I've been working through my backlog and finished Killzone 2 & 3, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus and currently playing Parasite Eve (I have an insane backlog).
Never really understood the practice of visiting a PlayStation centric website, commenting that a game looks interesting and then stating you'll play it on another platform (Switch is the main culprit). Like, why bother?
@rjejr @shigurui technically you could say they were ported backwards from the gamecube to the ps2 but I know that's not what you meant.
If you think about it though, one of the original pillars of home gaming was the porting of games from superior hardware (usually arcade or the lead platform) to less powerful machines and a practice that was still in place up to at least the ps3 era or as it seems, is still happening today.
Big fan of Terra Cresta both in the arcade and the C64 version (though it's a bit lacking). This seems pretty cool and look forward to what else is featured in the NeoClassic series. If they are looking at other Nichibutsu games, then Galivan or ArmedF updates night be interesting.
You b*st*rds! You had to list all ps3 games knowing that some of us couldn't resist going through the whole list! What next? PSP? PSVITA? How dare you?!
P.S. I really enjoyed going thru the list. Great trip down memory lane (as well as backlog avenue).
@BloodNinja people can dismbark and at worst, have a place to sleep and eat. Livestock on the other hand will likely die from stress or be slaughtered then they can't be delivered on time.
@get2sammyb @juanalf I'm not sure disbanding Japan Studio necessarily equates to redundancies as Japanese companies tend to favor reassigning employees rather than letting them go due to labor laws that strongly favor the employee. They might have offered early retirement packages as has become popular of late but my guess here is that the retention rate is high.
Seems like an odd thing to worry about. I mean pushsquare is comprised of a variety of different articles - the expected news, previews and reviews as well as more random items like soapbox, random and weirdness - written and/or produced by a number of contributors. Rather than dilute the pushsquare brand, the variety lends itself to a more compelling place to visit. I have no qualms if State of Play becomes a catch-all for all manner of game reveals, single game previews, hardware announcements or even shorter one-off style videos. I think it helps to keep things fresh, interesting and frequent, rather than only release a handful per year.
Disappointing that in a Turrican collection they don't include the original C64 versions. Maybe it would seem less palatable to the modern gamer but it remains a very-programmed game and has a faster, more hectic feeling than the Amiga version as well as a SID soundtrack. I guess it was just too much hassle to emulate and it's easier to fob off physical trinkets.
I want a ps5 but I ain't gonna brave conditions like that. I'll just keep watching twitter and see if I can get one on rakuten or Amazon or one of these silly lotteries that are all the rage here.
