Fans of the legendary Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series have been a little conflicted about the upcoming remake of 3 + 4 due to structural changes to the more open fourth instalment, but it seems that nearly all of its content will at least be included in the package.
To recap, THPS 3 + 4 brings back the third and fourth games in one package in much the same way as seen in THPS 1 + 2.
However, the difference this time is that THPS4's open-ended structure is being retrofitted to the two-minute timer format featured in the preceding titles.

This has caused concerns among fans, as the game's stages were built for a more sandbox approach and are considerably larger than levels in previous games; players are worried the two-minute format will therefore be an ill fit.
Many also assumed that some of the game's wackier objectives (which wouldn't work within the two minutes) have been cut.
However, as reported by VGC, almost everything in the original will be included in the remake after all.
Those more unusual missions are being relegated to the remake's Pro Goals system. Once you beat a stage's initial 10 objectives (SKATE letters, combo scores and so on), more goals will be unlocked, and it's here where those sillier activities will come into play.
It was also revealed a while ago that you can adjust the timer to be up to an hour long, so the two-minute sessions can be significantly extended.
The only thing that won't be included are THPS4's minigames, such as playing tennis.
Still, while the structural changes are still there, at least the vast majority of each level's activities are intact, which is good to hear.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is due out on 11th July 2025, and a playable demo is out now for those that have pre-ordered. Are you excited to play this one? Tell us in the comments section below.

Playing the demo now, buttery smooth 120fps cant wait for full release as it was mostly thps1 and 2 i played back in the ps2 days. Wish Matt Hoffman's would get redone 👍
I'm worried for Underground remake.... like a lot.
Ha I forgot about the playing tennis with a skateboard bit. So random
@Jrs1 I was thinking this about Matt Hoffman the other day when I was playing it on psx classic. Would be great to get 1 & 2 in a remake package or even a DLC for THPS. I just don’t think they’d sell anywhere near as much as THPS though and that would stop them from making it.
I'm pretty sure that's not true. People have uploaded videos of the THPS 4 levels and the Pro Goals are things like get a Platinum Score, Collect COMBO etc. London has Grind the Full Southbank Lights Gap, Impress the Pro Skaters and Collect Stompy Plushies; 5 extra objectives won't cover all the goals, never mind the more silly ones.
Maybe they are talking about some other Pro Goal list, but I still believe that the THPS 4 side of things is under-delivering. THPS 3 looks great, but it's still not enough for me to pay full price at launch when it's a glorified map pack for 1+2.
@Oram77 Agreed. The fact they added 2 minute runs to THPS4 makes me worry they will do it to Underground too
@Cres_Waven1 Yeah i know, the series wasnt as popular but i was a mad bmx'er back in the day so loved them and the dave mirra series.
@Jrs1 haha same, I played Dave Mirror 1 recently and it wasn’t as good as I remember, Matt Hoffman still played great though.
@Clogalis 2 mins on any underground map will simply not be possible.
4 not being open sent this from "day one" to "deep sale". Baffling decision.
As someone that thinks the Tony Hawk franchise started going down hill with 4 I'm looking forward to playing it with the classic 2 minute formula.
Yeah, this is one of those games that I still might enjoy playing somewhat (for THPS3), but can't justify rewarding the developer for... So I'll wait 'til I can snag a copy on eBay for $15.
I consider this the protest vote of the gaming world.
Does this include things like the Snake Run Slalom though? That just fully does not work in the timed format but is one of the most iconic goals in the series.
I'm also a bit worried because of Pro Skater 4, that it won't fit as great 1+2 did.
@Jey887 100%.
I played 1 & 2 a lot and the death outta 3, then life got in the way and I never even bought 4 until a couple of years ago. Still haven't played it though... So I'll be right regardless. The demo is pretty good and they certainly picked the right backing tracks, even if the audio is a bit thin...
