Re: Battlefield 6 Server Queues Are Absolutely Humongous on Launch Day

kyleforrester87

Yikes. Probably better to stagger the launch across the world over a week or two if you are not going to ensure you’re set up for the launch day crunch.

I guess they simply don’t care and better to get the game out and sold, it’s not like this is their first rodeo… they are banking on people forgetting once it’s settled down, which is probably true enough.

Guys, you’ve been around years now. How you’ve yet to work out a 100% perfect scoring system that accurately balances every game against every other, accounting for all genres, budgets, systems and other factors, while weighing it solely against its own merits PLUS factoring for the passage of time AND individual preference with a margin for human error is beyond me. Sort your sh*t out, it’s a joke, and this is just too important.

So how is the music? 😂 for real though, the originals have killer scores that I listen to quite regularly!

I do want to get this, but I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to Silent Hill games in particular, and I have been playing SH2 remake since Christmas and still not finished it. The plan is to get that done within a year and then SH:F might be on sale. There are simply very few games I’d be prepared to pay £60+ for!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 599

kyleforrester87

I’ve just seen the credits roll on Axiom Verge 2 - really enjoyed it, glad I went back and gave it another go after bouncing off it at launch.

It is quite different to the first one for sure, but that’s the point, and I can now see it doesn’t deserve some of the negative reviews it got as a result.

I’d probably have to replay the first one to see if I think it’s “better”, it has been about 10 years… it could well be though!

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Hollow Knight: Silksong?

kyleforrester87

Couple of hours in, what a nice game. I liked the last one but I don’t remember it making such a strong first impression. The environments seem a lot more inviting, the general ambience is excellent. The main character is cool. I like it! Disappointed I won’t get a chance to play more until Monday now.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on Metal Gear Solid 5, 10 Years Later?

kyleforrester87

It was lots of fun, although I think overall I enjoyed GZ more. My expectations for that were quite low, but I found so much re-playability in the small area, and I was super stoked for a huge world with the same mechanics and an awesome story. And while we got the world, perhaps it felt too big in the end, and the story... well, the less said about that the better. I still feel let down about that after the awesome trailer tbh.

Good, but could have been so, so much better.

I’ve been playing Tomb Raider 1 (remastered) all week, first time playing in close to 30 years - what a fantastic game. They really don’t make them like this anymore, the franchise (and games in general) could learn a thing or two from it.

I also started playing Resident Evil 3 since the OG versions became available on PS5.

Finally some Deus Ex Human Revolution on Steamdeck, which I can’t believe I played in 2011 (?). Also funny that it’s set in 2027. The game is a lot goofier than it felt back when I originally played it. I have Mankind Divided ready to go afterwards, and also picked up Alan Wake for 79p in a sale yesterday 🫣

Re: Oblivion Remastered Still Broken and Buggy on PS5, Even After Patch 1.2

kyleforrester87

What is the Push Square verdict, any of the staff tried it for themselves?

Personally, pre-patch I had a lot of hitching that occurred outside of towns, every 20-30 seconds. After the patch this has completely stopped, at least in the 5-6 hours I played and in the areas I played. There are still frame drops but I don’t find this too distracting myself.

I do tend to play it in relatively short stints though, and close it completely between sessions. Perhaps this helps.

Re: GTA 4 PS5, PS4 Port Rumours Continue to Pick Up Pace

kyleforrester87

@DTfearTheBEARD there may lie my problem then. I got the below very cheap dock, although it reviewed alright, I am using a “generic” HDMI cable (I am afraid I do not know the spec, but it was not purchased with intent) and my TV is a great (for 2016!) Samsung KS7000.

I guess if I had confidence my TV would play nice with an official dock and a high end HDMI cable I could consider splashing out..

Re: GTA 4 PS5, PS4 Port Rumours Continue to Pick Up Pace

kyleforrester87

@DTfearTheBEARD cool thanks, I will look forward to picking it up! I have learnt not to be too phased by poor frame rates but 45fps always looks great on the smaller Steam Deck screen. It looks basically as smooth as 60fps to my eye.

I have not had great experiences playing games on the Deck through my TV. Annoying HDMI issues, no sound. That’s before even trying to mess with the settings to get an optimum picture. I think I am fated to always play in handheld mode

Re: Oblivion Remastered Patch 1.2 Detailed, Adds New Difficulty Options, Improves Performance, More

kyleforrester87

Sweet! It’s my first time playing Oblivion and I am really enjoying it. 20-30 hours in. The performance is pretty terrible sometimes but I don’t really care, I just chose not to let it bother me. Glad to hear it should be getting a boost though, but tbh I would be surprised if it makes a huge difference.

I have a few magic items, and when I equip them my character carries a weird effect. Such as being on fire. I am sure this is a bug? Would be nice if they could fix that, for sure…
