They should really cancel the next full-game releases and instead just update the game directly.
Spending another $80 on Destiny 3 later down the line is just another pay wall that will filter a lot of players.
Look at Warframe and upcoming Anthem. I feel like their live service model is far better. It keeps the player base together across DLCs, motivates them even more to come back because nobody can say "no" to free content updates. And just make the money through other means.
I feel like Destiny tries to be too many things at once. A PVP game, a PVE action RPG kind of game, a live service looter shooter. And then it takes just so much money for a player to enjoy the full content of the game.
I would happily spend a lot of money for really great cosmetics (but not via random lootbox-ish ways to acquire them).
Instead, I am looking forward for Anthem to replace Destiny as a hobby game. And I am ready to spend money on cosmetics in Anthem already.
Its sad, Forsaken has been great, but they can't seem to just keep up the game. I bet the above "failure" will make them do mistakes again. Destiny is now in the middle of its 10 year plan. And it feels as if almost nothing really happened in the game. Only struggle after struggle.
Square Enix appears to be unable to get proper people work on the FF franchise. It is just a huge mess. FFXV had so much potential to become a great sequel, but nope, development hell. FFXIV development hell was rescued. Now FF7 is in development hell.
Since I live in Japan though, I do have some ideas how it could be related to the traditional Japanese mentality messing things up here.
Alien Isolation is probably my Nr 1 alien game yet as well as my Nr 1 horror game. I really hope that next game won't end up being something boring. A tactical shooter within the Alien universe would make me insta-buy it I suppose.
I don't care about online so I don't really care. I am actually getting this on my XBX because of better 4K graphics. The main reason to get this game should be the single player in my opinion.
Actually I would be happy if all the haters simply stay away from the game. So far BioWare has done an amazing job being close to the community. And I think it has very good potential to become a very good game.
It appears this game will be closer to Diablo 3 from its systems (e.g. many difficulty levels and its a looter game), paired with elements from Monster Hunter World (e.g. set out to free roaming mode to gather crafting materials, or respond to SOS signals from other players) and the general gameplay closer to ME series, but much improved upon.
So far I have barely seen anything in the game that would remind me of destiny. Just that we got a mage kind of thing in the game. Whoever thinks this game is like Destiny has absolutely no idea what he/she is talking about.
I am playing Destiny and I like Forsaken. But ANTHEM is nowhere close to what Destiny is. It is a different game, that is simply in the same kind of general genre of MMO-lite/looter-shooter. Its like saying Warframe is a Destiny clone (Warframe is older than Destiny), or even The Division being a Destiny clone. Although I do think that ANTHEM might share similarities with Warframe. But it shares almost no similarity with Destiny other than the general stuff the genre always has, sorry.
Forcing PvP up your throat is just wrong. Many players are focused only on PVE and bad are at PvP, so they have a lot of trouble. I myself, although I consider myself not bad in PvP, stay away from PvP as much as I can in destiny.
@zazzy I am currently 534. I don’t think the grind is too much. You get powerful rewards thrown at you for doing daily and weekly challenges. I find the grind much less painful than in other games i have played. Yes it is time consuming, but at least right now it is still rewarding. Every day you get a prime attunement buff which can get you up to 2 prime engram drops if you kill challenging enemies in strikes, public events of just roaming around. It’s a bit quicker when doing escalation protocols.
In other MMORPGs or looter shooters I would have not progressed as far as I did in destiny with the same time spent. Just do the grind correct and don’t force yourself to play non-stop.
This is the first time in destiny I actually enjoy a lot playing solo
@pimpjuice there won’t be loot boxes, only cosmetic micro transactions where you get exactly what you pay for, and all cosmetics are also available by purely playing and not spending any money.
You are simply out of date with the current state of this game.
@topic, I’ve been following the game closely. While I find BioWare to be a bit too secretive and not able to properly market the game so far, I do have the feeling this game can become a very good one. It is just a challenge for BioWare since they are trying something new and I hope it works out for the .
Seems our guardian got our voice back. This will probably be the last time of me playing destiny. Simply because there are no other sci fi games out there which I’m interested in. But destiny being so badly mismanaged, I will just play it until Anthem releases hopefully.
I have a feeling they spoiler the best parts of the campaign already. Like those trailers of movies, where you have seen the trailer means you have seen the movie already.
Well they don't have to be worried about Xbox and PC players of course. But I bet there is a lot of PS4 players who won't buy Tomb Raider day one because of Spider-Man (I am one of them already).
I wish I wasn’t so much into futuristic games recently. Loved Diablo 3, but just can’t get back into the old RPG settings.
But NMS NEXT update coming out now should give me more satisfaction.
Maybe soon I get back to feeling to play Diablo. I would definitely instabuy a D4 or new expansion
Ah, to me, this is how many Japanese companies really are, especially the bigger one's. I read Japanese news and other sources and there are some crazy stories out there. All I can tell, a lot of Japanese large companies are just bunch of jerks, stuck in the last century. That's why I live in Japan but work for my Australian mates.
To me it feels like Bungie has no idea what they are doing. Also it feels like they haven’t even had a glimpse at what made other games great. At that time they could have taken a lot of great ideas around loot and end-game content from Diablo 3, WoW and FF14. Instead it felt like they just tried to reinvent the wheel and made a lot of mistakes the other games have already solved. I started Warframe now which made a lot better choices than Destiny it seems. I just hope Anthem will be great and I have enough to occupy myself until it’s out.
I actually tried it, but got bored quickly. Then I tried again after I somehow felt like it again and so far I am still playing.
Also I very quickly noticed so many aspects this game has built in early in the game, which Destiny failed to have. Actually I would almost consider Destiny a F2P game, and Warframe a paid game when I simply look at the different mission designs. Where Destiny just has "kill", "defend ghost" and "survive waves" mission checkpoints, Warframe has a lot of variety. One in particular that I feel makes a game much more immersive are escorting missions. Where you interact with other characters in the world. How the heck does Warframe have this in its first few missions and Destiny fails to have such a thing? Especially being a "guardian" who doesn't guard anything it seems.
I will keep playing and see when I would get bored of the grind, but so far this game is actually better than Destiny from its package even in the early game. Which is actually a relief, since I have something to play now until I give Destiny Forsaken one last try before finally reaching Anthem.
Better rewards? I find this game is throwing too many rewards in your face. I won’t play it until forsaken, since no item in the game feels truly special somehow. So the grind is meaningless to me.
I’m living not too far from where the typhoon struck in Kyoto. We might see slower sales for the next 1-2 months, since millions of people have been evacuated and many lost their homes.
I just wished I wasn’t so bored by shooting humans. I did like the division in many aspects, but just running around shooting humans ended up being not exciting at all for me. Otherwise I bet I would play it instead of destiny.
@starhops WoW and other MMOs have a different perspective though and the whole play style is different, where aiming is not needed. Also, WoW does have the ability to modify the look of damage numbers or pretty much anything through mods.
Now in a shooter, where accuracy is important, if some damage numbers are blocking your view, its just stupid. Most shooters deal very well with damage numbers (e.g. Destiny). Its strange that Anthem does such a bad job at them. It appears that Mark Darrah himself was even kind of annoyed by them. I have no trouble with the white indicators, but the yellow ones are just too much in-your-face and should be reduced in size.
Its crazy how much negativity there is for Anthem on this page.
I feel like I am the only one who loved the above video, although I would have rather seen Ranger/Storm gameplay with more mobility. Colossus is obviously just simply slow and stationary.
These Battle Royal games really make me feel like I am too old for games of this generation. I am fine playing Overwatch but that is as far as I go in terms of competitive games. Maybe its because I love playing in a team with tactics. A lot of the players I see playing stuff like Fortnite seem to be enjoying trying to be the best, whereas I am more of a person who likes to support a team to become the best as a group.
I feel like games recently are moving a bit towards egocentric goals and losing the team aspect more and more.
@kyleforrester87 probably because you can trust in CDPR to deliver a polished game, so we gladly give it time. The others might spend a lot of time and it might still turn out bad
Destiny is already going into the 5th year now, which is half of its life time. And it feels like nothing really progressed in that game. The most important thing with Anthem will be to have a full experience at the start and add high quality content on the go that feels like the game is progressing.
It should just start basically as Destiny 1 with all the add ons, especially TTK. Just with a more coherent story. And then continue from there.
After what happened with Nomura and FFXV, I have my doubts about how this will turn out. At the end stuff might get scrapped again, a new director onboarded and the project rushed through?
Nowadays, anything Nomura touches, I have trouble trusting. If I was SE, I wouldn't let him do any more projects unless they are ready to spend crazy amounts of money or time.

Re: Three of Four Final Fantasy XV DLC Episodes Cancelled, Director Tabata Leaves Square Enix
Just don’t put Nomura at the helm of anything. Otherwise it’s just a waste of money and we would be waiting 12 years.

Got BFV through origin premier anyway. And depending how much time Pokémon Go Pikachu will take me, I might be getting Darksiders 3
Re: Battlefield V Trailer Showcases All Multiplayer Maps Available at Launch
Looks exciting. Can't wait to play it. Just hope they release content frequent enough, not having us wait months with delay after delay like in SWBF2.

Re: Catch a Glimpse of New War Stories in Battlefield V Single Player Trailer
I got Origin Prime Access, so I get it anyway. And I got a RTX card, so I will gladly try out ray tracing in this game.
Also I loved War Stories in BF1 and what was shown in the trailer looks even more interesting.

RDR2... maybe resonance of fate also
Re: Hands On: Sekiro's Going to Be as Hard as You Fear - Or Hope
