I feel about Soulslikes how most feel about playstations live services games.

It's a ok month for me. I have no interest in Lords of the Fallen, already played SAO but never completed it so maybe il try again, so that's just leaves the Tomb Raider collection that I'm most interested in.

It has a 6.8 user score on metacritic and 57% rating on steam, that just says it all.

Its a bang average game which people had high hopes for after the long wait since Skyrim and all the hype surrounding it before launch.

@SEVENTEENSOILS Im not saying you're wrong about what you're saying in general but I'm a fan of the anime Dark Gathering and I've read the manga and nothing was changed for its western release.

Not bothered if this skips the PS5 altogether, only game I would be interested in making it over is Fable.

Surprised this Studio is still going, if there's no game within the next 2-3 years then I'd say they will be closed down.

And people still support AI 🤦.

@dskatter If that happens then gamepass becomes unsustainable and will definitely be getting more price increases to cover the loss of playstation sales.

Great to hear they are in it for the long haul, it's a great game and something different from the usual battle royal and f2p slop.

@Globo How are Sony screwing the consumer? If anything they are screwing over themselves by halting sales of memory cards resulting in loss of revenue.

Not good, was planning on buying an SD card for my Switch 2 soon.

Also I wonder if this global shortage will effect Nintendo's game cartridges at all. Maybe that's why they lowered the cost of digital games, now that physical costs more they hope more people will buy digitally and Nintendo will need less game cartridges.

Yet will sell better on Playstation 😬.

If that's the case I would hold off until a decent sale or I will buy one second hand. Either option though I will be using by now pay later options.

I know a lot of people say they won't pay that but the majority will simply just so they don't miss out. Especially those that are hardcore gamers, gaming is their blood and they will not want to miss out on the next Elder Scrolls, Resi 10, TLOU 3 etc.

@Scottyy So Nintendo and Xbox having the same problems means what? That they have no competition? Or does that only go for when Sony do it. Even the new steam machine is having problems and will have to launch at a higher price than intended.

@ThatOtherNewGuy But how many people actually buy mobiles outright, the vast majority are on a 2-3 year contract as its more affordable that way. I think this is the route consoles will mainly go down in the future with more and more people looking for bnpl plans. Sony have already started something similar with Raylo.

Yes the economy is brutal and it makes sense why Sony have increased the prices but it's still a major concern for the gaming industry as a whole. This will price many out of gaming altogether as that's a big chunk of money that for most families is needed to be spent elsewhere.

More people will just stick to their older gen consoles for longer before moving over, and there will be more consoles bought via bnpl methods.

If true then I can't see PS5 reaching the PS4 numbers, gaming in general is now a premium hobby and will become a hobby that's just too costly for some. The Switch 2 will probably get a price increase this year taking it over £500, Xbox has already had further increases, the steam machine will definitely be no less than £600, and next gen consoles will be £700 to £1000+. Next gen will be the death of gaming if things continue, even PC gaming will become too costly with the RAM prices. Casuals will just stick with current gen consoles and the PS6 will see hardly any exclusives due to most devs still wanting to support the PS5.

What if we remove the non playstation Studio games and DLC. This is the problem publishing so many games, a couple of bad games brings the scores down and makes you look bad, although those game aren't even Playstation Studio games.

@Globo Yes it's for Xbox one owners but people were still getting different offers based on how much they use their console and how much they spend, basically what dynamic pricing is. They probably use those criteria for the usual just for you offers as well.

Until this practice becomes illegal then I would assume that most big corporations with their own stores are going to use dynamic pricing, if not already.

Microsoft are now doing the same but with consoles, offering different players different discounts basing it on their play time, subscription, and purchase behavior.

Meh more souls trash, hopefully the other two games are actually decent then, otherwise not a month for me.

Luckily for me my work gave me a £200 playstation gift card for being with them for 10 years lol. I might pick up Atomfall and Hell is Us, then spend the rest on 12 months of premium.

With Destiny 2 dying off and this game underperforming I think it's now time Sony took 100% control of operations. Time for Destiny 3 (hopefully a reboot) and maybe a single player shooter, the kind of game that put Bunjie on the map.

@tselliot Luckily this is the type of game kids aren't playing, too hard and serious for them.

It should not have a similar amount of players as Xbox considering the difference in install bases.

Xbox players like their shooters whereas Playstation players are mainly interested in story driven adventure games and jrpgs.

People wanted Sony to fight back against live service, and that's exactly what they have been doing. This was one of the studios established for live service so people should be happy right? I've also been seeing people calling for Sony to shut down Bunjie, like how can people be unhappy for one Studio closure but then wish for another.

Sony need to go down the Nintendo route and only own a select few trusted and established studios and then get third party studios making them exclusives based off IP they own, exactly like with HellDivers 2 but with single player games.

That way there's less Risk and less need for Studio closures from Sony as the brunt of the risk is on a third party.

The game has between 30-60 million daily players, how is that struggling?

Was slightly looking forward to this but I won't be bothering now, this is going to be up there with Code Violet for worst game of the year.

Looks like there will be nothing from Atlus then, I can't see any JRPG's being present that I would be interested in so I will just catch up with the trailers after it instead of watching live.

Superb game and I so hope this DLC is real. Dragons Dogma 2 was an absolute delight to explore and probably one of the best games I've played where I can just spend hours exploring the map. Imo it's a way better game than Crimson Desert.

For me videos games are an art form, using generative AI for that art is just fraud in my eyes. Also AI will not benefit the consumer in any way, do you think if these companies use AI then games will get cheaper? People will lose their jobs and development time should get shorter and cheaper right? So surely the price of games will go down to reflect this.

But of course it won't, developers want to use AI to make things easier, get rid of staff and make more money from it without giving a damn about the consumer.

So as a consumer why would I or anyone else care to defend companies that use AI.

@Globo Everything isn't dynamically priced though, only games on sale were dynamically priced, making pretty much the same as the just for you promotions.

I can't say I've ever experienced it on Playstation and how would I know? I just wishlist games and then check those games when there's a sale on and sometimes I might buy some.

I see the fake experts are out with their guesstimates 🤦.

Been really enjoying my time with this game, just reached level 25 but I don't think I'm ready for ranked yet. So far I'm playing each map until I'm familiar with the layout until I move onto the next, all whilst trying to do any contracts I can. By next weekend I should be ready to start playing on Outpost.

And yes it is the same, they even say the discounts offered vary on different factors such as playing time and subscription length etc.

It's also required on steam for games to disclose if they are using AI or not. The fact they didn't just makes this company even more scummy in my eyes.

@PuppetMaster They are probably trying to tread lightly to not upset the elitist challenge crowd, I've seen them before hating on people who were asking from software to include difficulty options, threatening they would boycott games if they did. It's a mindset that I will never understand.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with games catering to both types of players.

Just wishful thinking at this point.
