I did buy all these on ps4 but have been focussing on getting through the Final Fantasy series and haven’t had a chance to get to any of these. If they’re noticeably improved over the ps4 versions I’d probably pick this collection up and play it on ps5 instead.
@AgentCooper observing the mismanagement of XBOX and how their fanatics flip-flop in their ideology to tow the party line is far more entertaining than their games… always has been 😏
@NerdyPaul you say that as if I implied other companies should… I didn’t. But the headline referred specifically to Sony losing its apparent grip and therefore my post was directed at that. Essentially I agree with you that no console maker should have a grip on third party devs/publishers… but if you couldn’t tell that from my original post I’d argue that you have difficulties reading between the lines 🤚
Sony shouldn’t have a ‘grip’ on third parties, it should be a mutually beneficial partnership and at any point if either party feels that it would be beneficial to operate independently (and are not contractually obliged otherwise) the option should be available… which appears to be the case here.
Started Mass Effect 3 yesterday, so probably a bit more of that. Having originally played (& loved) 1 & 2 on 360… my 360 RROD’d by the time 3 released and although I bought it on PS3, I never played more than a few hours for some reason. Well I’ll finally get to see how it all plays out… for better, or worse. I’m enjoying it so far though, more than I enjoyed playing the remasters of the first two too.
Dragon Age 2 - now I remember being really excited for this back in 2011… and then playing most of it wondering what the hell were BioWare thinking. It’ll be interesting to return to it all these years later with far lower expectations. Also, Origins will be far more fresher in the mind this time around having replayed it just last year, so my own comparisons will be more fair this time.
@trev666 Microsoft spent almost $100 billion buying up the industry, so obviously they now have games… games that everyone else has too though, so they’re adding no value to the ecosystem.
Double XP weekend on World War Z: Aftermath so back on that to grind out the last few weapons and just the Fed Ex Cup left to do on PGA Tour Golf: Road to the Masters.
I also went back to Homefront: The Revolution during the week and… although it is an absolute jank-fest, I have been jonesing to play a little more I can’t lie.
I did play Fable 2 back on 360 and thought it just okay if I’m honest. Still, this is from totally different devs so I’ll check out the reviews when it drops.
Still ticking over on PGA Tour Golf: Road to the Masters (currently leading the Masters going into the 3rd round), the more I play it, the more it separates itself from the 2K games.
Not sure what else right now though, I’ve kinda cleared the deck a bit this week having finished off a few plats (Final Fantasy 2, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown & Ghost of Yotei), so I could go back and begin the mop-up on a few games I started and moved on from like Homefront: The Revolution and World War Z: Aftermath or start something new (well new to me 😅) like Metro 2033 and Bioshock. I’m kinda leaning towards the latter atm.
The more we hear about sales/wishlisting on steam (Slay the Spire 2, Mewgenics, Subnautica 2), the more I realise that PC gamers and PlayStation players just want quite different things… and that’s absolutely fine btw. Makes more and more sense why Sony appear to be pulling back from that market.
The gaming fraternity is a strange old market. The Dead Space games are incredible (yes even 3) and up there with Resident Evil in terms of pure quality action survival horror. But while Resi sells by the truck load (rightfully so too), DS appeals to a far smaller demographic. Makes no sense!
I was early 20’s when GTA 3 released and while I already had a PS2… I’d kinda lost total interest in gaming. A guy in work… not really a friend, barely an acquaintance who I’d never seen an ounce of emotion out of prior to that day could not shut up about GTA 3! Something in his crazed fervour must’ve spoke to me as before I knew it I was taking a detour to Virgin Megastore instead of going straight to the train station to get off home… I couldn’t be more glad that I did.
Hoping to make a start on Final Fantasy 2 this weekend. I was real pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the original when I played it last year, so hopefully the sequel hits in much the same way.
Apart from that, maybe a tournament or two on PGA Tour: Road to the Masters. A real solid golf game and it’s completely hooked me!
I do have a couple of these in the backlog (in fact I think I have thee of these as the first one came with a bonus entry). I’ll probably just end up play those if I’m honest.

@UltimateOtaku91 🤣 fair enough, doesn’t sound as much my bag as I’d hoped from your description but appreciated nonetheless.
Re: You May Have Missed Atelier Karia's Reveal, Coming to PS5 in 2027
Never played one of these but I quite liked what I saw from the trailer. Are they anything like the Tales of… games?

Off topic but I wonder when the money-hat for the Space Marine Remaster is up, I was expecting a 12 month but that was up on June 1st.

Re: New Tomb Raider PS5 Screenshots Leak Ahead of Today's State of Play
Looks stunning fair play! I am more of a fan of the survivor trilogy than the old school TR games… but I’m still pretty hyped I can’t lie.

I don’t already own any of the 3 and am at least a little interested in 2 of them (Darktide & Grounded)… honestly can’t complain.
