@Yor-sama I wouldn't say PS5 is the worst, for me that would be the PS1, but thats only because I was a kid back then so I didn't enjoy all the iconic games as I just played crash and this toy army man game. Same with PS2 during secondary school all I played was San Andreas and Fifa. It wasn't until late PS3 that I started branching out to other games and especially jrpgs so naturally every gen since has been better for me. So I'd say so far the PS5 has been the best, or atleast on par with PS4.
The negativity is just way overblown, luckily that negativity doesn't reach the casual gamers who are the majority. So I wouldn't say this SoP is going to be a deal breaker for Sony.
If its true that Sony have the marketing for GTA then I can definitely see a new trailer being dropped at the SoP, which would also make sense why they have announced it in advanced to get as many people's attention as possible. If both Intergalactic and GTA get new trailers here then wow what a huge win that would be.
@johnedwin I say let Xbox have their exclusives back, give it 5 years and they will be bleeding money, closing studios, cancelling games and shift back to putting games on Playstation. The current gamepass model isn't sustainable without also getting decent sales for their biggest games, so shifting back to exclusives could kill Xbox in the long term.
I've put over 40 hours into and completed all the main, spin off and side quests available so far. It might actually be a gacha game I can keep up with 😅.
Already seen the banners for next month, those being Lacrimosa and Chaos, tbh I think I will skip those and save my dice for the following update.
@Skinny-Pete Yes because those Xbox players that are complaining are asking to not put their games on Playstation specifically, they don't care if the games are day one on PC and most don't even mention Nintendo. Whereas the argument for Playstation is that their fans want exclusives just on Playstation consoles, not even on PC to strengthen the brand.
So tell me why Xbox players don't care if their games come to PC but not Playstation? If they truly cared about exclusives then why don't they want them to go back to Xbox console exclusives like the 360 days which was their best gen. Atleast Playstation fans are upfront and say exclusives should be kept to the platform full stop.
But they will still be on PC, so technically not exclusives 😂.
Pretty obvious these guys just hate playstation.
Even if they did go back to exclusives the majority of Playstation gamers just won't care, just like before. So eventually after going back to exclusives for a few years and realising their sales are down again and having exclusives has made no difference, they will go back to releasing them on Playstation. So for those that do want to play Xbox games just have patience, they will come.
@johnedwin Makes me laugh when Xbots bring up the "sad dad" narrative, yet there's only been two IP's that have been about a protective dad (GoW and TLOU).
Yes I 100% support that decision, having platform exclusives is essential for consoles to be a success, just look at Nintendo who thrive off exclusives compared to Xbox who shifted away from exclusives last gen. Nintendo are close to having the best selling console whilst Xbox is on its death bed.
Bring Multiplayer games to PC day one, but any single player games must stay exclusive.
@belmont I don't know what you're doing wrong but I have my PS5 saves backed up to the cloud. Infact having my PS5 saves backed up allows me to continue playing on the Portal via cloud streaming which uses the games backed up save.
Doesn't bother me as I have a year of premium left, plus the value of essential is still there as the free games alone are worth the £7.99. Also I see people complaining that online should be free, yet those same people complain about Sony making online games and online games in general. Seems like just another bandwagon for some to jump on.
This is great news and will further strengthen Playstation going forward. All they need now is a single player focussed acquisition, as right now there's no way they have enough studios to pump out 3-4 games per year like their competition.
Seeing some certain comments really makes me laugh, those same people weren't complaining when gamepass got a hefty price increase but are not happy when Sony raise it by a £1 😂😂🤡.
There's also people who enjoy both, I primariIy play Rpg's/Jrpg's but I also play Marathon, Apex Legends and Overwatch yet I still complete 2-3 single player games per month. Sometimes it's nice to just have a break and play some online games with and against other people, or some competitive gameplay instead of midlessly attacking bot enemies over a over.
I think if all i did was play Rpg's non stop I'd be burnt out on the genre by now.
Congratulations to Playground games, seems like it's fully deserved, heck even I'm going to buy it when it comes to PS5, especially as it's based in Japan. Hopefully they keep this momentum going with Fable.
GTA and Wolverine will most likely get similar scores (if not better), personally for me though I thought Pragmata and Monster Hunter Stories 3 deserve higher scores than they have.
Can't think of anything else releasing this year that I think will challenge for the top rating, Nintendo doesn't seem to have anything in the pipeline that would, Playstation just have Wolverine and the rest of Xboxs line up look like mid 80s (if they release this year).
Can't remember if there's any highly anticipated indies coming out this year that could score insanely well.
Overall though with what's to come and what's already been released (across all platforms) I thinks it's a really great year for games.
This would be pointless for me as it would just be the same top 10 games every time, only thing I'm surprised by is that there's no gacha games in there.
Maybe they can make it customizable so that we can pick what games to track, atleast that way I can see if it's worth jumping back into some older online games, like Monster Hunter Rise which I'm tempted to jump back into and do the DLC.
@Mes_Urson The is a single player campaign and as someone mentioned there's a hub where can take different quests ranging in difficulty, you can do them single player as well if you like or you can matchmake with randoms. But yes you will find some missions will have high level players who steamroll the enemies.
We will definitely be seeing Wolverine and Marvel Tokon, and I dare say Intergalactic will get a first gameplay trailer and the new God of War game will get an announcement trailer. Hopefully we also get to see Marathons next map get revealed and a small surprise, maybe a remake of Ape Escape or whatever Media Molecule are working on.
For the third party stuff il be happy with any jrpgs shown, especially that one from Konami (forgot the name).
It didn't help that once I completed the story there wasn't anything to entice me to keep on playing. Monster Hunter World had so much better post game content and updates, it's like they couldn't be bothered this time round.
Just looking at the steam charts and World has 10k more active players than Wilds which just goes to prove my point.
Well that's all she wrote for Housemarque, judging by these sales there shouldn't be too many complaining once the closure news hits.
Seriously though it doesn't help they are charging £69.99 for this, it's a niche title and not an AAA blockbuster like Sony's other big games. As soon as they revealed the price I knew it would struggle, this should have been £49.99 at most. If anything I think this game will do well as time goes on as a lot of people will be waiting for a sale.
So for someone like me who would have just got the game for the story mode you're telling me I'm better off just watching a YouTube Walkthrough as I'd get the exact same experience, but for free.
You can't already tell people aren't reading the article properly and jumping to conclusions, Sony aren't saying they aren't focussing on first party games, they are saying third party is a huge part of Playstation is all about.
I mean every platform is pretty much third party focussed, there's just thousands more third party games releasing every year on the store compared to the few first party games. The only exception is probably Nintendo, I can safely say no one buys a Nintendo console with third party games in mind.
It will come to PS5 but maybe not on release, I think 6 months timed exclusivity just like Forza Horizon 6. Would be a wise move as well as no doubt Wolverine would be the bigger game and get more attention, so if Gears did release around the same time it would get overlooked.
Although I love japanese games I find TGS very lackluster in terms of new reveals, it's strange how the bigger Japanese developers would rather reveal their new games at western shows, or individual directs by Nintendo or Sony. This is meant to be the biggest gaming event in Japan so why not save some big reveals for this.
@get2sammyb Raising the prices of the Switch 1 consoles will definitely effect this, but I think they have plenty of stock and won't discontinue the console until another 2-3 years. PS2 went on to sell a few more million after being discontinued so I think it's fair to say the Switch 1 will as well, meaning it will eventually beat the PS2s lifetime sales. It might not be next year or 2028 but come 2030 the Switch will be the best selling console.
@Oram77 No, but these days if a game isn't 80+ people will turn their noses at it. If Playstation or Xbox release a game at 70 they get mocked for it. Gamers current high standards and relienace on metacritic has made some good games get overlooked and have failed sales wise.

Re: Ahead of Humongous State of Play, Sony Trademarks New PS5 Game 'Break In'
If it is Fairgames then I hope it releases this year and so the PS6 can start fresh with a focus on single player games.

They must be confident, that hype meter is slowly rising.

@Oram77 Pretty sure the price they lowered it to is still more than it was before they raised it.
Re: PS Plus Price Increases Also Hit Extra, Premium Tiers - Here Are All the New Prices
Doesn't effect me as I'm subscribed to premium for 12 months and I will most likely just stick with getting 12 months worth every renewal.

Returnal launched to an install base of 8 million, sold 100k in the first week.
