Netflix will wrap up its likeable anime adaptation of Tomb Raider with its previously revealed Season 2, which will air from 11th December, according to Variety.
The show, officially named Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, proved fairly successful when it first debuted last year – and was immediately renewed for a second round of episodes.
However, this next set of episodes will bring the story to its conclusion.
The official story summary reads:
“When adventurer Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) discovers a trail of stolen African Orisha masks, she joins forces with her best friend Sam (Karen Fukuhara) to retrieve the precious artifacts. Lara’s thrilling new adventure takes her around the globe as she delves deeper into the hidden secrets of Orisha history, dodging the machinations of a dangerous and enigmatic billionaire who wants the masks for herself, while discovering these relics contain dark secrets and a power that defies logic. Power that may, in fact, be divine.”
The timing is interesting, as Amazon MGM announced plans to create a new live action Tomb Raider series this week with Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner taking the lead role.
Personally, we liked the first season of The Legend of Lara Croft quite a bit, describing it as a “brisk globetrotting animated adventure” in our review. Hopefully this second season wraps up the story tidily.
