I feel bad for them, honestly. I feel like Xbox has done them dirty.
There's games that you could see being $80 and you're like, "yeah, okay." Like if The Witcher 4 is $80 I'm fine with it. I played The Witcher 3 three times. It's enormous. Value rich. Grand Theft Auto, that kind of thing.
But I feel like you've got to be flexible with this pricepoint. Presumably Grounded 2 isn't going to be $80? It's a smaller game. You'd expect it to be less. Outer Worlds to me is somewhere between the two and it should be priced appropriately. $80 really seems like a stretch.
But then people cried about the Switch 2 price and that boycott doesn't appear to be going so well.
I am absolutely thrilled by this news. Silent Hill is my favourite Silent Hill game, and I did have a hope that they might do it after the success of Silent Hill 2 but I honestly didn't expect it. This is amazing news.
I don't know why but it really annoys me when sequels change the naming conventions established in earlier titles.
Anyway, I will probably play this. I liked the other two rat games, even if I think people did go a bit far with the praise for the second one. They're fine.
I was excited when this was announced but the tiny amount of footage shown and lack of even a hint at a release date seems to indicate this is miles away. They were probably pulling a Bethesda and announcing it just to try and keep fans off their backs.
That said, I'd only seen positive reaction to this until I read this article so I don't know. Maybe it's another case of the loudest voices being the ones with an axe to grind.
I can't believe they did a "one more thing" for Call of Duty. Like, we know. There's always another Call of Duty. You might as well be announcing Monday.
I'm surprised by the reaction to this, particularly in light of how positive a lot of people were about State of Play. They were pretty equivalent to me. Geoff got better reveals, State of Play was much shorter and had less slop - not much in it though.
At this point, as long as Phil Spencer doesn't come to my house and punch me in the kidneys its hard to see how Xbox can possibly not have the best show this week.
It was a load of multiplayer slop and incredibly similar looking fella-with-sword-fights-demons things, but it did have a banger Resident Evil trailer at the end so yeah I'm okay with it.
The secret exclusivity deal never made any sense and it still doesn't. It's not impossible, but it seems incredibly unlikely since Sony makes it pretty clear which games are subject to exclusivity, timed or otherwise.
I'm really into Zenless and I like the idea of revisiting these games for reviews because as you say, some of them barely resemble the games that were originally reviewed. Excited for the Infinity Nikki re-review after the recent catastrophies. Will it be a dumpster fire by 2.0 or will they sort it out? Answers on a postcard.
Regarding this, I've been saving my in-game pennies for ages and I'm only going to pull for a character I'm into. I really want the fox samurai lady but I'd already missed her when I started playing. I'll try out the new one and see if she's my kinda thing.
I must say though, I very much have no interest in having to think about crafting a team. I'm glad that the game allows for you to kinda just pick the ones you like. My team is the police lady, Nicole, and Vivian. I guess from Googling it you're not supposed to have all three the same element or something... I don't know. I did that because I thought it made sense. I don't really know what's going on. But I like playing as them so it works for me.
Looking forward to checking out the new area/character/etc!
I'm surprised some people are so bullish on that State of Play. To me it was basically the same as every other State of Play. A little better than normal perhaps. Still has most of the same positives and negatives as always, and as always I can understand why people are upset about it.
Okay. Better than usual. Started strong, went downhill precisely when Digimon showed up. Final Fantasy Tactics is a win. Bond looked good. They spent a lot of time on that Marvel fighting game so I guess they think that's a banger. I dunno. Yeah pretty okay.
I'm not a big Resident Evil guy or anything but didn't Village already conclude the Ethan Winters story?
Hopefully Resident Evil 9 is back in third person and they give us an old favourite to play as. Like Jill. Let us play as Jill. Or better yet, Barry Burton.
Super not excited for this. I do like the idea of PlayStation making smaller games to fill in the gaps between bigger games though, and I hope they do that. I'm just not feeling the whole Kratos in Ancient Greece thing. I do love Metroidvanias though so I'll probably end up playing it if it's real.
@BearsEatBeets It will almost certainly never, ever happen. But the fact is, if you've give us clothes and haircuts like that, it's borderline criminal that there's no third person mode.
I totally respect this, but on a personal note it does upset me greatly that they're even making this game when it's been like three months since the last Yakuza game and I'm starting to get withdrawals
Just here to back up that a) this is sad but it would be rad to own this thing, and b) there has never been a more high profile disaster video game than Concord. Unless I've totally forgotten something, Concord is an unprecedented failure. Yes, other games were taken offline. Yes, other games flopped or languished in development hell. Concord was a PlayStation first party AAA big budget soon-to-be-the-next-Star-Wars merchandise-at-the-ready-because-the-kids-are-gonna-love-it calamity.
I play Persona games in Japanese so this makes no difference to me but I'm glad to know they're doing it. I absolutely love Persona 4 and I can't wait to see it looking lovely with some remixed banging music.
The Order is exactly the sort of pish I love. Gameplay is whatever, but the world is cool, it's got a vibe, and you can finish it in a day. I'd take another Order over a lot of the things PlayStation seems to be interested in but I guess I'm in the minority.
So strange. I get why sometimes you leave a scene in that maybe doesn't make sense or stretches credulity or whatever because it's essential to the plot. But this is totally superfluous and totally stupid. Adding it back in is such a choice.
This is an odd one. I must confess I sigh whenever sports games are involved in Plus. Particularly American sports. And the Destiny thing... you can't even play all of Destiny anymore can you? Bit weird to give away the ending when you can't even play the start.
That said, the other two games are doing it for me. Alone in the Dark is exactly the sort of nonsense I'd pick up in a sale.
Maybe the numbers are bad. But we're not gonna really know until the streaming numbers come into play. Apart from grandmothers who is even watching television live in 2025.
This is such a weird show now. It ended exactly where I guessed it would when I heard season two was only seven episodes long, but I hadn't expected them to blow Abby's motivations and the porch scene etc. already. I get why, but I'm not into it.
The problem here is that the game's narrative only works as a game. Or, I suppose, a twenty episode season two. The way they've done it means that you've got... what? Two years for season three? And then presumably it'll be a series about Abby - do people want a series of Abby? People weren't even thrilled about a chunk of time playing as her in the game.
Still, it's certainly interesting seeing how they're tackling these problems. I'm mostly interested in how people who haven't played the games are enjoying it. Or not. For them it's different. This is the only version of the story they know, but I'm struggling with it because I already know the better version of the story.
