@MemSec Exactly the same here. Had around 60 physical PS4 games in my backlog that I never played and with the PS5 on the doorstep I decided to let most of them go… Sad…
Crashed on me once. Same for Godfall so far. Nothing extraordinary… The whole system runs much faster than PS4 did and for a launch timeframe, it's pretty stable.
I really like this game. The cutscenes/dialogs and story are probably one of the worst in years, but the combat is awesome! Can anyone recommend me something like this? I saw someone talking about Monster Hunter? I generally don't play a lot of games with swords and monsters, but I played and enjoyed God of War, so maybe I should try some titles? Thanks!
I'm only going with digital when the game is in a ridiculous sale. Mostly on older titles. Never bought a new title because it's more pricey on PSStore and there is zero chance of selling the game if it's crappy.
Exactly this happened to me three hours ago. Also, the Disc version looks like its falling on the left side thanks to the additional drive. But I have to say it looks better in person. And the controller is absolutely the biggest enhancement for me.
That's awesome. On PS6 there will be this option and the update is only going to download for the modes you have installed. For now, we'll just have to stick with downloading 20 GB updates that will update the multiplayer you don't have anymore and a few things in the singleplayer. Or am I wrong? That is something that's almost the same importance as the feature to delete those modes.
Wow. Divided community again… One half says that ”nobody cares” and the other half is making a huge problem out of this. Whole point is that Sony said there will be BC and there will be huge testing of every compatible game. Up until recently, nobody knew how many games will work. Then they stated that 99.9 % will work and then they released the list of 10–or–so games that won't work. If there are growing concerns that more titles are not completely compatible I would like to know why, and how much. The communication could be better. And there is one thing that kills the ”just keep your PS4 to play PS4 games” opinion – the boost that EVERY game that's played, gets. Even if it means only a better framerate and faster loading in the older PS4 titles – it's still there and PS5 will be ”the best place to play” performance-wise. So it's not just a BC with the same experience – it's enhanced. Why would I keep PS4 then?
This actually means that they are crippling the PS4 version visuals to the point where it can get 30 fps at 900p and it will run on PS5 at this settings just at higher resolution and framerate and we will get a "proper next-gen" experience next year. If so, this is real bad news and I will cancel the preorder… OMG
CDPR just please release the upgraded PS5 version on the 10th of December. Hybrid 4K high quality visuals mode with unlocked framerate aiming at 30-40 fps. Would be lovely. Thanks.
Do you think we have something to do with this change? Can remember how everybody here – including me – was like "This is 70 bucks? Thats gonna be a flop…"
When on a game page, the header image is awesome, but there is literally zero pictures or videos from game. WTF. Otherwise i lie the new version. (Everybody can read the title name of the game in the image, but with more than one editions it gets confusing easily.)
Just a thought. What if the version released on 19th of November is already upgraded to PS5 visualy (better framerate, visuals and resolution), but it does not support all the PS5 UI panels and progress bars ands stuff, so it's not possible to call it a "PS5 upgraded" in Playstation official language? Otherwise I don't understand why would it took them so long to make the update. The game is already Gold and is made for PC with beautiful graphics, so the PS4 version is running on some medium specs at 30 pfs and 1080p. Now I understand that it takes some time with testing and optimalisation but it should be possible to take the Full PC version and then cripple it a little bit to get dynamic 4K with 30 pfs aim (uncapped) and beautiful, but not full visuals? Or they want to use the hardware accelerated ray tracing and that is why it will take this long?
@FedoraTheAura yeah you're not alone, I don't have Plus either and I already backuped the saves to a USB stick, so I'll just have to wait and see I guess. No info on that anywhere.
The only way this trailer was "touched up" was to downgrade it, I guess. The only thing looking next-gen like is the scenery. There are missing shadows even under main characters – wtf. I mean, I'm not here to hate, but there is something that bothers me graphically in almost every shot. Like when they are walking in water, and there are no splashes like in a 2003 game. And when these two dudes go thru snow and they leave no steps there. When the leader dude walks on an invisible plane above the wooden floor and the shadow under him looks like it's in the air. When their arm collides inside each other. Am I the only one who is bothered by this? Its 2020 and its coming for PS5. And what about those animations? Yeah, nobody matcher Naughty dog, but this is 20 levels below them. Is it me?
Its a game that would run 4K60 on pretty much everythig, so Sony, when short on PS5 dev kits this spring, probably asked them, to develop for the PS4/PS4 Pro and use the back compability feature of PS5. This would mean one more Dev kit for “real next gen game” left and everybody would be happy. Then the developer sent them to hell and there you go – no FM on PS.
I just hope for the first party games to save the day, because just higher framerate and resolution will not sell the new system. Sony and Microsoft will surely notice that…
This whole "you can play you game on old–new–and future console" thing is stopping the progress od game industry. I get that publishers want to make use of the PS4 and XOne player base which is much bigger then the new one (zero) but this kind of attitude will just slow down all the progress we have seen in previous console generations. For me, the next-gen is yet absolutely indistinguishable from the current-gen… Sad
The Bloodlines game looks really like an average PS3 game. Did not see anything new or even next-gen looking. AC Valhalla looked the best, but there are still PS4 games that look much better.
@carlos82 Yeah, it actually looks like something that should be pretty possible in late phase of PS5 cycle. Too bad it's gonna look exactly as the last AS did on PS4 with just a few tweaks.
I'm just excited to see anything from the new gen. But at the same time I expect the first wave of third party games to be cross-gen which will result in games that look kinda good but will not take the full advantage of the new system capabilities as they were presented by Mark Cerny. Ok, the DualSence will shake a bit better and the loading times will be faster, but for truly next gen experience we'll just have to wait a bit…
The length of the development with the additional cast recruiting we saw last year it look like its taking this long to make the game just because what sounded as a good story plot at first, was then reconsidered and they had to do a lot of "reshooting" last year to make the game a bit more consumable by the mainstream. And we just have to pray, these leaked videos were prom the "previous version". You all think this is possible? I just HOPE so. (Didn't saw these spoilers but I can pretty much guess what was there…)
@Richnj Yep, updated. It was actually a pretty sad story back then. Crytek told everybody in 2007 that the game is too technically advanced and hardware demanding that it's impossible to bring it to consoles. And then the second installment hit the PS3 and it was running perfectly. Anyway, I played it on PC back in 2007 and then on PS3 in 2013 and I'll be definitely buying this. Never played the Warhead expansion tho, don’t know why…
I don't even hope we will ever get to play this… COVID will get me first…
Just gonna leave this updated statistics here: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune – November 2007 (25+ months in development) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – October 2009 (24+ months in development) Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception – November 2011 (25+ months in development) The Last of Us – June 2013 (18+ months in development) Uncharted 4: A Thief's End – May 2016 (35+ months in development) The Last of Us Part II – May 2020 (In may it's going to be 48+ months in development)
Let's just hope it's gonna be 2,5 times better that the first TLOU…
I just hope they are commenting that just to assure everyone it will run ok, but they are making the game with Pro and PS5 in their mind for the whole time. All of the assets ready for all three systems so it won't be only ”bigger resolution and higher framerate” on the PS5. This could be a good selling point for the PS5 as well. Along with the launch titles, they could promote their latest games with ”super-enhanced for the PS5” label.
WOW! This is the exact reason I decided to cancel my subscription and get a refund right after I got the mail my year sub was automatically renewed this weekend. Holy cow, this is bad. And it is not going to be better.
