Fallout fans have discovered another hint — from an unusual source — that a remaster of Fallout 3 may indeed be in the works.
As shared on the series' Reddit, a group of new product listings from McFarlane Toys have emerged online, and a toy related to "Fallout 3 Remastered" is among them.
You can view all the listings through the link.
The site sharing the listings says these "generally turn out to be true", but that they are not officially confirmed by McFarlane as of yet.
This comes following rumours from earlier in the year, claiming Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are both getting the remaster/remake treatment. It's said neither of these projects are due out any time soon, however.
The toy listing, if legitimate, does lend a little more credence to the rumours, and let's face it, the TV show's popularity will surely have spurred on these remasters anyway.

I will believe it only if it's a confirmed rumor by Jeff Grubb.
@Czar_Khastik amazing haha
It's the oblivion remaster all over again
The last good fallout game. Can’t wait
Looking forward to these as these 2 games could really use remasters and we’re probably not getting anything else Fallout related until the 2040s.
Wish they dropped it as a shadow drop right about now.
I’m personally more interested in a new vegas remaster but I’d probably still play a remaster of 3
@Boxmonkey not a fan of New Vegas?
@Czar_Khastik 3 days after everyone else confirms it
If true and if it's a shadow drop it's going to be hard to not go digital until they finally release physical editions of both. I still have my day one Fallout 3 and New Vegas, along with both Game of The Year Editions. I'd love to add more to the collection. I've tried to play Fallout 3 on Premium, it's rough. New Vegas had some great DLC, Dead Money especially. The Pitt on PS3 bugged my saves/reset all of my progress and cost me platinum. It still stings.
I still think they look great, we were talking about games we want to see remastered on the forums. Those were some of my visual aides. I miss those Classic Collections too.
Given that Microsoft have released the oblivion remaster, that Bethesda Studios take a literal age to release new games and that the Fallout TV show is an ongoing success, I don’t think you need any “leaks” to know that a fallout remaster is coming soon.
@SuperSilverback last good game from Bethesda 😁
Soul reaver 1 and 2 remastered was also leaked with some figurines.
I think this is confirmation tbh. Not that it wasn't likely already.
Question is when exactly is it releasing... pretty sure it was still another like 4 months until we had confirmation of soul reaver remastered. So, this can be summer or fall or they may choose to delay it even further for season 3 of the show.
I’m expecting them to be shadow dropped at the next Xbox showcase at this point.
Would imagine they can produce 3 & new Vegas at the same time since they share the same engine as well as share many assets.
@GirlVersusGame Brilliant. I had the special editions of 3 and New Vegas, but I sold Vegas a few years back when I was hard up for a few quid. It was the edition with the chips, and the mini graphic novel. I'd buy it back in an instant now.
Luckily I couldn't bear to part with my Fallout 3 lunchbox, complete with Bobblehead, and I've still got them to this day. Possibly my favourite gaming franchise.
I'm holding off a new playthrough of these games in the hope these remasters are real. Not played them for years
I was actually over Bethesda games for a while… and that was more to do with Obsidians Outer Worlds more than anything else (+ finishing off the dregs of the Fallout 4 plat). But then the Fallout show started and I wanted back in and played through Fallout: New Vegas again and fell back in love with it.
Really looking forward to this!
When the first season of the Fallout TV series was announced, this should have been priority number one! Bethesda knew what was coming, with New Vegas being featured in Season 2, and yet still, there's been no release of the PS3 era Fallout remasters. They have really dropped the ball.
I would love to play this. I've probably said it before, but I always wanted to play FO3 but heard how bad the PS3 version is. My worry is that freakin' Oblivion Remastered still launched with the infamous Bethesda memory leak problem. So I hope that does not happen here again. That is why I never bothered with the PS3 version.
loved fallout 3 and vegas on ps3 i hope they dont loose the green tinge everything had in fallout 3. they changed the look of oblivion in the remaster and it lost something for me
i hope this is true , fallout 3 was one of my favorite games , a version with all the dlc baked in that has a better resolution and better fps would be perfect.
@trev666 What did they change?
@CKFilms 100%. Fallout 3 remaster to drop with season 1 of the show, and NV to drop with season 2. Seems like a no-brainer
It is a sort of "ugly, clunky" game said with an amount of veneration for its overall quality.
Such a remade game can offer a transformative experience for older gamers coming back and seem relevant to newcomers as well.
Therefore, I am happy to see it come to fruition and will add it to an impossiblly long wishlist!
How many years old this game now? And still be unplayable day one remaster 🤣🤣🤣 Bethesda getting away with dreadful development since??🤦♂️
Ron Pearlman's "War. War never changes" was and still is one of the best opening lines in gaming, love Fallout 3.
@trev666 they need to keep it bleak almost monochromatic
The wait for Fallout 5 is going to be so that that after the FO3 and NV remasters I fully expect Bethesda to remember Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics also exist and remaster them as well.
i miss when games used to look like fallout 3.
@Sheppard not who you replied to but in the original Oblivion they made good use of green textures to show grass was there without needing to render individual blades of it. Remastered has brown dirt outside ground textures with individually rendered blades of grass.
Overall it definitely looks more muted and less vivid than before while still looking good. It doesn’t bother me but I can definitely see why some people would dislike it. There’s also lighting changes which I don’t think help the situation (the lighting is more realistic but leads to things looking muted). If you google oblivion remastered comparisons you should see the differences pretty quick.
Don’t know how much of an issue his would be for Fallout 3 though since that was always waaaaay more brown and lifeless than Oblivion but I haven’t played it in 10ish years so could be misremembering.
I'll see it when I believe it.
@NoCode23 i mean in all fairness we said that about oblivion and it actually happened
