Do reviews even matter for far cry for most people? I buy it because it’s far cry, and don’t expect it to be something revolutionary. I just want brainless fun.
Sure it wasn’t the greatest show. But compared to Nintendo and Xbox, it had far more games shown that I will play.
Nintendo only had Metroid and BotW2.
Xbox had… Stalker 2 at E3, and nothing from the HALO campaign (I’m not interested in multiplayer)
PlayStation has Wolverine, Spider-Man 2, God of War, Kotor, Forspoken
So I personally definitely highly disagree with above article. To me Sony delivered most.
Meanwhile my Switch is catching dust and my XSX is starving for good games.
Was wondering yesterday if I should get it because I kind of got nothing else to play that interests me.
This hands on might just have me get it tonight and play a bit!
Sony could have asked $30.00 for the PS4 as well and I bet nobody would have had an issue, except maybe that for some it may feel a bit too steep (but we don’t know how big that DLC is).
Imagine you would have to pay extra on PC just because you got a stronger GPU that can also do more AI, and you also got a different controller similar to DualSense.
This is very bad practice. Either offer both versions for $20.00 or $30.00, but don’t make PS5 customers pay more.
I think it should be Ghost of Ikinoshima (literally Island of Iki, or Iki Island), because Ikishima is a super small island somewhere in Shikoku and I got confused for a moment.
Currently playing through it again (this time in complete Russian voice+Text). I absolutely love the global illumination and the small DualSense usages. They help a lot with immersion
@KundaliniRising333 the game is simply not optimized at all at this stage. Sometimes raw power can’t give you good frame rates when the game engine may have too many inefficiencies and memory leaks.
I think this is pretty much an alpha built, maybe even pre-alpha. I think they just want to see if the “idea” behind the game will be received well, and if the only complains are the graphics and dialogs, then I think this is a very good sign. It’s the gameplay they got to nail at this stage, and I think they did.
The game seems to be really far away from release and it shows in this demo (release is in 2022?).
But gameplay wise it is fun so far. And the music is great!
Just something seems to be extremely wrong with the image quality. As mentioned before, it kind of looks like a PS3 game running on 4K. Same grey/sepia-ish tone with missing sharpness.
I guess it can only get better from here. I’m happy to buy it day one if they manage to make it look better on a 4K screen.
I never have an issue switching between 60fps and 30fps. I get used to “slower” within just seconds. But I can’t really get used to “blurry” on my 4K screen.
So for me it will be Fidelity. I also played spider-man in fidelity mode and had zero issues.
You will have flying mounts on both consoles, but if you try to ride it on PS4, it will just pop up a screen for you to order a PS5 in order to continue the ride on PS5.
I follow this page for the sake of news but sometimes it’s quite annoying how much you guys like to unnecessarily bash games.
Objectivity is definitely not a strength on this page.
I loved the demo. It’s like a B-movie. And a lot of people who love looters really like Outriders since it gets the loot right so far compared to all the other failures out there
I’m confused why everybody is acting as if this is the first time controllers have drift issues.
I have 3 dual shock 4s with drifting. My XSX controller has drifting. My switch controller has drifting. So far my DualSense has no drifting but I expect any controller to have drifting issues if unlucky.
Back in the day I had multiple N64 controllers with drift issues.
The only real workaround I see is making the dead zones more configurable.
@Gremio108 I feel it’s the other way around. Having long loading times after dying is super frustrating for me. As if the death itself was not punishment enough.
I was one of the people who had multiple issues with my external SSD drive. The PS5 always tried to repair it and couldn't boot up from rest mode without me unplugging and plugging in the power cable again.
Since the firmware update I have no such issues anymore. Everything now runs perfectly fine.
1. It’s again the vocal minority that thinks it is not enough space.
2. Because of how the SSD was integrated i don’t think they could give us 1TB, the next higher possibility would probably be 1650GB (because they would have to increase all 12 chips and I’m not sure they can just increase it how they want, but may have to double it). And that would have maybe meant $100 extra for the console and the vast majority of players not using that space at all.
To me it makes perfect sense why it’s 825GB. It fits the majority of players while keeping the cost of the console still low but the SSD speed high. And if you are in the minority, you can later still expand it to your own needs, maybe even cheaper than as if the console shipped with higher storage.
I’m probably in the minority who doesn’t care about any Bethesda games at all recently.
All I see is that they are apparently bug ridden and of low quality. id Software might be an exception, but I usually don’t feel like brainlessly running around ripping and tearing. I need a bit more meeting to games nowadays.
I liked wolfenstein a lot, but Youngblood was just bad IMO. I never managed to get warm with Fallout (I only tried Fallout 4 and 76 and got bored too quickly). I did enjoy Skyrim back in the day, but it wasn’t some kind of revelation to me. Just a plain good game.
Maybe my expectations are too high after playing countless of amazing PlayStation exclusives? Not sure, but I get the feeling Bethesda games are missing something essential.
I found absolutely nothing confusing about the original wording.
Some people seem to just ignore certain details of a sentence and then jump into crazy assumptions.
"Please be aware that voice chats in parties may be recorded and sent to us >>>> by other users. <<<<"
@Grayjedi13 exactly. As someone living in japan, what is far more annoying is that it’s inconsistent between games. That has to be fixed once and for all, I don’t care if they do it by forcing the western or the Asian way to achieve that.
Once again I think westerners will complain far more about this than us in Asia. As it always seems to be.
Fact is, many games already have it swapped. So it’s better to have it standardized.
Edit: reading through Japanese comments, they seem largely fine with it. Because the most played games (fortnite and apex) force you to use x = confirm and o = cancel.

Re: 'Huge, Story-Driven' Assassin's Creed Infinity Is Not a Free-to-Play Game, Says Ubisoft
Current AC games already feel like they have an infinite length. So no thank you.
Re: Soapbox: Some Games Assume You Know How to Play Them, and It's Kinda Weird
I just either go press every button to see what it does, or I look at the control scheme in options.
Re: Sony Plotting Investment into Billion Dollar Chip Factory in Japan
Yeah, right. Let’s build a factory in one of the most disaster-prone parts of Japan. What can go wrong.
Re: Far Cry 6 (PS5) - The Best Game in the Series, Sort Of
@fR_eeBritney there are bows in the game.
And the AI never knew exactly where I am unless they directly saw me and where I ran to + sound of my running or sound of my gun.

I buy it because it’s far cry, and don’t expect it to be something revolutionary.

Re: Chaos! Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Schedules TGS Showcase for This Saturday
Enjoyed the demo despite its PS3 graphics.
Definitely looking forward to seeing how it looks now.
Re: UK Sales Charts: New Releases Like Tales of Arise Selling Best on PS5
The game also currently sits at 9.3 in user score on meta critic. So far players love it.
Re: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Features Cosmo the Spacedog in New Story Trailer
I do like what I see but after avengers I rather wait for reviews first.

Love it that you guys are also posting JST times. Saving me the time to figure it out myself!
Re: Far Cry 6 Sure Does Look Like Far Cry in Latest Previews
To be honest, the only reason I will play this is because I want to see Espositos performance.
Aaaand I want to blow some stuff up.

Very nice so far. Got it preordered now.

I got it on PC, but I will get it on PS5 as well now just to play with the DualSense features.

Uff, happy I expected some issues like that and went with the Xbox version instead. I’m playing on a 4K screen.
Let’s hope they resolve that quickly though. It appears at least they will follow up with an actual next gen update anyways.

Re: Returnal Runs at 60 FPS in Dynamic 4K with Raytraced Lighting on PS5
@TheDudeElDuderino isn’t it a Rogue “Lite” though?
Meaning not all your progress is lost.
So there will still be a sense of progression
Re: Reaction: Days Gone Was PS4's Black Sheep, But a Darn Good Open World Game
The game was fine, but I just disliked the protagonist from start till very end. So I was happy to never see him again.
Re: Final Fantasy XIV Shows Off 15 Minutes of PS5 Footage
@Floki won’t be a difference. Player Characters are fine to load in after you arrive.
Only all base assets should be finished loading.
Even on PC with an SSD the loading is already incredibly fast. I play on SSD on PC and I see the same loading times in a fully packed server.
Re: Mini Review: Marvel's Avengers (PS5) - Heroic Makeover Still Needed
Treat this game as a single-player game with continuous story updates and you’ll be better off.

Re: Marvel's Avengers Dev Doubles Down on Level Progression Nerf
I was thinking of installing it again once the PS5 version is out and continue on side stories, but now I don’t feel like it.
Soon Outriders is out anyway and the devs there are quite the opposite of CD so far, even though both are under Square Enix.
Re: Aliens: Fireteam Squads Up in 25 Minute PS5, PS4 Gameplay Demo
All I want from this is just brainless horde mode fun, just like in the old AvP days in survival mode or evacuation.
If it can scratch that itch, it’s bought.
Re: Hands On: Incredibly Rough Outriders Demo Kills Our Hope for This Looter Shooter's Launch
Yeah the demo is very rough and most of the criticism in the article is true, but I’m still going to play it day one.
Simply because it’s fun and the story caught my interest. Also I had quite some laughs with the dark humor the game got.
People act as if a game is not allowed to be non-AAA.
I recommend watching SkillUps review. It pretty much sums up my feelings about it as well.
Re: ANTHEM's Big Overhaul Has Been Cancelled
Everybody trying hard to make a come back (Destiny, FF14, NMS, fallout) but it’s once again EA that likes cancelling everything.
I’m glad they also lost the Star Wars license, because now there is nothing holding me on EA.

Still hoping for a chance, but if they kill it, I hope they do something with the flight mechanics. Put them into the next mass effect maybe.

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Patch 1.0.4 Details Huge List of Improvements, Out Tomorrow on PS5, PS4
I don’t read anything about the screen tearing issue. Let’s see if they just didn’t mention it.
It can sometimes be a bit jarring.
I still have a lot left to do in the game and will see if the quality mode is a jump big enough to justify not playing smooth 60fps on a 4K screen.
Re: Godfall PS5 Patch 1.04 Out Now, Fixes a Load of Issues
I played it and it’s extremely mediocre. I feel I wasted money on it.
Re: PS5 Coil Whine Could Be Caused by a Loose Sticky Label

Preordered it already. After seeing how much effort the devs put into the game, I thought I reward them a bit with my munny.

How is this confusing? To me this is super clear.
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Promotes 'Great' PS5 Support at Launch
“Plays” great, yeah, I hope so.
But we will have to wait until next year for “plays and LOOKS great”
Re: Outriders PS5, PS4 Release Pushed to February 2021
Good, this year is already pretty crowded.
February would be great if they don’t delay again.
At the beginning I wasn’t interested, but I kept following it.
It is similar to the original concept of anthem, but looks actually fleshed out.
And people should really stop with that Destiny rip off craptalk. It’s getting old.
