There’s been very little coverage of Arknights: Endfield really, even though it’s the open world sequel to an already very popular game.
The original Arknights was a mobile-based tower defense title, but its upcoming PS5 sequel is a much larger budget, Genshin Impact-style open world game.
This new gameplay footage, shown on Sony’s stage at ChinaJoy 2025, largely focuses on the fairly rote exploration gameplay and character hopping combat.

But it’s got some unique ideas of its own, namely the automation aspects that have become popular in many PC games. Effectively, you’ll be able to build manufacturing chains to create useful items for your team. It looks pretty fun.
Despite this, with so many of these gacha games already available on the PS5, we’re not entirely sure that’s going to be enough to help this game stand out.
But considering the sheer scale of these modern gacha games, we’re obviously barely scratching the surface in a 15 minute video like this.
