Xbox and Double Fine have announced the studio's next game — an online party brawler named Kiln.

This team-based multiplayer game is all about making your own ceramic character before taking them into matches.

The trailer is probably the best way to explain it:

Kiln is a game of two halves. First, you'll use the in-game pottery wheel to create your own ceramic pot to your liking, refining its shape and choosing how it's decorated.

Next, you turn that pot into a character, and based on its attributes, it'll be defined as a particular type of vessel. Each type has its own movement behaviours and attacks.

The competitive aspect is a game called Quench, in which two teams compete to extinguish the flames of the opposing team's kiln.

You do this by scooping up water inside your character and carrying it across the map to the kiln. Of course, doing so is easier said than done, as you'll have opponents trying to smash you up before you get there.

As you play, you'll unlock more ways to create and customise your pots.

The game is confirmed for release on PS5, and it's set for release in Spring 2026.
