I played AC: Rogue earlier this year and honestly, that was pretty much just like Black Flag only set in the North Atlantic instead of the Caribbean. So that’s kinda quenched my thirst as far as this remaster is concerned.

I’ll still pick it up like… but in no real rush to play it.

@Rodimusprime13 the profits come from sticking a virtual store inside hundreds of millions of people’s homes. That’s why its never made any sense for Microsoft (nor Sony for that matter) to put Steam on their gen 10’s.

@SuperYlvis in fairness, he was a console gamer once but… ‘evolved’. PC gamers rarely game though, if they ain’t tinkering with they’re rig… their lobbing grenades into console occupied territory just to watch the fallout.

Just to let you all know (particularly the Nintendo fans out there) @nomither6 is a massive PC evangelist and hates on PlayStation as much as he’s supposedly hating on team red rn. Try not to think of this as a PlayStation vs Nintendo thing… this is an elitist vs anything that they don’t consider to be elite thing.

@windxtravelerx in fairness to you, I was thinking pretty much along the same lines until this whole drastic increase in the price of RAM. No one knows what the future holds but it could (and probably will) cause the PS6 (as well as all of its competitors) to be priced considerably higher than the estimates that have been flying around these past 12 months or so.

I hope it doesn’t have this kind of impact but I’m a realist.. and at £569.99 the Black Friday price for a Pro was just too good to pass up. Consoles and PC components may never (or for a long time at least) be this inexpensive again.

Whatever your particular perspective may be, there is no denying that in terms of sales figures at least… both the Switch 2 has had an incredible first 9 months and the PS5 has had a very good 5th year, bolstered by an astronomical Q4.

I’ve been on this hype train since its original reveal a few years back, the visual-style and action just looked so fresh to me… even the missus was like “what’s that!”. She still asks me about this and when it’s due to this day… which is unusual*.

I picked one up over Black Friday. What with £130 off, PSSR2 around the corner and AI looking like it will majorly impact the price of PlayStations (as well as it’s competitors) for the foreseeable future, it just felt like a great price at the right time.

Been looking into the various games that have a big boost from the Pro and I’m actually surprised by how noticeable it is in many third party games (the impact it has on first party is well-documented)… and it’s only going to improve (probably quite drastically with PSSR2). It’s already feeling like a prudent purchase.

I’d like to see these Black Friday numbers against the equivalent Black Friday for PS4. It’s always been close, if the PS5 was always a little behind… but lately (especially what with a massive BF like this one) I actually think that the PS5 will outsell the PS4 by the end of its run.

I’d imagine these percentages are much the same, if not more skewed towards the PS5 across Europe.

A fair bit of co-op this weekend. Finishing off the Tiny Tina dlc for Borderlands 2 today and then some raid mode on Resident Evil: Revelations tomorrow. After quite a few hours (and months in regards to the latter 😅) on both, it looks like we’re creeping up on the finishing line of both.

I then have next week off and am gonna try and fit Psychonauts and Risk of Rain 2 in for 50 plats for the year.

I loved the last Lords of the Fallen (it’s honestly the closest thing to Dark Souls 4 we’ll probably ever get)… but I’d be a bit disappointed if this turned out to be the next LotF tbh.

@Th3solution I actually already have the game (scheduled to play in in 2031 😁) but yeah, the third person option definitely gets me more excited about it. Sci fi Farcry with a third person view point… I might buy another copy just to express my appreciation!

This is the main reason that I just bought a Pro over Black Friday. It’ll be a console that will continue to develop as a result of PSSR… and consoles will probably never be this cheap again.

Not necessarily a fan of Lin but I do rate It - Chapter 1 and the ip itself could make for a brilliant movie if they can capture the games juxtaposition between horror and comedy.

@Th3solution yeah, I’m no longer a mere amateur 😉.

I had always planned on getting a pro prior to its release but when they announced it was releasing without a disk drive, was put off… and also to a lesser extent by the price.

Then I was waiting on whether GTAVI would run at 60fps on it, which we obviously still don’t know… but now just felt like the right price and the right time.

I’ve asked the missus to get me the disk drive for my stocking (so no extra ‘personal’ charge 😉).

Been playing Borderlands 2 all week… and I’m pretty into it. I remember playing a fair bit of the first one solo, back on ps3 but never felt the pull to go back to the series. It’s been co-op with the sequel and I think it’s clicking for me. Wrapped up the main game and 1 & a half dlc’s, so looking to finish at least the second dlc this weekend.

I think that I’ll definitely go on to play 3 and 4… and might even go back to 1 again and maybe even The Pre-sequel and the two Tiny Tina games too.

Also, I ordered a ps5 pro last night… so hopefully that’ll be arriving sometime this weekend.

I just picked up another one myself… I’m gonna tear the RAM out of it and finally make my million! 🤑

Was never expecting it in 2026 tbh… the year will have enough going on with Wolvie, Saros and GTAVI. Just perfect the **** out of Intergalactic for the following year.
