We knew CyberConnect 2 had been around for a while, but we didn't realise the talented Japanese developer was hurtling towards its 30th anniversary.

But apparently it's true, and the studio's got a big announcement up its sleeve to celebrate. The secret project will be officially announced next week, on the 16th February.

According to CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, this thing's a "completely new game", which is pretty exciting.

Just to quickly recap the games that CyberConnect 2 is best known for, it was behind the .hack RPG franchise, the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja games, and 2012's beloved Asura's Wrath.

Much more recently, it brought us Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and the Fuga: Melodies of Steel series.

Obviously the company's produced a lot of licensed titles in the past, but we assume that this new game's something original. It won't be long until we know for sure.
