Re: Just 70MB of Data Contained on the Modern Warfare 2 Disc

mrmartinrohr

You can sell the disc. On PSN store, you pay full for a game that you deleted after one hour of play because its poop. No trial with no trial period and no gameplay screenshots or video on the store. You are basically asked to pay A LOT of money for something you'll not enjoy. Reviews? Ok so it doesn't have bugs and it's "objectively good" but that's not enough… If I bought Daemon Souls remake for full price on PSN with no chance to resell the game I would end up throwing my PlayStation out of the window. And Playstation instead of introducing trial versions across the platform they put that behind insane paywall. WTF.

Re: Poll: Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?

mrmartinrohr

I cared more for graphics fidelity and resolution in the past. But on PS5 it changed. So many games run in 60fps that 30fps is suddenly noticeable and I even lost interest in some games because of that. NFS Heat… 30fps racer after racing in 60fps literally for years? No thank you. Two to thee graphical options should be the norm now.

Re: Battlefield 2042 Delays First Season on PS5, PS4 to Add Key Features, Like a Refined Scoreboard

mrmartinrohr

It’s clearly going downhill since BF4. Now I don’t even understand the UI. Specialists? Drop zone what? I have to play the crator-ish Portal mode to play Rush? Spent 4 hours or so in the trial (two sittings – 1. on launch in November 2. Yesterday…) and it’s not getting any better. Thanks god I didn’t spend any money on this… If they will continue like this, EA Play will eventually have to give up the Trials. I just wonder how long would it take me to find TDM. Is it even there? On launch there was like 5 dead empty TDM servers… I mean… I could rant about this BS of a game all night… Uff

Re: PS Plus Blocks Free Mortal Shell PS5 Upgrade

mrmartinrohr

@TheMysticOne You kidding me? Sony wants the game and it's all about how much it will cost. Looks like Gearbox wanted too much for the Godfall – more than the budget can do – so they reach a compromise with putting a small effort in a new version and getting half of the money or so. Potential customers of the full game will not be that affected and it will still sell almost as good as if PS Plus never happened and they got guaranteed income. TBH what Sony just gave them for this version is probably more than what the game will make in the future anyway.

Re: Kratos Actor Christopher Judge Says God of War Ragnarok Was Delayed 'Because of Me'

mrmartinrohr

@WallyWest Ok, now I red what i typed again and it sounds too harsh… What I was saying is build the game and then do the actual motion capture and "cutscenes" edit later. This game is harder to make in this regard because of the "no cuts" thing, but all but his performance can be done in advance. Maybe you should play this documentary and watch the latter half: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faatWOs2c5c The game could be done entirely without the actors and as the last step they would scan them and motion capture them for the game. Then of corse you would have to adjust a lot of things, but that is just a small thing compared to the scope of the whole development. If the whole development was on track and THE ONLY THING they were waiting for was the actor, they would have done it this way. But it looks like it's not the case so I don't know why is he putting this on his shoulders. Anyway, I am too supporting the studio and the actor – it's all great, but I just don't understand why is he "taking the blame" for anything. And I'm too super happy about him staying on the project.

Re: Kratos Actor Christopher Judge Says God of War Ragnarok Was Delayed 'Because of Me'

mrmartinrohr

That is some incredible BS. If your main actor can't walk, you use the same animations as for the first game to build it, then do all the motion capture for the cut scenes with a double or do it provisionally. Everything besides that can be prepared and ready. Or is the acting and motion capture vital for building up the rest of the game. It's not that easy I know, but at the same time he made it sound like it's the only reason why it got delayed/it takes longer then fans expected.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PS5 Gameplay Is Godly, Features an Older Atreus

mrmartinrohr

@themightyant For the outside it was not, but I think that was their original super-optimistic plan. Try to make it for PS5 launch. They tried, but when they saw it's really not happening, they announced 2021. And the fact that they did not met the launch window gave them actually more space to enrich the game even more which got out of hand and now we're gonna have it in 2022. If you look at the title: GoW Ragnarok. There is no number two – same as Miles Morales. Theoretically It was supposed to be a smaller title. (Uncharted lost legacy was supposed to be a DLC too.) It all kinda makes sense.

Re: God of War Ragnarok PS5 Gameplay Is Godly, Features an Older Atreus

mrmartinrohr

This seriously looks like the first game. They use the same technology, visuals look the same, they reuse a lot of game mechanics and assets. It basically looks like an extension to the original game. Don't get me wrong, it will be one of the best games of next year and it could be even better than the first one, but you can see they are just refurnishing the same house. Thats totally not a bad thing – it's the way the industry does 2 and/or 3rd entry. They just polish, ad a new story and everybody is happy. Extremely productive way to make a game. They were supposed to deliver this last year for PS5 launch and made it cross gen (that is why the visuals are looking a lot like the first one). But then they decided to go Insomniac way… Divide the studio to two teams: one will take God of War and make a new one for the PS5 launch and the second team will work on new IP. And according to the last nights interview with the two directors of Santa Monica, that is exactly what happened, but not all went the way they wanted. And COVID-19 happened. So, GoW Ragnarok got extremely delayed and the new – full PS5 experience – was not even showed yet. What is your opinion on this, PushSquare? Looks like the same thing Insomniac is doing (Miles Morales is like a standalone large DLC and the new Ratchet was the full PS5 experience…) Maybe you can try to analyse this new trend and try to dig into it? To be honest, new Horizon looks like it's pretty much build on the first one too. It is in the development since march 2017 and definitely was supposed to come for PS5 launch. Could they be split on two projects as well? Can we anticipate a new Killzone next fall or early 2023? What do you guys think?

Re: eFootball's PS5, PS4 Gameplay Trailer Is Bizarre

mrmartinrohr

Whole thing looks like 10 or even more years old. Especially love those midfield sequences with wide-angle lens that has unrealistically shallow depth of field. The technical quality of the graphics and animations is the most embarrassing thing for me.

Re: DIRT 5 Revamps PS5 DualSense Support and 3D Audio in Next Week's Huge Content Update

mrmartinrohr

So… The review of F1 2021 did not properly mention the Dualsence integration. Is it like the DIRT 5 was before or is it better? Or is the DIRT's gonna be better after this update. TBH I only played one game supporting the Dualsense yet – the PS5 version of Wreckfest. And I don't like the integration there. Still better than nothing, but other games do it much better. As a Playstation only medium I think you should cover the PS5 features a bit more if it's possible. I had to run thru something like 10 other revies for F1 2021 to finally read more complex breakdown of the Dualsense integration. Thanks

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds Accounted for Less than 0.5% of Launch Period Sales

mrmartinrohr

I got the refund and the interesting part is that they communicated it in a way to convince people it’s not worth the hustle. Like they stated multiple times that you’ll have to send them the game back and you’ll be given informations about how to do it in the future. The overall process took some time and there were something like 4 stages where you had to do something. And if you don’t use PayPal, the whole process got even more complicated… Super-glad I went thru it because I really don’t know what I would be doing with it. Keeping it on my shelf till they fix it? The game is gonna cost peanuts by then…

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 Patch Coming Within 10 Days, Native PS5 Version Set for Second Half of 2021

mrmartinrohr

PS5 version was advertised as "coming in early 2021" before the launch and the wording they chose sounded like it will happen somewhere in the January-February time window, and now we're looking at a September–November 2021. Wow. On the positive news – I received my refund for the PS4 physical version directly from CDProjekt RED via PayPal. So it really worked.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4) - The Single Biggest Disappointment of the PS4 Generation

mrmartinrohr

@KundaliniRising333 This is SPOT ON! There is actually no reason for the game to run this badly. It is not revolutionary in any way and your point about the next-gen/pcs is so true. If this released last year, nobody in the world could play it as intended.

I don't mind toned-down graphics, but the NPC/car density is lowered so much, it impacts the overall feeling and the gameplay too.

This game is really hard to Score objectively that I don't envy you guys had to actually come with THE NUMBER.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's Multiplayer and DLC Not the Focus, As CDPR Preps Rescue Mission

mrmartinrohr

@Old-Red And they will release a game in 2027, that will feel like a 2021 game. That's just a side effect of these development cycles when they try to make the biggest and best game of all time. Maybe just make a smaller game if it is too much to handle for you? They really should think about the future in long term, because it is going in the direction I'm describing and it will be baaaaad for everybody.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's Multiplayer and DLC Not the Focus, As CDPR Preps Rescue Mission

mrmartinrohr

@jmac1686 If we take into account that this spring, they pushed the game to September, but said: it's more or less finished – you can play thru the game but it still needs polishing. Then it was delayed twice again and here we are in mid-December with an unfinished game, who knows.

I'm really sorry for all of the departments at CDPR that have nothing to do with this mess and made their best work in time – this situation must be really hard for them.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's Multiplayer and DLC Not the Focus, As CDPR Preps Rescue Mission

mrmartinrohr

CDPR 2021-2022 road plan:
January–March: fixing the mess
April–June: Next-Gen versions
July–September: first small DLC (more side missions)
October–November: Witcher 3 PS5 version
December–April 2022: a bigger DLC – you will play as the most beloved character in the game based on feedback
May 2022: Broken Multiplayer release
June–August 2022: Multiplayer fixing and apologising
September 2022: First CG trailer of a game that is planned for 2025, but will release in 2027 absolutely broken, just because they will – again – try to make the best, the largest and most complicated game to the last detail that will not work at the release just because it is really hard to combine all of this without some issues.

The game will also launch at the end of this console cycle and the game will run like garbage on base PS5.

Disclaimer: I do have a crystal ball.

Re: Kojima Productions Will Mark Fifth Anniversary with 'Exciting Updates' Tomorrow

mrmartinrohr

It would just kill them to say "Yes, we are making PS5 version of DS, but it will take a bit, bc we're making a new game for you guys" or "There will be no PS5 version, sorry guys…"

Just keep people in expectation of nothing. That is awesome and it sells more games too. I will definitely buy Death Stranding now, not knowing if this will or won't happen. (Don't know if my sarcastic English works, sorry guys…)

Re: Reaction: Cyberpunk 2077 Debacle Proves Sony Needs a Better PS Store Refund Policy

mrmartinrohr

@Chaosbros as you submit a game to the store, Sony could make the cool-off period based on the price of the game. 3 hours for every game thats listed above $40, 2 hours for everything above $30, 1 hour for games above $20 and 0.5 hour for games under that. This way everybody gets a fair enviroment. EASY. But Sony would not get their money guaranteed, so that's not an option for them. F-king monopoly.

Re: Reaction: Cyberpunk 2077 Debacle Proves Sony Needs a Better PS Store Refund Policy

mrmartinrohr

Pushsquare: one thing that bothers me on this site for years is, that you only use the ”official screenshots” from devs/publishers here. It always was something that I did not like but got over it. But with Cyberpunk 2077, you are putting up a lot of post-launch coverage and those fake/high-end PC screenshots that you are putting here when you are writing about the PS4 version just look silly. Would be great, if you used actual screens from the PS4 version with all its ugliness.

Re: Reaction: Cyberpunk 2077 Debacle Proves Sony Needs a Better PS Store Refund Policy

mrmartinrohr

And the thing is, that every game that gets on PS Store has to run thru PS and they have to check the technical state before puting it into the store to see if the game even runs. They just checked the 1.00 state of the Cyberpunk and decided its good enough and put it on the store (with CDPR promising it will get better on launch) and it clearly is not ok. So this is a PS Store problem too and they really should make an exception here and refund all the unsatisfied customers on PS4.

Re: Reaction: Cyberpunk 2077 Debacle Proves Sony Needs a Better PS Store Refund Policy

mrmartinrohr

On Apple app store on mac, you can get a refund on software because it lacks the features that you expected due to the lack of complete information in the store. It’s almost impossible to give people all the information they need when they buy a sofisticated software and what should a customer do with it, when it´s not working the way he expected?! This works there and I have used this option last month after two day usage of the software. Just makes sence. If Sony wants more people on their store, they should do something about this. Even the two hour limit seems too short, hence you will never (almost) finish a game in 2 hours anyway. You are just buying something that has 5 fake printscreens on some digital store with a three paragraph description and what are you supposed to do with it when you cańt even sell it? You just have a licence to use something that physically does not exist and you can do absolutely nothing about it. Thats why I only buy super cheap games on sale there…

Re: PS5 Brute Force Fixes Cyberpunk 2077's PS4 Technical Problems

mrmartinrohr

It’s awesome that people are so thankful that it runs smoothly on PS5. It runs smooth on my PS5, but it’s buggy and looks like a PS4 launch game most of the times. The population/car density is the worst part for me. And shadows?! For artistic reasons, every material in the game is reflective and reflects something, but there are no shadows under characters in a 2020 game. Oh wait! In some scenes they are… This game on PS5 is like playing a DVD in a Bluray drive on 8K TV and being glad that it runs smoothy… What a technical mess. The best part was when it crashed on me literary 10 seconds after getting into a game yesterday. And the worst part is that the game itself is not that good either.
