Good news, as I was weighing up replaying 3 on PS3⦠which was never the best experience. Replayed New Vegas in ā24 and while I loved it just as much, if not more than when it originally released⦠it damn near killed my PS3!
Play 35 games, pop 35 plats⦠of which theyāll be a mix of PS3, PS4 & PS5 (even a few PS2 ports), vast majority will be backlog stuff. Most importantly, keep it varied, keep it fresh and have fun.
@NieR_Dark yeah I donāt think itāll spoil your enjoyment by playing them out of order. Nioh 2 will be a nice game to keep in the backlog for when you feel like it anyway. Brilliant game!
@NieR_Dark yeah Nioh 2 isānt a ādirectā sequel to the original⦠I think it takes place a few hundred years before it actually. There is connective tissue though⦠but I wonāt spoil it š
After 4 months of trials and tribulations Resident Evil: RevelationsRaid mode is done! So I donāt have to play (I say play⦠more like submit myself to torture) or think about that anymore. š
Started Gears of War: Reloaded yesterday, which will be my first of at least 4 Xbox Studios games this year to celebrate their 25th anniversary. So Iāll hopefully be able to get a bit more progression done on my first playthrough.
The good news is, that it isnāt Resident Evil: Revelations, the bad⦠the mp on this might take even longer!
@species how is implying that youāre an arbiter toxic, when you just dictated that Yotei āhad no right to be in the top 3ā? There was no opining about the way you said it, it was stated as if it were a matter of fact.
Honestly Push Square where do you find these⦠well Iāll say people as I donāt want the post to be removed.
@themightyant is it so hard to believe that some people may like Yotei more? I believed that Pure Xboxās Ben Kerry liked South of Midnight more than Expedition 33⦠and Iād argue that the majority of gamers prefer GoY over SoM.
It just seems that Push Square opinions (from both staff and punters) are instantly resigned to fanboyism, while there is just as much evidence of this behaviour (if not more) on the other side of the divide.
A third party title that was available day-and-date on Gamepass wins out against PlayStation first and second party exclusives eh⦠maybe this isnāt a site full of rampant fanboyism as is the usual accusation from āsomeā quarters. How bout that? š¤
Thatās cool⦠Iāve actually been quite tempted to buy this a couple of times but ended up getting something else. Itās supposed to be pretty decent, so Iāll be playing this.
@themightyant as I initially stated in my comment that was removed, so I forgive you for not being aware of that⦠itās just my two pence worth ie. my opinion that this editorial series would gain more traction if it detailed a trophy journey that required the gamer to actually overcome challenges and adversity. While I still believe that opinion is correct, Iām only too aware that it is simply my opinion.
@Quintumply thatās fine, Iāve just been consuming platinum content for almost 10 years now, and I have an understanding of what gets hits and what doesnāt. Generally trophy hunters like to hear about the trials and tribulations that someone experienced when attempting a challenging plat-chase⦠even if they end up failing.
As I said in my original constructive feedback, which was unceremoniously removed due to being adjudged to be unconstructive⦠itās just my two penneth and was only provided as I want all trophy hunting content to succeed.
Iād say that the top 3 here are pretty much the āacceptedā top 3 across the PlayStation strata⦠4 and 5 are somewhat arguable either way. I own 1, 2, 3 and 5⦠and am yet to play any of them. Judging from my personal tastes though, Iām thinking my top 3 will probably end up being 1. DS2, 2. GoY and E33: CO⦠but I am curious to find out if the latter hits me for 6, as it has with the majority of people.
Hell yeah I death skilled ochu⦠&all the adamantortoises that I had to farm! š¤£
I actually messed up my MGS4 run a bit though. Iām sure the minimum playthroughs was around 8 if you got everything perfect⦠but I had to do another two or three if memory serves š”
@GamingGod itās not as bad as is generally reported tbh, nowhere near as difficult as I found MGS2⦠which seems to get far less notoriety for some reason.
As far as your trophy hunting goes, I did the FFXIII plat last year as it goes⦠one hell of a grind! Bloodborne actually popped my cherry as an interesting aside. š
@GamingGod aye Iāve watched many of Adam McDermottās platinum journeys⦠and the takeaway Iāve always had is that the tough plats get the views.
Also, in reference to your comment⦠Iāve platād every souls game &MGS4 š
@PuppetMaster maybe you misunderstood⦠what Iām saying is, that if he continues to simply plat what he likes, the lack of engagement will kill this series. As a plat-hunter myself, I want this series to succeed.
Before all the hate from some quarters that a Square Pusher would dare to plough the depths of fanboyism to rate a PlayStation exclusive above their beloved third party french RPG that they feel some strange loyalty too as it was on Gamepass⦠I want to applaud the diverse entries that are turning up on these lists so far.
And before the retort⦠one of your unquestionably objective Pure Xbox writers just rated South of Midnight as their best game of the year, and therefore above Expedition 33, so donāt even bother complaining that a game of Death Stranding 2ās quality was rated similarly.
Started Ultra Age last night. Itās a pretty average character-action game in all honesty but wanted to find something relatively short to finish off my years trophy hunting with a round number.
Also, Iām still on Resident Evil: Revelations! My co-op partner sent me some homework to study last night, as we hit our umpteenth roadblock during yesterdays session š
