Re: The Division 2 Gets One Heck of a Dramatic Launch Trailer

tatsumi

It seems like TD2 and Anthem will be the combination for me to go for the foreseeable future.
On PC I was able to get a 20% discount because I had 100 coins for whatever reason. That made the choice easy to upgrade from standard edition to gold and play it 3 days earlier inclusive 1 year pass.

Re: Soapbox: ANTHEM's Load Screens are Killing the Game for Me

tatsumi

Playing on PC I feel my loading times are just a few seconds, I barely see them. So I of course don’t know how bad it is on consoles.

There has been a lot of criticism about them and I hope they manage to make the loading screens at least more Destiny-like down the line, being more interactive. Also having the ability to at least open the inventory or cortex.

Re: Round Up: ANTHEM PS4 Reviews Falter

tatsumi

I’m still playing it on PC, and I fear most reviews came from before the day one patch was even released, which fixed a hell lot of things. Also BioWare i think actually wanted a March release, but EA said nope.

I’m having a blast and I couldn’t care less about all the hate. Vote me down as much as you want! You won’t stop me from playing

Re: Soapbox: The Problem with ANTHEM Is That the Storm Javelin Is Way, Way More Fun Than the Other Suits

tatsumi

@kyleforrester87 I see the "privacy" mode being only useful for:

(1) playing with friends
(2) making sure you can play the story without people rushing through it

And @RogerRoger, if Normal is too hard, why not play on easy?
I found Hard to be even almost too easy when you are full rare equipped, but it all depends on equipment + skill.

@topic, I played all 4. And while the Storm does indeed seem to be the most popular one, I found myself liking Ranger most.
I just need more components that allow me to "float" longer.

Re: ANTHEM Microtransaction Controversy Starts Early, BioWare Says Pricing Isn't Finalised

tatsumi

I gladly put $100 into cosmetics so I can support the game to stay alive for long enough. I actually expected to pay $15-20 for a vinyl, which I am fine with. It should feel worth something and special. Not something everybody can just get.

Most gamers have absolutely no clue about what it takes to keep a live service game alive. I am against MTX in pure single player games. But a live service game? How do you guys think they can support this for 10 years? Do you also want to work for free for your company?

It doesn’t work that way. People scream no paywalling DLCs, no pay2win, no monthly subscriptions. Nobody of you is giving an actual solution to the problem, you just complain.

I find the above solution to be the best balance between people who don’t want to spent anything and people who gladly support BioWare to keep ANTHEM alive.
If you don’t like it, stay away from live service games, there are enough single player campaign driven games out there, especially on PS4. I wish for anthem to be successful, for BioWares sake.

Re: ANTHEM VIP Demo Still a Mess for Many Thanks to Endless Load Screens and Frequent Disconnects

tatsumi

I’m one of the lucky few with barely any issues in the demo. I put probably around 14 hours into the demo and had a blast.

It appears to be connected partly to the region and also potentially to ISPs. I’m in Japan and I also heard nothing bad from Australians so far. In the 14 hours, I had only 2 crashes and 2 infinite loading issues. Other than that, everything else was very stable for me and I highly enjoyed it.

I just wonder how many are there that have issues vs. have no issues at all.

Re: 10 Minutes of New ANTHEM Gameplay Shows Off Freeplay Exploration Events

tatsumi

There is only so much you can do in terms of diversity that keeps people engaged.
It’s easy to critique a game to not have much diversity, but difficult to actually give ideas about how it could be made better.

That’s why I personally think that what I have seen from Anthem is enough. You can’t just keep expecting more and more, leading to unrealistic expectations.

Re: New ANTHEM Gameplay Takes Us on a Tour of the Main Hub

tatsumi

What people seem to not understand is that not-so-important NPCs regarding the story might not have facial animations of the same quality as important NPCs.
Also the textures look like low quality on this video compared to many other streams we have seen, which further worsens impression.
There is enough other material (e.g. the Story trailer) which shows that this game has great facial animations in place.
I hope Pushsquare will do a hands-on article for the Demos.

Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey's Second Legacy of the First Blade Episode Sounds like Another Solid DLC

tatsumi

I’m not much of an AC fan. It got boring very quickly (I only liked AC1 and brotherhood), I was also very bored of AC origins. But AC Odyssey was a hell lot of fun. It doesn’t feel much like an AC game, but in general I think it is a very good and solid game, and especially fun and engaging.

I would recommend other people who are not fond of AC titles to give this title a try.

Re: The Game Awards 2018: ANTHEM Spews Some Sci-Fi Mumbo Jumbo with Story Trailer

tatsumi

The idea it follows seems to be similar to the relays left behind in Mass Effect. Something left a powerful technology behind. But in this case somebody is trying to make use of it to save mankind, but he is actually the bad guy.
Doesn’t sound that much like destiny to me. But what’s much more important is how the characters will turn out. I expect BioWare typical deep characters.

Re: The Game Awards Will Play Host to Your Next Glimpse of ANTHEM

tatsumi

Highly looking forward to it. So far everything that has been shown in streams (despite today's stream having died because of technical issues) looks great and got me excited.
I signed up for the closed alpha, but have yet to get an invite.

@Nerdfather1 Even with the live streams they have shown? The javelin customization in this game looks amazing.

@RBMango, how can Anthem be a Destiny clone when it was being made before Destiny was released?
It is more of a combination of ME + WarFrame + Monster Hunter. There is almost nothing in this game that reminds me of Destiny, but a lot that reminds me of WarFrame, ME, Monster Hunter.

Re: Battlefield V - Multiplayer Mayhem Excuses Features Missing in Action

tatsumi

@General_Spiller What paywall? All "missing content" will be coming without any additional cost.
Also its not "paying more for less content", as the content will come. You can complain when they cancel it.

You talk about the trend, but I don't see BFV being part of that trend right now. They probably just should have been more transparent and clear about their plans.

Re: Battlefield V - Multiplayer Mayhem Excuses Features Missing in Action

tatsumi

I'm fine with them delaying certain parts of the game. Gamers should really stop complaining this much, it is getting extremely annoying. I almost hate to identify myself as gamer nowadays, because of everybody's attitude.

At least I can play BFV now and it is quite a robust game already. And especially it is a lot of fun. Other than waiting many more months and have nothing at all. It is also not bad for focusing the player base onto one content after another.

I would be complaining if the current state of the game would be a bugfest. But it is not. Its stable. And its fun. Period.

Re: Round Up: Battlefield V PS4 Reviews Begin to Breach Enemy Lines

tatsumi

Currently playing early access. There is quite a bit of bugs to be fixed before the official release.
For a couple of us the cutscenes are stuttering and the PC optimization is partly underwhelming.
But other than that the game is great so far. I could never get into COD, I want to feel the war and Battlefield V does this job very well.
