Y'know what? We've been so busy this week we forgot it was a milestone edition of WAYP this week. Well, drat! We were going to do something special as well! Oh well, we'll put the festivities on pause for another 100 issues. See you in 2027, folks!
Craig Reid
After a long week, I fancy getting my teeth into Black Myth: Wukong. The game’s an odd one, really. I’ve had it for at least five months now, and I’ve wanted to play it for most of that time. Just… didn’t. These past few weeks I’ve been reading Monkey King, a literary novel all about Sun Wukong. It’s been great fun and exactly what I needed to finally install the game and dive into all sorts of pole-swinging monkey business. It’s a great game, that’s for sure. So the plan is: snacks, Black Myth: Wukong, and a little bit of Silent Hill 2 when I fancy spicing things up. Happy gaming, folks!

I'm juggling both Sonic Racing CrossWorlds and Hollow Knight: Silksong as I slowly make my way towards the challenge of Act 3. I also plan to jump back into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl ahead of the PS5 launch in November!

As the last weekend in September, I want to play the PS1's Mega Man 8 in the Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, as its part of my gaming resolutions to play 12 1997 PS1 Games in 2025. However, I'll also play the sixth game in the first Legacy Collection, because the NES's Mega Man 6 has a six in its title, so it's my way of saying congratulations to Push Square for reaching its WAYP 600 milestone!
Liam Croft
I'll be doing some cleanup work in Ghost of Yotei, and finally getting around to properly playing Hollow Knight: Silksong. Happy 600 everyone!
Sorry if it's an uneventful Issue 600, folks, but yours truly needs to sleep. Pop open the champagne and get celebrating in the comments section below!

This week I have finished Marvel's Spider-Man again So now I have started Spider-Man 2 and this time I will do ALL content!
And unfortunately, Silksong does not have a physical release yet, so I will be playing Hollow Knight and I will aim for the true ending this time!
Happy gaming, everyone!!!
@Zuljaras was quicker than me by 4 seconds. I'm getting better each week.
I've platinumed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 so today I started the remake of Trails In The Sky: 1st Chapter. I've played the original on my PSP halfway through and I've enjoyed it thoroughly. I'm at the beginning of the remake but I can already see the effort poured into it and it feels like those cozy old school JRPGs we all loved so much growing up.
Have a nice gaming weekend, folks!
After 249hrs I’ve finally managed to get the Gold Completionist trophy on Balatro. That pesky Stuntman joker took forever to unlock and ages to discover. Will be playing multiple decks and stakes as always as well as the fantastic Inscryption, absolutely love this game.
I’ve purchased Silent Hill F with its amazing steelbook but that won’t be started until the family are out which is Sunday.
Still chugging on with Diablo III as well, level 16 Barbarian and think these sort of games are amazing. Just wish I discovered the genre years ago.
Along with a few beers and football that’s me sorted ✔️
Have a great gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
@Czar_Khastik so close!
I’ll be cross-referencing the various Lords of the Fallen armour pieces that I’ve collected to this point against all 342 available within the game. Then when I identify one that I don’t have… go and farm for it. Once I have all 342, that’ll be the platinum!
Probably the best game I’ve played all year and one of the best souls-likes that I’ve ever played too… brilliant game!
Silent Hill f and having a blast with it, so good to have SH back in the fore front of gaming again! Between this and Cronos, us horror fans are eating good.
Dipping into Carto. And then… nothing on the backlog.
A return to Deep Rock Galactic? ROCK AND STONE!
Happy 600th 🎉
A little Diablo 4 for me
Maybe an hour or two of Nightreign tonight with my friends, but otherwise I'm still on a bit of a detox this weekend, and it's working too.
I've hardly played anything in two weeks, and my hype for some upcoming games increases every day because of it.
Well, first of all, happy 600th edition of WAYP! That's an achievement and a half. This weekly article was a big factor in my signing up for a Push Square account - the friendly community of generally good-humoured gaming enthusiasts drew me in, and I've never regretted it. Reading everyone's gaming experiences here is something I look forward to every week.
As to myself this weekend, I will be continuing to play The Messenger, which has kept me enraptured throughout. Nearing the end now, but then just discovered there's a free DLC level to enjoy as well - which is fine by me! It's rapidly becoming one of my favourite games I've played this year. The 2D platforming action is perfection, with an almost puzzle element at times in the way you have to perform movements technically to surmount obstacles. Often I've realised I was having trouble with a particular section because I was approaching it with the wrong strategy. Even with the right strategy there are still times when you'll be retrying sections so often you'll start to mix-up the controls, but checkpoints are always close enough by that the net effect is 'one more go, I will beat this!', rather than rage quitting. Not that I haven't come close at times 😅
Have a great weekend everyone.
@Onearmbandit You too, but one of these weeks we'll beat him!
I'm playing Sonic Racing Crossworlds and having an absolute blast, even more so now I've unlocked Super Sonic Speed. To me the handling feels somewhere between a normal kart racer and Sega's own classic arcade racing games
Avowed: reached level 20 and have entered Galawain's Tusks.
Euro Truck Simulator 2: Delivered pumps from Graz to Prague. Delivered carrots from Prague to Budapest for the melted snowman festival. Delivered excess medical vaccines donated by RFK from Budapest to Lublin. Delivered harvesting bins from Lublin to Krakow. Delivered barley from Krakow to Debrecen. Bought a 3 truck garage in Prague. After 78 days my Ziggurat Spedition trucking empire has 22 trucks.
Hollow Knight: defeated the Gruz Mother and opened Sly's shop in Dirtmouth.
The Legend of Zelda: have just started the game and built myself up to 6 hearts before tacking the first dungeon.
Monster Train: won as Umbra allied with Stygian Guard and levelled the clan up to Level 10 and Primordium up to Superfood III. Lost as Umbra allied with Melting Remnant.
Lies of P: currently Level 68. Defeated the boss in the Estrella Opera House, cleared the Lorenzini Arcade, and have just reached the Grand Exhibition Plaza.
@Czar_Khastik Come on! Where were you last week when I was on vacation!? Golden opportunity missed!!!
I just finished the Mass Effect Legendary edition trilogy. Don't really have a desire to play anything right now tbh
On PS5 i will be playing Borderlands 4, Trails in the Sky, Silent Hill F and Atelier Resleriana.
On Switch 2 it's just Star Wars Outlaws for me this weekend.
Silent Hill F, as a fan since the original, I'm very impressed with what they've done here. Feels original yet faithful to the themes of the series.
@Czar_Khastik It'd be easier to beat a tag team of Ornstein and Smough and the Orphan of Kos!
@Lord_Malice Hinako is already becoming a really good SH protagonist (in my eyes at least)
After all those years I finally started playing Bloodborne and I instantly connected with it. I’ve already beaten 7 bosses in my first week and I’m loving every second of it. I especially like the aggressive style this game demands.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: Having explored a little of Gizeh and almost all of the Vatican, I'm truly impressed by the level of detail, be it in the cobblestone courtyards or the Sistine Chapel and even the basilicas, but also in the excellent side quests that see you hunting shrines or helping nuns. All of it feels like the films, and Troy Baker does a very credible Harrison Ford impersonation.
I'm thoroughly pleased I picked this up.
Possibly gonna continue FF VIII Remastered for a couple of hours. After that i'm gonna do some cleaning with my room and then just relax / watching Alien Earth episode 8.
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
@Czar_Khastik Don't worry Zorn, we know you'll be first when we are all playing FF9 remake 🤡🤡
Shinobi Art of Vengeance is done, although I might keep coming back for a crack at the boss rush.
Suikoden II remaster next, one of my favourite games ever. I'm looking forward to taking my time with this as the nights draw in.
Happy 600 and have a nice weekend everybody.
baby steps, hell is us and gunbird. i’m liking baby steps a lot but i think i should start ignoring the trophies before i give myself a stroke. beyond games i’ll be painting model kits .
Finally getting to the 100% of Borderlands 4 after over 130 hours and boy oh boy is that world boring.
Finally beat Sekiro, got the Shura Ending. Read it's one of the hardest in the way of final battles, no wonder it almost felt impossible. Back to the lovely Cyberpunk 2077. Plus my GOTY Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - which I'm really taking my sweet time savouring it all, what a beautiful game.
More of the usual post-game grind in Fantasy Life i, namely hosting more Treasure Groves via multiplayer.
Also continuing my progress with Doraemon edition of Picross on Switch (on No Assist difficulty). Finished mega picross mode last night, thus starting colour picross mode. Not sure if I'll be able to finish that and also clip picross mode ahead of playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 next week, but no big deal of course.
Hope y'all have a great weekend!
Nowt this week, im in sunny Benidorm 🌞
Got Pac-man Re-pac 2 on its way and it's due at some point today. Looking forward to having a blast on that.
In meantime I'm on Cocoon. Bought it ages ago but never actually played it. It's unique and very unusual but enjoying it so far
Hopefully finishing Cronos today although the damn final boss is another pain in the rear. Then can start Silent Hill f.
@Shepherd_Tallon After we talked about Sekiro, I had the urge to go back to it and try the final battle again - which I didn't know was the final and voila...beat it! Was surprised to see the credits roll and read it's the shortest endings called - Shura. Yeah cause I realized a chunk of the places I went in my first playthrough was just cut off. It was brutal beating Emma with 1 life and Isshin Ashina with 2 lives in a row but I did it. 😁
Son's birthday, so Gaming will be less of a priority this weekend. However if I can free up some time, it will most likely be FC26. The game has entangled me again. But honestly the gameplay is the most fun I have had since the earlier FIFA's. Happy Gaming All.
Finishing up the incredible Death Stranding 2 which picked up speed after Chapter 10. What a wild ride!
Then wrapping up Hell is Us and Wuchang if possible because I am itching to get to Cronos.
However this PS Sale also has me eyeing up a few games that I’ve contemplated buying for awhile now so who knows!
Horribly stuck on Silksong. I just can’t beat the gauntlet in the high halls.
I’ve been playing octopath traveller 2 as a way to decompress. Seeing as I’m sick as a dog I think that will make up most of my weekend’s gaming time.
@TheArt Very nice!
How long had you been stuck on that playthrough for???
Building nodes in Hell Let Loose.
Have a great weekend!
Survival Horror Weekend. Silent Hill f, Cronos and Fatal Frame 1
I'm still playing Hollow Knight in the evenings and loving it as much as the first time I played it. So much depth. It's really set me up for Silksong.
I've finished NMS and I'm still struggling to find a weekend game I really want to play so I've gone for a replay of Hogwarts Legacy which looks so good on Pro (performance mode). I'm taking the collectathon approach at the moment and really enjoying it. I think the next one will probably be Clair Obscur since you bunch seem to be enjoying it so much!
Happy Weekend and Congrats on 600 WAYPTW's Folks!
Push Square's not far off 500K followers, so that should be another celebration
I will be playing fan favorite the incredible fallout 4 game of the year edition. I'm playing as the black man gregory. Best name ever.the gameplay. The graphics.the story.the the soundtracks. Heading back into 2013 Tomb raider as I never got around to the other two games. Just bidding my time until Ghost of Yotei.
getting close to the end of the new shinobi which has been great. will mix in some eafc26, trip to the cinema, and watching football. madrid derby and milan v napoli. enjoy the weekend everyone.
@Shepherd_Tallon Should be months, probably from the beginning of this year 😁. Didn't even use a single prosthetic equipment in the battle, saved all my spirit emblems for that bloody slash move which did a number on them.
Hitting up spots in Skate and finding distress signals in No Man's Sky.
I shall be finishing up my New Game Plus Hard run of Cronos: The New Dawn and also adding in a couple of runs of Horde in Gears 5.
Cronos: The New Dawn is my favourite game of the year, with Hell Is Us in second and Expedition 33 in third.
Anyone who enjoyed Dead Space will enjoy Cronos: The New Dawn, which also has the feel of Resident Evil 2 & 3 as well. Tis a truly superb game...
This weekend I'll continue playing Silksong. I beat 'The Last Judge' about an hour ago. What a rush. Might find something else to change it up a little.
Have a great weekend everyone!
@TheArt You're kind of making me want to go back to my second play through 🤔
For various reasons I have fallen into the Dark Pictures Anthology. We can debate how much of a game they really are but I am really addicted to the cheesy b-movie horror story lines. And have jumped quite a few times.
More BL4 for me and maybe finish off the excellent Cocoon. Have a good one everybody
I will be following the hilarious google ai instructions for Far Cry Primal to ride a young mammoth, and I shall also play Balatro. I cracked the red stake this week, it took four weeks of trying, and the joy was immense.
I am on the last stretch in The Tale of Onogoro on psvr2. Likely an underappreciated game! Wonderfully animated, great Japanese voice acting, and very interesting and sometimes very good music. Only the environments are a bit bland. Anyway really liking it.
I may play some more hitman on psvr2 since the freelancer mode is now playable in VR! Very nice surprise!.
But then after playing and liking the demo of Final Fantasy XVI, I picked up the full game on ps5 and I just may spend more time with that. I am really enjoying this visual feast, and spectacle (the frame rate might not be the greatest, but after some getting used to it, it does not bother me all that much). Anyway, likely also a game which more people should play. Maybe not those who do not like long cinematics.
Finally I played a bit of B99 on psvr2 which is on a steep sale right now. It is kind of cool and better than what the trailers suggest, but I haven't fully understood how it is supposed to be played. What can I do with second hand ? How do I get rid of the skull which starts chasing me ? I also was hoping for more interesting music. Up the now the music is a bit too repetitive, but maybe I do not survive long enough for it to take off ?
Bombrush cyberfunk with a bit of steamworld build.
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. Spent the morning playing Hollow Knight. Just got some pesky golf competition to watch before I can get back to it. Have a hollow weekend everyone.
Contemplating the original version of crash bandicoot 1.
Just bought Forza Horizon 5 so I'll be on that mostly with a bit of Forspoken on the side, not sure why it gets so much hate. I'm about halfway through the campaign and enjoyed every minute so far. The parkour movement is excellent and Frey's potty mouth is so out of place in the world she's in it's absolutely hilarious.
Have a good weekend all!
Picked up Silent Hill f as I've been waiting on it - early reactions got me absolutely jazzed. Around 3 hours in, and... it's okay? I can't exactly put my finger on what isn't working for me but I've heard it continually gets better, so I won't lay a definitive opinion on it just yet. Love the art design and soundtrack, though!
Have a great weekend, everyone! A handful of sleeps until Ghost of Yotei!
I'm playing Assassin's Creed Shadows, and dudes, it's challenging. Maybe it's because I'm in the 1st chapter and not strong enough yet, but I'm finding it harder than the other RPG ACs. But foward is the way. I'm clearing the BIG region of Gongaga in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as well, and more and more closer to end the content of Borderlands 3.
Yeah, 3 big games. So little time... Happy 600th, my friends!!!!
Just finished Cronos: The New Dawn and started Silent Hill f which so far is excellent. The past few months and the coming ones have been a wet dream for a survival horror/soulslikes fan like me. Wukong, Cronos, Hell is Us, Silent Hill f, Resident Evil: Requiem, the list goes on.
Not much this weekend..its the ryder Cup so its all out open war against Europe and America..maybe a bit of EA wrc..have a good one folks unless you are American in which case I hope it sucks 🤣
I am trying to catch up my backlog. I play Tomb Raider 3 Remastered, Dungeon Hunter Alliance on PSVita and will play Space Hulk Tactics tonight.
I need help. I’ve become unhealthily addicted to Hollow Knight: Silksong. I’ve beaten the game twice, but I can’t get enough. As I play the game I am constantly asking myself, “Is this my new favorite video game of all time?”, and the more I dwell on it the more I can confidently say it just may be. I couldn’t tell you exactly when that moment occurred—I just know it happened frequently.
I’m surprised by this because I am not someone who typically enjoys Metroidvania games, but I simply can’t stop playing. I do want to clarify: I wouldn’t say I’m great at the game. I’m not skilled as others; I can’t do any “no damage” runs, and boss fights can still take me up to double digit attempts. However; I’m good enough to complete the game 100% without a guide. That is the best compliment I can give the game and myself, and I’m proud of it.
I promise; next week I will (hopefully) be singing the praises of another game—probably Hades 2.
@Onearmbandit I’ve just started playing Balatro. Still very much a novice but what a fun game. I’m still figuring out the mechanics. Seem to be getting stuck around Ante 5
Sonic Racing Crossworlds is as addicting as it was in the beta. Gonna be spending so much time on that. With the sonic high I'm on, I downloaded Sonic Unleased too, but I've only ever played the wii version. This xbox/ps3 version is absolutely amazing tho, it almost feels like a new game and it's amazing
HAPPY 600TH W.A.Y.P. to the Staff and Netizens of PushSquare! We did it 🙌🏾
Welp I'm playing The waiting Game as i watch the timer on Ghost of Yotei and wait for Digimon Story Time Stranger to preload.
Happy Gaming!
Carrying on with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. It's just such a pleasant, upbeat game. I'm currently on Chapter 3, so hopefully I've still got a little while to go before I finish it.
@Boucho11
To be fair it took a while to get into. Once it clicked for me though I just couldn’t get enough.
P3r finally made it off the backlog
Cronos >>> Silent Hill f >>> Hell is Us >>> (finish) Death Stranding 2
Then on my Switch 2… keep on Silksongin’
I decided to hell with new games and subscription services and have picked up Horizon Forbidden West again.
I've completely restarted the game and experiencing it on a) a pro and b) a new, decent TV/Portal has been amazing in terms of graphics and gameplay. I am through one thirds of the main story, I think.
Played since last week
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – finished and platinumed. Love this game, really enjoyed exploring and doing basically everything and also getting the secret ending!
Gears of War Reloaded – Still the same as last week, slowly making progress in the campaign playing split-screen with my son, and still loving it. We're on act 5 now, getting closer to the end.
Sonic Racing Crossworlds - very solid game and a lot of fun. Maybe not Mario Kart level good but still. Havent had the opportunity to play with the whole family in 4 player split-screen yet but very much looking forward to it!
The Midnight Walk - wow, what an unexpected gem of a game this is! Playing it mostly in VR the atmosphere and the art design are great. I love it, but its not a game for everyone.
Baby steps - so silly, so fun! Havent played much but we've had fun playing it. You can turn the nudity off if you like me are playing with kids around.
I’ll be starting my NG+ run on Hard difficulty of CRONOS: The New Dawn. Super impressed with the game! It takes heavily from Dead Space and blends it with Resident Evil and Silent Hill to make a very solid, extremely fun and incredibly creepy new IP all its own. I dare say it’s my GOTY thus far based solely on how much enjoyment I’ve gotten out of it, which after all, is why we play games to begin with. That said, I hope everyone enjoys whatever they’re playing this weekend. Cheers!
Borderlands 4 and Sonic Crossworlds.
WWE 2K25 and Shinobi Art of Vengeance will be my to main games on PS5.
Another busy weekend. If I get some time to play, it'll be circling back to Stellar Blade's NG+. I've bounced completely off of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth after about 35 hours. I'm unable to properly articulate my disappointment with that game. It's severe.
For my next RPG, Trails in the Sky First Chapter may get my full attention, but if I need a break from that particular aesthetic, I may instead finally play through Yakuza: Like a Dragon. We'll see.
Have a great weekend everybody.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Should get this finished around Tues/Wed, then straight onto GoY.
Ghost of Tsushima and Elder Scrolls Online. Wish I had time to finish Ghost of Tsushima before Yotei releases but I still haven’t even reached the 3rd island.
@EfYI Horizon is such a great series! I love to see other people play it and enjoy as much as I did!
During the week I competed Jusant. I never expected a game all about climbing would be so fun and relaxing. I’m playing through Telltales Batman Enemy Within to get my 149th platinum which will put Ghost of Yotei in line for #150. Batman really fits the telltale formula with the detective aspects and being Bruce Wayne. The story and choices are really intriguing. Because I’m having such a fun time with it I picked up Wolf Among Us as I’ve heard great things and there is a sequel in development.
Another weekend and another stroll through Faerûn. I have also started Sword of the Sea, which I’m enjoying. Those two should keep me busy enough. I have lots of other non-gaming projects to do as well, much to my chagrin.
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun and NCAA March Madness 2005 on PS2.
@Shepherd_Tallon Haha I think I personally feel From Software games deserve multiple playthroughs with their multiple endings. Sekiro though I know is hard with its different approach to leveling up so considering a 2nd run isn't easy, but if you can - go for it 😁. I see myself going for a should I say 3rd or 2nd in future.
I'll be on Helldivers over the weekend hopefully it can zen me out after another terrible Manchester united performance this weekend!!
Useless disappointing squad of players and the manager has to go!
Nothing for me on holiday in Switzerland until friday. So lots of walking, eating and drinking 😁
Forza Horizon 5 this weekend
Purchased Borderlands 4 following the recent patch a day or two back.
Looks and runs like a dream on my Pro, with the classic addictive Borderlands gameplay.
Having a good weekend with it. Amazed they fixed it so quickly.
More Silksong and that will remain my game until it is completed. I may try Hades 2 out because I’m deeply curious about it or watch my son play Henry Halfhead too. I did pick up Lego Voyagers as well, so that’s possible. With Silksong and Hades being such massive indie hits that basically dropped from nowhere, is it weird that I’m like jeez Mina the Hollower, I knew your release date first, so let’s complete the trinity a little sooner please?
I’ll be picking up Ghost of Yotei and Mario Galaxy 2 next week, so I’m basically at a point where my gaming is planned and stacked for maybe the next 4, 5 months. Should I get Silent Hill F too?
@Daleaf ..sounds amazing ! Enjoy
Continuing a run of short games so I'm free for Ghost of Yotei - having platinum'd Unpacking and Jusant last weekend it's now the turn of Herdling and what a lovely experience it is. Missed a couple of trophies already but will likely replay to plat, since it's so short. But it'll have to wait, as tomorrow's focus is to take my son to university... where did those 18 years go! He already has 20 more plats than me and he's taking his PS5 with him, so I have zero chance of catching him up now.
First of all, happy 600!
After finishing Lies of P, really struggled to find the next game as usual when I finish souls-like game. So decided to go back to God of War 2018 and try to platinum it as there are only few trophies left and looks doable for me. Right now just 2 trophies left to get platinum trophy. GoW2018 is special for me, Ragnarok is a great game, but I had better time with 2018.
After that, Mafia Old Country awaits...later on planning to try Cronos New Dawn as I hear positive word from gamers.
Have a nice weekend and happy gaming, everyone!
@Czar_Khastik how was the platinum for Clair Obscur? I’m slow rolling the main story because I want to savor it. I also have tons going on so that helps 😂😂 I 100% plan to platinum Clair Obscur in the future
Doodle Jump (Windows Phone) - Virtually at the end of this now.
Gears POP! (Android) - Still on my YT LP.
Battleship (Windows Phone) - I'm also nearing the end of this as well.
AC Shadows and Wizordum.
@KingPev thanks m8. Yea i love it in switzerland such a beautiful place.
Silksong... Another week, another will I quit or will I push on through? I'm still in Act 1, I think I can move on to Act 2 but I have areas I still need to poke around in. I adore this game but there is also a little sliver of hate in there.
I managed to get my arcade stick working so trying it out with some fighters on PS3.
Just downloaded Banishers Ghosts of New Eden. I have never played a game like this so I’lll be diving into that this weekend along with continuing Blue Prince and Ratchet and Clank Rivet apart.
Guardians of the Galaxy!
I don't recall which one of you guys recommended it, but I'm loving it so far. I gave it a try a year ago, but it didn't wow me from the little that I played so I dropped it for something else. I'm glad I returned to it. It has so much soul!
For no reason in particular, I picked up WWE 2K25. I don't watch wrestling. I don't really know the first thing about it. But I wanted to play it. So I bought a game I know almost nothing about with subpar reviews on Metacritic. I haven't really regretted it so far, though. Played it with the GF and will be playing it solo soon to check out other stuff.
We also played Unrailed. Strange game but very clean, reactive, quirky and quite a lot of fun. Great frantic "couch co-op."
As for other stuff, I tried NirvanA Initiative. The series is so bizarre and packed with innuendo but the plot is legitimately unsettling and dark. I've heard that it gets even darker later on.
On top of that, I just found out that the revival project to bring back The Crew launched about a month ago. I might have to look into it.
I play a little of a couple games (GT7, Helldivers 2 and Frostpunk 2) and a lot of Silent Hill F. As a Silent Hill veteran fresh off of completing Cronos: The New Dawn I initially set both combat and puzzles to hard but that proved optimistic. Eight hours in I am still tackling the puzzles on hard but I had to knock down the difficulty of the combat after a boss kicked my teeth in many, many times in a row 😋. Good stuff though. Starts off pretty in line with past Silent Hills but eventually gets even more bizarre.
@Zuljaras I figured you're on vacation but I didn't want to jump in because that would be like beating a hard boss with cheats.
@TimeDelayedGamer That's one nightmarish tag team but for me Father Gascoigne was enough of an obstacle.
@Oram77 My face is stinging from all the make up, but we need to hang in there for just a bit longer, Thorn 🤡
@CWill97 The platinum is manageable and not really that hard actually. I don't usually platinum games since I don't have the time but Clair deserved my entire attention which spanned just a little less than 70h.
Nothing is missable and you will get all the trophies by exploring on your own. I had to look up maybe 2 trophies because they are collectibles.
The "hardest" trophy is the one where you need to beat an optional boss. I will just give you a small bit of advice with no spoilers, but I'll put it in tags in case you don't want to read it (I will not talk about the battle mechanics nor the who or what the boss is)
The boss has a lot of HP and has the most devastating move set in the entire game. There are 2 ways to manage the boss: you will either learn all the combos and successfully parry them and then deal massive damage or you can one-shot the boss like I did. I chose the one-shot technique since I didn't want to learn the moves and battle the boss 50 times. I did not look up how to do the one-shot, you can figure it out by yourself if you set your pictos in the right way. And it's not cheesing the boss, because the dev team already nerfed the most powerful moves in the game so it's a legit way to win the battle
I'm trying to get into the first octopath traveler. Loved the second one but I just seem to bounce off this one, and ive had it since march. Oh and assassins creed odyssey cos I now have the dlc.
I resumed playing Assassin's Creed Unity last weekend, still early in the story. I love to clear game maps of all collectibles and side quests first, it's a problem lol.
I also recently beat the story for Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. I was really struggling with the challenges, so had to take a break from earning the platinum sadly.
I'm gonna try to resume re-playing Final Fantasy 9 next, I'll definitely need a story recap. It's been many months since I played it, and my memory is fuzzy 😅.
@Czar_Khastik thank you my dude! It’s reassuring to know nothing is missable. Weirdly enough, I’ve actually enjoyed not having a map for every area. I wouldn’t want that for every game but it’s fun to explore here. And much appreciated about the optional boss! I really hate when games bloat the HP of a boss and say “look, now it’s tougher!” I think I’ll try to beat it by parrying at first. But if it takes too long, I will resort to other tactics :’) I got some Yakuza remasters to play in December after all my brotha 😎😎😎
@CWill97 Well my dear friend, I have actually looked it up to be sure, and it seems that there are some missables but I was lucky enough to acquire them without a guide. So sorry on my behalf for the misleading comment. Here is a quote from reddit, edited by me (some minor spoilers regarding a monster name, but I think it's nothing important):
Nothing more is missable. All collectibles can be collected in the endgame. Collectables reset once starting NG+
The absence of the mini-map was very welcome for me because as you said, I got to explore the dungeons much more. The optional boss will give you a good fight and some nice lore, so if you can tough it out, you'll feel great. I was running out of free time due to personal reasons so I went with the other quicker tactic.
And regarding yakuza, I actually can't wait for Yakuza 0 to arrive so I can replay it! I've preordered the 20th anniversary edition bundle with 0, kiwami 1 and 2. I hope you also managed to snag it.
@Czar_Khastik much love my dude 💙 So I’ve beaten the mimic, got the key & used it, and have Monoco pretty much locked into my line-up so I don’t miss a foot. I actually fought that weird monster once and got destroyed so I put that monster on the back burner. It’s awesome to know I haven’t messed anything up yet 😂😂
Are you from the UK/Europe? Because I keep reading that only you guys are getting the 20th Anniversary bundle with 0 Director’s Cut, Kiwami 1 & Kiwami 2. I’m from the USA and might try to get it sent over because… I want the steelbook 😂😂😂
@CWill97 No problem, mate, always glad to help 😎 Yeah, you're right on track and I'll just give you a hint regarding the weird monster to endure its constant jumps by dodging properly and you'll get your opening eventually. The key is dodging (or parrying, but I dodged).
I'm from Europe (Croatia, to be precise) and I also heard that the steelbook bundle is Europe exclusive. There is literally only one shop taking preorders here, that's how limited it is.
And just in case you won't be able to purchase it from a regular webshop, I can buy it for you and send it to USA when it arrives. It's 70€ here (82$ approximately), but the shipping cost and taxes will probably get you closer to 130$ (I'm just guessing).
Still playing "SEKIRO", just beat the Guardian Ape and now headed to re-take Ashina Castle!!! Getting close to the end!
@Czar_Khastik thank you my man! I keep forgetting that you told me you’re from Croatia from our last Yakuza talk 😂 I may have to take you up on that offer though. I’m going to see if I can use Amazon UK for it but I’ve never done that before. I’d give you the money (plus a little extra for being a bro) before you pay for it in that case. But first, I’ll if try an online shop to spare you from the extra work. Regardless, the gesture is very much appreciated!
It’s honestly wild that it’s exclusive to just Europe. Happy for you guys but… we have fans here too 😭😭😭 I’m happy to replay them all though. Yakuza Kiwami 2 was my favorite game/combat for Kiryu until 6 came out. But man, the Yakuza 3 remake looks like it’ll be damn awesome. Plus a Mine Gaiden game? So pumped for February tbh
@CWill97 My man, I will not accept any kind of extra money even though I understand that you'll try to compensate my time. But I insist! You will have enough expenses with the shipping and import but if you do take me up on the offer, we'll try to avoid import taxes if possible (maybe if I send it as a gift or something). Yakuza bros need to stick together!
I checked my retailer and they still have the 20th anniversary edition up for preorder: https://www.instar-informatika.hr/yakuza-20th-anniversary-edition-ps5/283657/product/
All those yakuza remasters looks awesome, I can't wait to properly replay 0. And yeah, kiwami 3 looks great with that extra DLC campaign. I just started playing Yakuza 7: Like a dragon. I played it halfthrough on ps4 but I upgraded to the ps5 version so I'm starting again. I'll slowly catch up with the Ichiban entries.
And I hope you're having a blast with Clair Obscur in the meantime.
@Czar_Khastik thank you my man for the offer & option! I ended up going with PlayAsia. I had to email them and make sure I was getting the steelbook too. It was still literally about the same of what you said (around $115). But I’ve used them to buy LAD: Gaiden, Ace Attorney Miles Edgeworth, Metaphor, and others. In the USA, there’s only a bundle for Kiwami 1 & 2 without the steelbook. Europe is lucky to get all of 0, 1 & 2 in the same bundle PLUS the steelbook. What a deal & steal tbh!
I just know sending things takes a lot of time and I didn’t want to put you out. Time is very important and you’re a busy dude. It’s better spent elsewhere tbh. If I couldn’t find it anywhere…. I wouldve caved and asked you though 😂😂 I just don’t love to pressure people for any help 😂😂 But, if you ever need anything USA related and cannot find it online, always feel free to hit me up. The kindness to a fellow Yakuza bro is always extended here 😎💙😎 Likewise, if I ever struggle finding something that’s an Europe exclusive, I’ll hit ya up 😎😎
Now that you’ve played most, if not all, of the Yakuza games, which game is your favorite (so far or out of them all)? Also, no clue if this site has messaging but feel free to message me if there is! Hope you have a great weekend my bro!
@CWill97 No problem, mate, I would do the same thing since I don't like to discomfort people and take their time as well. But as I said, I'm here in case something will be exclusive to my region and you'll be interested in getting it (there was a case here where only Poland got a Mafia: The old country launch edition with steelbook, so a single Croatian retailer also got it). So hit me up whenever you need something and I thank you for providing me with your services if I don't manage to snag something from USA via regular retailers 😎 The Tojo clan affiliates must stick together! 😂
I'll be honest regarding Yakuza: I finished only 0 and 6 (played Kiwami 1 halfway through) and now I've started Yakuza 7: Like a dragon after watching a recap of the first 6 entries. But I intend to go back to the older ones after I catch up with the Ichiban entries.
So far, I will say after trying out 4 entries that 0 is my favorite since the story had me on the edge of my seat. 6 had a good story (I love the world war 2 stuff) and the climax was great. But gameplay wise I would say that 0 is the best action based game and 7 as the first turn based game is also great. But I think that Infinite wealth brought the turn based battles on a new level.
What is your opinion regarding the series? Do you like the turn based or the action based approach more? (And I think there is no messaging here)
