If pre-release trailers and coverage have done enough to convince you to pre-order Returnal, you can get ahead of the game by pre-loading the PlayStation 5 exclusive right now. Of course, you must have pre-ordered on the PS Store to enable this functionality, but those who haven't yet still have the option to do so between now and the 30th April 2021 release date. Then you'll be ready to play at midnight. Returnal weighs in at exactly 56.101GB, so you'll want to set aside a bit of time to get it fully downloaded.
If you haven't already, check out our Returnal Hands On feature, where we share our first impressions based on the game's first two Biomes. We will also have a full review for you to read prior to launch. Have you pre-loaded Returnal yet? Send us through a loop in the comments below.

Cool! waiting for some reviews first before making my purchase.
The price is the only reason I'm not picking this "for the f*cking full price". I simply don't know if I love the game yet.
It'd be nice if they continue like this - a week to preload before release date like MS have been doing. That 2 days to release preload is quite inconvenient.
@mrmartinrohr. Yes you do. Love the game because you just left a comment for it. PlayStation access 50 minutes gameplay was the icing on the š cake for me returnal looks amazing.word up son
My resolve is caving. The desire to not endorse the new pricing strategy is paling against my desire to get this game on my telly!
EDIT: Although I look, from the outside, like a fully grown adult, when it comes to resisting video games I desire I'm worse than a kid!
Definitely not paying Ā£70 for the digital version that cannot be traded.
At least the physical version may yield about Ā£50 when traded.
Where are people getting this from for sub Ā£70?
Thatās a big one, waiting for reviews on this, fingers crossed š¤
No pre-load for me as I was the physical copy so I can sell it back to GameStop if I end up not liking it as much as I hope to.
BTW if you have the ebay app, you can currently get Ā£10 off, so you can snap this up for Ā£53 physical until Monday if you want this but not engaged with the Ā£70
Preloading now!!! To those who are āwaiting for a saleā āwishing this was on ps+ā or feel like itās too expensive please save your comments! Itās time to get hype!!!
Pre-ordered at Gamestop. Can't wait!!!!!!
I know what I'm doing a week today š.
Iāll be waiting until after I beat Nier Replicant to play this, but Iāve got it pre-loaded and ready to go for when that day comes!
Add me to the waiting for price drop crew. A demo prior to release could help get people hooked and willing to spend 70 bucks. Well, if you are confident in it I guess.
@PaperAlien Do you mean the 10% discount, or an actual Ā£10 discount? I'd buy it now at Ā£53, but can't get it. Cheapest I cna find on eBay is Ā£63ish, but it won't let me apply the PARCEL10 voucher.
@PossibLeigh In the actual ebay app, you can get a whole Ā£10 off, theres should be a bit that says "take Ā£10 off this purchase" Im not sure if its a first time buying through the app thing or not
I'll buy it on release. I hate having a game installed on my system for however long that I can't even play. I used to pre-load Nintendo games a lot up until recently and seeing the game just sitting there drove me nuts.
@munstre its def there, I used it to buy Resident Evil village. Is the seller you're buying eligible for the discount, only some are it seems. Try search BossDeals. A link to a screenshot to show you where it would be https://ibb.co/JBZWpk8
@PaperAlien Could be, as I'm only getting the 10% offer in app. Still, good bargain hunting, dude!
@TheArt How slow is your internet? Two full days not enough i feel sorry for you. š¤Ŗ
@Flaming_Kaiser More to do with using cheap midnight data, not really about speed, daytime data is expensive.
Hi there fellow gamers.
56.101GB????
Wow, that is a bit more than I was expecting. By a LOT.
Gonna have to delete a game or two š
Hope you guys who preload the game have it as quickly and as soon as possible on your PS5s.
IĀ“ll be getting mine physical copy on launch day.
CanĀ“t wait for next Friday.
Cheers, stay safe good folks and happy gaming to us all
Downloaded and ready to go. š
@TheArt Is that a thing really where do you live the US? If so then i really feel sorry for you a cheap rate for internet data what a joke. The free market the biggest scam ever nothing gets cheaper.
Seeing a lot of comments about not paying full price. At some point we all need to support the Devs that make these games so that they are successful and make more great games. Back in the day when we could go to the cinema we'd happily drop Ā£20 to catch a film (including snacks etc) for an experience that's over in a couple of hours. Modern games provide 30+ hours of entertainment so even at full price Ā£70 they're good value.
Needless to say, I've pre-ordered and can't wait for the next gen goodness. The game looks awesome and all previews are saying hugely positive things.
@Abarth_71 Do they deliver in launch date or will it be a wait?
I see quite a few comments on here about doing the price comparison and finding the game for sub Ā£65. However, will these stores be able to get the game to me on launch date?
When you have little free time, a spare Friday evening is rare and to play a game for 4 hours or so. If the shop can't get the game to me until Monday perhaps, then I'll be sitting with it in the cellophane until the following weekend whilst reading the (hopefully) amazing impressions of others.
Does a anyone know if the likes of Asda and Tesco will have this physically in their stores? They will likely be Ā£64.99 or similar.
