Re: Fallout 3 PS5 Is Fast Becoming One of the Worst Kept Secrets in Gaming

psmr

I was actually over Bethesda games for a while… and that was more to do with Obsidians Outer Worlds more than anything else (+ finishing off the dregs of the Fallout 4 plat). But then the Fallout show started and I wanted back in and played through Fallout: New Vegas again and fell back in love with it.

Really looking forward to this!

I think allowing a third party dev team to pitch what is essentially an indie prequel to a massive first party stalwart is a fine idea. I haven’t played it yet but unfortunately it does seem like the execution is generally perceived to be a little under the baseline of what would be expected from the series though. Doesn’t mean that Sony shouldn’t be open to pitches from Mega Cat (or any other indie/AA dev studio) for existing ip in the future though.

@Gemin53 so, not stalking you for a start… I just happen to read Pure Xbox as well as Push Square. Which I was doing when I noticed these latest allegations 🤣. So if you’re gonna use that platform to moan about your interactions over here (particularly when it was directly after an interaction that I had just had with you, that involved none of what you alleged) unlike you, im not gonna turn tail and run to another platform to moan in a comfortable space… I’m gonna respond. Also, I don’t believe I’ve expressed any rage at all in all honesty. Quite informative that you’d jump to those conclusions though 🤔… I think that you really need to get over yourself tbh.

@Deadlyblack whether it’s mentioned or not, a decision such as this would no doubt be multi-faceted. Also, the main driver behind the decision is sales and if you don’t think piracy impacts sales… well, I sold a bridge to a guy earlier this evening and I think he might be interested in off-loading it to you.

Re: Opinion: Sony's PC Pullback Is the Right Move for PS5

@Gemini53 judging from your recent comment on Pure Xbox, I take it that you think I was being vile, toxic and attacking towards you. Well… an overreaction like that does kinda play into my commentary on the tendency of the PC user base to be a wee bit over-reactionary not gonna lie.

Re: Opinion: Sony's PC Pullback Is the Right Move for PS5

psmr

@Deadlyblack the following is hearsay… but it was mentioned by someone on here who games on PC as much if not more than they do on PlayStation, so I give it ‘some’ credence. I think the sales for Spider-man 2 on PC were around 700k. The person, who I will not name as it’s up to them if they want to get involved stated that they saw one (amongst many) pirated versions that had over a million downloads.

If I’m running a business where I have my own platform where 16 million people bought a product and an option to put the same product on a platform where I will not only take a 30% hit on all sales but also more people will pirate it than buy it… I’m making the same decision Sony appears to be making.

Re: Opinion: Sony's PC Pullback Is the Right Move for PS5

@Gemini53 people including myself will often talk about groups of people in terms of what/how the majority of said group do/act. Just because you as well as some other members of a minority might not have kicked off over the creation of a simple and free PS account… doesn’t detract from the mass kick-off that not only us lot remember (vividly)… but I’d imagine played at least some small part in Sony’s decision to 180.

Throwing stones lol… educating someone on the PC user base overly reactionary takes is not throwing stones.

Re: Opinion: Sony's PC Pullback Is the Right Move for PS5

@Eadgar dude, PC players threw their collective toys out of their communal prams over having to creating a PSN profile… yet you think that they’d happily make their purchases from a PS Storefront? I have a bridge I could sell you btw.

Started Hellpoint last night and quite enjoying it. Looking forward to putting a few more hours in and narrowing down on a build. It’s definitely AA but it’s doing a solid job of transposing the feel of the early Souls (DeS & DS1 in particular) games into a sci-fi horror environment.

I’ve heard a lot of mention of how slow it is… which I assume is in relation to it being less action-centric but more tactical than say Destiny or… and I’m only mentioning this as I’ve heard so many people state it in comparison - Apex Legends (yes I know they’re totally different games but people are using it as a comparison for some reason). Hopefully it finds its audience, in much the same way as Hunt: Showdown and Escape from Tarkov has.

Re: Incoming Xbox Boss Promises a 'Renewed Commitment to Console', and 'Hears' Fans on Skipping PS5

@UltimateOtaku91 and this is why I would never take an Xbot seriously… they bang their drum to whatever the company line is, even though it is often the binary-opposite to the rhythm they banged the previous day.

We’ll have 15 minutes of them telling us how important exclusives are now… and if/when Asha continues to publish games on PlayStation, they’ll be lecturing us on how anti-consumer Sony are again. Console wars have always been some funny side-content to the main course of gaming… but bots are a whole nutha level.

@Bundersvessel My pursuit for Chicken Dinner on Forza will be an interesting one no doubt. Halo: Campaign Evolved should be fine as there is no mp. Same for Fable in terms of there being no mp (I’d imagine) but you’d have to guess it will be a big time-sink anyway.
