@Darylb88 one of the numerous ways Gamepass has negatively impacted the industry.

I’ve played and plat’d every GoW (including the portable ones) and I couldn’t say YES more affirmatively. I love the combat from 2018 and Ragnarok!

edit. If they were to just use the old gameplay, they may as well simply remaster and not remake.

Still haven’t picked up the Oblivion remaster… and I’d probably want to play that over this if I’m honest. It’s still a maybe though to be fair.

I did buy the first one, probably on one sale or another I’d imagine… never really felt the draw to actually play it though.

The excitement for this over on the Pure Xbox comments compared to the apathy here is… well, interesting you could say 🤔

@CaptD you might still get lucky mate, I reckon that there’ll still be a sale or two before their current contracted RAM runs out.

I still play my ps3 let alone my ps4… diminishing returns means that my ps5 pro won’t be massively different to what my eventual ps6 will deliver… at least at the start of the gen.

It did look good during the State of Play tbh… hope that it’s as good to play 🤞

@Th3solution yeah, ive only just actually fired mine up and not really tested it yet with any game that is radically improved… but there was a ridiculously good price for one in the UK just before Christmas. So that, together with RAMageddon and the eve of PSSR2 meant that I simply couldnt say no.

@themightyant the guys never gonna change bud, if anything he’ll just continue to devolve more and more into a pure caricature of himself. Considerable success early in life, followed by considerable failures towards and after middle age must be a tough thing to deal with psychologically. I think he’s finding this out first hand.

@Fiendish-Beaver i just got a Pro myself and am feeling relatively confident that PSSR version.2 (3, 4 & 5?) will handle things pretty well for the next 4 or 5 years 🤞

I actually find Jaffe occasionally entertaining, he had a great stream with Colin Moriarty a week or so back as it goes… but he is the king of hot takes (many of which I disagree with) and generally believes he (& only he) is right. Annoyingly entertaining… or entertainingly annoying in equal measure.

@OldGamer999 yup, basically once they went all in… the only real play was to keep everything (even CoD) exclusive to your platform. Yes it would hurt your bottom line in the short to mid term… but mid to long term the tide would turn and actually competing is the least they’d have achieved.

Instead, the money people at Microsoft allowed their short-sightedness to overrule the master plan and they’ve ended up an absolute laughing stock of a subsidiary.

What with the mismanagement of Xbox together with the Microslop push… the brand as a whole just holds a hell of a lot of toxicity these days. So the ‘Magnus’ could be an incredible machine at a bargain price at this point and all but the zealots will turn their nose up at it.

@OldGamer999 at this point, I think it’s a mixture of hubris and concern over how 100% capitulation after spending around 100 billion to compete (ActiBliz and all their other purchases they’ve made since around 2017) would negatively impact their share price.

@TrollOfWar just pull out and go full third party of course! The answers been staring them in the face for most of this gen and only hubris is stopping them from capitulating to it. Xbox gamers buying all their games on the Steam store isn’t gonna help their OS.

@OldGamer999 no doubt they’ll struggle! The transition from console hardware to full game-streaming will be the most difficult thing Sony will probably have ever had to navigate… it’ll be similarly difficult for Nintendo to contend with. I’ve always thought that Microsoft have had the forward-footing in this regard due to their standing within the PC sector, due to Windows and also due to Gamepass on PC.

My perspective has changed a little of late though, I’m not so sure Microsoft will so easily manage the transition to full game-streaming anymore. I feel pretty confident that PC Gamepass will have a similar price hike to that of consoles within the next year or so (and the PC community’s reaction will be even more vociferous than yous guys)… and the PC gaming community seem to be more and more against Microsoft lately anyway. As I’ve said many times, just because steam may be on their next box doesn’t mean it’ll help them in any meaningful way… I actually think it would speed up their exit.

@TrollOfWar but is it a good decision if it means that they’ll be earning even less from their platform than they are now? Just because something is good for the consumer doesn’t mean it’s good for the company (see the Gamepass experiment). If Microsoft end up losing even more revenue due to their own decision to allow steam onto their platform, what will be their next pivot/Hail Mary?

@4fold particularly… and I think this is where a lot of people can’t see the wood for the trees, if it also negatively effects the desirability of their own platform.

@TrollOfWar yup, and one company has changed tack a frankly crazy amount of times during this gen… and resulted in them losing traction within the market rather than gaining.

@datamonkey smart as in Sony PC ports will be playable on it… not smart as in Microsoft won’t make a penny on their platform when all their diminishing userbase buys everything on steam.

I don’t really have a problem with it tbh. They’ve said it’s two player and it is… you just need to earn it through enjoying a first playthrough in single player. Current society’s want to blow up over everything will eventually lead to societal collapse… and a modern dark age will give you some actual reason to moan I can assure you of that.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, dev’s and publishers betting EVERYTHING on GaaS is like your layman remortaging their house and spending it all on lottery tickets. Sure, you might get rich… but you’ll probably lose your house!

Played Asura’s Wrath first the first time around 18 months ago. I really liked it tbh, would be well up for a sequel… maybe even a remaster.

Such a great series… this could be my goty!

Will be helping some of the stragglers with the various multiplayer trophies on Gears of War: Reloaded, while continuing to chip away at the 10,000 competitive kills needed for the Seriously trophy.

And maybe some more Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver if I get some free time.

@Nightcrawler71 both Division games, Helldivers 2, the Zombie Army games and the Remnant games are all great PvE shooters. I also thought The First Descendant was pretty decent given its price (ie free).

edit. none of my suggestions are FPS btw… all third person but all are fun.
