type video. Keighley's Keynote?
There was some cool stuff and we got some dates for stuff, but I don't understand the need for a live event for this calibre of announcements
State of Play was better...
I couldn’t do it after the first 45 minutes or so. I just came back and read an article for the rest. Nowadays between my wallet and my backlog I’m actually not as upset when there are smaller number of games of interest.
Hello there fellow gamers;
I give it a solid C+
It had some interesting announcements, for sure like:
All and all, good enough for me I guess.
And there is more to come during Xbox Showcase. Can´t wait.
Cheers everyone and happy gaming
It's so funny to see contrast in comments. Even though pacing was off and it went on for too long it was still better than SoP at the end of the day. I can't wait to play at least 5-6 games and I look forward to see the reception for other 5-6 games.
ILL
Acts of Blood
End of Abyss
Atomic Heart 2
Marvel Cosmic Invasion
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Stranger than Heaven
and of course RE9 were my favourites.
@bring_on_branstons Yeah, it’s sort of weird, but, yeah, the show felt like a draining, droning hypnosis of “gaming is not for you anymore” for long stretches of time. Not to yuck someone else’s yum, but seriously I know a lot of people in all different age groups and I don’t know who is getting excited from THAT showcase! I mean, the comments section here is either disinterested in the showcase or saying, “Well, if you trim more than an hour off the showcase, you can make it a pretty good one.” Lol
I’m just hoping Future Games Show and the Xbox Showcase are more for me. Usually, I sort of question why I watch FGS year after year, but you gotta E3 somehow these days. Hope there’s a Nintendo Direct soon too.
Btw, Geoff Understood the Assignment and It Was Brilliant! Am I right guys?
Day of the Devs was much better.
@Kierant202 I completely agree with you. I don’t need to see the massive AAA games, we’ve seen so many of those to a point of over saturation. I want to see new games and smaller projects. The Lego It Takes Two style game looked fantastic and charming. I didn’t play Atomic Heart but the new one intrigued me. The Metroidvania they showed looked really fun and I love the genre, so more is always good. I’m not as into RE as most people but that looked great. Onimusha stole the show for me, that looked so damn good! Not everything there was for me, but I thought it was all around really good.
SoP was better but SGF ran into 2 problems: leakers talking about games or potential announcements that are no-shows (because they're at Xbox) or they're not showing up at all so people's expectations are through the roof.
2nd thing is that while ppl love buying and playing their indies, people want the heavy hitters with these showcases: your RE9's, your Bloodborne remake (also stop asking for this, holy crap), your Half Life 3 (lulz!) your Silksongs. It's like going to a musical band concert and only wanting to hear the hits but then complain they don't play b-sides anymore. Dumb analogy I know.
@lazarus11 I don't remember I would have to look it up.
But yeah he has the attitude for it, but proving it is another story XD
Never seen so many FPS games in my life
I saw a fairly lengthy list of games, but when perusing them, I don't think I'm really sold on any. It seems like a whole lot of filler. RE9 is an interesting one, though. Can't say I'll play it, but I will keep an eye on it.
It was good for me as there were 10-15+ games I was interested in, that’s enough, but also wasn’t the best, few of them were “must buys”.
