Every year, prominent Japanese developer Atlus releases a lengthy player survey to collect feedback on its numerous properties, most notably the Persona series.
Usually, these surveys offer some kind of insight into the company's plans, and 2025's edition is no different.
So, there are a couple of nuggets here. First off, one question asks about possible sequels, and which platforms players would probably buy them on. Both Persona and 2024 Game of the Year contender Metaphor: ReFantazio are mentioned, alongside "Vanillaware", in reference to the Unicorn Overlord studio (of which Atlus is a key partner of).
Interestingly, the question also namedrops Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army specifically, adding weight to the theory that the second Raidou game will soon be getting a similar remaster.
Obviously, Persona fans have been waiting years for Atlus to hint towards the inevitable Persona 6 — but between Persona 3 Reload, the aforementioned Metaphor: ReFantazio, and the upcoming Persona 4 Revival, it really does feel like the developer is... well, taking the p*ss.
How about a sequel to Metaphor, though? The idea's been floating around for a while, but the fantasy RPG does comes across as a bit of a standalone thing, and it didn't exactly set the world alight in terms of sales, leaving us to wonder whether Atlus actually thinks there's potential in kickstarting another franchise. No doubt it'll be using this survey data to try and gauge interest.
