Expecting the worst but hoping for the best 🤞🏻

I’m on the final level of Halo - it’s a game of two halves for sure, with the earlier levels being easily the best. It’s become a bit of a frustrating gauntlet at points in the later levels with some endless mobs and cheap deaths. I’ve still enjoyed it a lot though. Looking forward to getting started on the second one.

I’m finally playing Halo, having picked up the collection in a recent sale. This game is actually really good, I can see why it was so popular at the time. I knew the combat would feel similar to Destiny, but I am surprised by how much it does.. and this was in 2001?!

As if Killzone was ever supposed to be a Halo killer 😂

@Uromastryx yeah most of my frustration comes from Zanarkand. Appreciate the rest of them are not that long tbf. (There is one other that always trips me up too but I can’t remember which it is off the top of my head!)

I’d hop about the Destiny train a third time, I reckon! The games can be a lot of fun.

X is good, it’s a struggle to go back to though. Large parts of it are just not a lot of fun to play through. The puzzle temples in particular, yuck…

Love me some Besaid Island and Mi'ihen Highroad, though! Maybe one day I’ll play through it again…

It's good, I am early days - I think around level 10. The problem is, I can see to really enjoy taking on the harder enemies, I am going to have to squad up, which I don't mind doing. It's just I don't know anyone else (or 2 other people, specifically) who I could team up with regularly in order to develop the necessary tactics, and I can only really play a couple of hours a week. I bet the game really shines if you have a solid group who run together regularly, though.

Still, it's fun creeping around on your own, and occasionally getting into a fire fight.

Not too surprising the way game development seems to be these days, and expectations are massive. It’ll still launch with loads of crazy problems, I am under no illusions there. I just really want it to be a hit in the same way Skyrim was (and continues to be).

@IMustardMitt you mean, free market? I agree. Regulation isn’t needed here, use your common sense when purchasing.

I’ve been playing Resident Evil Revelations (1), the campaign is proving quite fun! I am also playing Resident Evil 5 with a friend online, probably my 5th play through - trying professional difficulty 🫣

@IntrepidWombat I think you can pre-load if you preorder, no? Not bad really, if you want to get cracking straight away and you know you are getting it (reviews be damned!), since the game is likely to be a huge download. Also you get a skin so.. there is that.

Looking forward to this, I really enjoyed 7 but can’t get into 8. Fingers crossed it’s good!

I have been playing some Revelations 2 recently. I would like them to make a 3rd, with an even better Raid mode, of course!

All fair points but let’s not pretend the vast majority of human creative effort is any less derivative, it’s just the way she goes. The way she goes. My feeling is that for most people the bigger factors driving anti-AI sentiment are simply a loss of jobs and an ick factor associated with consuming AI media, regardless of quality.

After my third run at it I finally got into Diablo 4 properly and finished the campaign. I was struggling to follow it previously for whatever reason and fell off. Actually enjoyed it a lot in the end. I’ll be playing some more of that, for sure - and I’ll probably get the expansion too.

Just need to finish the Diablo 2 campaign now and I have done them all!

Worst generation ever huh. Still, looking forward to playing the games I bought through it at a locked 60fps/4k! 🤞🏻

Yikes. Probably better to stagger the launch across the world over a week or two if you are not going to ensure you’re set up for the launch day crunch.

I guess they simply don’t care and better to get the game out and sold, it’s not like this is their first rodeo… they are banking on people forgetting once it’s settled down, which is probably true enough.

I saw some gameplay a few weeks ago, at first I thought it looked excellent but after watching for a while it seems a bit boring to play.

I have had my eye on Possessor(s), it looks much more interesting than HLB.

For the record, HLD is one of my favourite games for sure. I was stoked for it through the Kickstarter and it delivered..!

I feel like this is probably a bit of a nonsense story for a sleepy Sunday, but nonetheless Xbox are in a hole right now, one they have dug for themselves, which is a shame because we’d all benefit from Sony and Nintendo being under heavy pressure by them.

Oh right, I thought they were asking for an always online connection to play. But a download as part of the install? No bother for most people, really.

This is a touch, I have been wanting to play the OG as I didn’t get into it back in the day. I have it on my Steam Deck but without native controller support I have not really bothered with it. Looking forward to getting it on PS5, then!

Guys, you’ve been around years now. How you’ve yet to work out a 100% perfect scoring system that accurately balances every game against every other, accounting for all genres, budgets, systems and other factors, while weighing it solely against its own merits PLUS factoring for the passage of time AND individual preference with a margin for human error is beyond me. Sort your sh*t out, it’s a joke, and this is just too important.

FF9 remake, guaranteed. Then HL3, of course.

I do want to get this, but I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to Silent Hill games in particular, and I have been playing SH2 remake since Christmas and still not finished it. The plan is to get that done within a year and then SH:F might be on sale. There are simply very few games I’d be prepared to pay £60+ for!

I tried to get into this quite hard on PS2, but just found it a bit of a mess. I guess Counter-Strike had spoilt me! Perhaps it was a lot more fun if they were all on the same bus shouting at each other, though!!

I’ve just seen the credits roll on Axiom Verge 2 - really enjoyed it, glad I went back and gave it another go after bouncing off it at launch.

It is quite different to the first one for sure, but that’s the point, and I can now see it doesn’t deserve some of the negative reviews it got as a result.

I’d probably have to replay the first one to see if I think it’s “better”, it has been about 10 years… it could well be though!

They must have tested it enough to know this was a problem, no? It’s mad that they would rather the PR nightmare and rush out a subsequent patch, versus sort it for launch or be up front about it before hand.

I guess in reality it’s a minority of buyers who actually notice and complain so they figure what the heck.

@somnambulance good shout on AV2! I got it on the Deck and I’ve played for a good 6 hours straight today. I stopped playing after 20 minutes last time, glad I gave it another go.. it has been bugging me a little, how I left it before.

Couple of hours in, what a nice game. I liked the last one but I don’t remember it making such a strong first impression. The environments seem a lot more inviting, the general ambience is excellent. The main character is cool. I like it! Disappointed I won’t get a chance to play more until Monday now.

Fell off the first after 20+ enjoyable hours, and for the price of entry, sure, I have bitten for the sequel!
