Re: Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut Is Superb, But Sony Shouldn't Be Charging Extra for PS5 Upgrade

blinx01

They aren't squeezing wallets for the sake of it.
The reality is they just wanted an excuse to have a PS5 physical release on store shelves since all other first party games have been delayed for the rest of the year.

They've offered free upgrades in the past for Spiderman MM, Sackboy, etc.
This is the only reason they have changed tune for this Director's Cut and Death Stranding.

Re: Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Next-Gen Upgrade Skipping PS5

blinx01

To be expected really.
This is now an Xbox 1st party studio. The game is old and was never promised a next gen upgrade.

If Insomniac released Sunset Overdrive remaster on PS5, do you think they'd do an enhanced Series X version? Of course not.
So we shouldn't expect the same here.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Delay Rumours are Doing the Rounds, But It's All Speculation

blinx01

In all honesty I'm seeing a Feb/March 2022 release window.
If they had the confidence this was going to hit 2021, they would at least commit to 'Fall 2021' rather than dead silence.

The last we heard from Herman Hulst is they are trying for 2021 but won't rule out a delay until 2022 if quality demands it.

A 2022 release would mean PS5 has a poor line-up for the rest of the year, but 2022 could be something magical!

Re: Sony Issues Sales Updates for Major PS5 Games, Most Exceed One Million

blinx01

@Kidfried
They called the game a "mega-hit" and purchased the studio afterwards.
We can talk about what Sony class as a "mega-hit" all day, but I can only assume the game sold well enough for them in their eyes for the budget it received.

Sony aren't in the business of losing money on games.
The reason Days Gone didn't get a sequel is because it didn't sell enough games at launch at full price.
Here's a quote from the director;
"If you love a game, buy it at f***g full price", and implied that part of the reason Days Gone did not receive a sequel was because it did not turn a significant enough profit.

Re: PS5 Console Exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo Delayed to Early 2022

blinx01

@Ssimsim
It's a 12 month timed exclusive like Deathloop from Bethesda.
The deals were made before Xbox acquired them.

@Keyblade-Dan
Yep. Apparently she left because of her health issues.

"You can’t make games if you’re not healthy,” she says. “I started wondering whether there wasn’t a way for me to make games while feeling better. I took the decision to quit before it was too late.” - Ikumi Nakamura

Re: FIFA 22 Sure Is Talking a Big Game on PS5

blinx01

This is EA, so I will remain sceptical.
The big issue for me is no cross-play play again.
I had to go back to the PS4 version over the PS5 for FIFA 21 as the it was majorly underpopulated vs PS4, especially for weekend league games.
If they at least enabled cross-play with Series X/S, then at least that will help with that issue.
And what makes it worse this time around is if you want both gen versions, it's £90!

Re: The Winners from Sony's Latest State of Play

blinx01

Very surprised to see the excitement for Demon Slayer.
I'm a huge fan of the anime, but nothing convinces me this won't be the usual anime cash-in on the popularity of the series. So I'll be waiting for reviews.

Death Stranding looks great value for money though.
$10 for all these additions and improvements. Count me in.

Re: Talking Point: Was Sony's Latest State of Play Livestream Any Good?

blinx01

It was poor for me.

The positives;

  • Deathloop looks cool. Can be bought for £50.
  • Death Stranding DC only a $10/£9 upgrade.

The negatives;

  • SIFU delayed until 2022
  • Where is Ghostwire Tokyo? Supposed to be out October. We've seen nothing. Delayed until 2022?
  • Still no Horizon 2 release date. If that gets delayed until 2022 I'll lose my mind! LOL

Re: Soapbox: Why I'm Less Excited for Deathloop on PS5 Than I Should Be

blinx01

I think the big aspect this game has in it's favour is the price.
It's not £70. It's £60 RRP and you a quick Google shows many retailers have it listed for as low as £49 for the physical version.
Great price for a next gen only game on a Sony console.

The issue for some people will be it's technically an Xbox game now, and it depends if that bothers them.

Re: Sony Alludes to More PS5, PS4 Updates Throughout the Summer

blinx01

Really makes me question if there will even be a fabled 'big' event from Sony.
I honestly think they will keep the State of Play events going every other month and focus on stuff that's actually coming out this year.
Then maybe save the GOW Ragnarok reveal for The Game Awards since that's a 2022 release anyway.
