Would be great to see Donkey Kong win GOTY. I haven't played E33 yet so I can't comment on it's quality but I've seen some gameplay videos and the amount of QTEs is off putting, I don't play turn based games expecting to still time dodges and parries, there's a reason I suck at souls games lol so maybe it isn't for me anyway.

Decent month overall, Car Quest 3 and AC Mirage for me. Also highly recommend Granblue Fantasy Relink, excellent game.

1707 hours played, 98 games total with 1113 trophies. Top played game was Wuthering Waves with 227 hours.

How long before they are acquired by the Saudi's or Chinese. Publishers in general have just been a s**t show over the last 2-3 years and it's the independent studios bringing out the best games. Only decent ones left are Capcom, Sony (without the live service crap), Nintendo and Take Two.

Well it didn't stop Kuro (Wuthering Waves) from releasing its own Japanese themed update (areas and characters). Nice to see one chinese dev not under the CCPs thumb.

This doesn't surprise me at all, it's a result of both the reduced price and having the better game library for now.

The Switch 2 doesn't have enough big hitters yet and the two biggest games to launch over the last the month or two (Pokémon and Metroid) were also released on the Switch 1. Kirby and Hyrule Warriors were niche releases and were never going to shift consoles. Once the big games like Zelda, Mario, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros release then you will see a big shift in Switch 2 sales.

Whereas the PS5 has a few big games launching every month, wether thats first party or third party, games that Nintendo do not get. Also now that Xbox are bringing their games to PS5 it's a no brainer that the majority of high end console gamers are going to go to Playstation, and at that discounted price now was a better time than any.

Just because the Switch 2 is new doesn't mean it should be outselling the other consoles, it was the amazing releases that carried the Switch 1 to the success it had, well that and covid.

This is a big win against AI.

@StitchJones Yeah I see a lot of reviews knock a point off games for tedious side quests, but not from Arc Raiders 🤔.

Well Lost Souls Aside looked really good before it released and yet has a 62 metacritic rating with a 5.9 user score 😬. So I won't be paying too much attention to this until the reviews come out.

Nice to see Wuthering Waves and Silent Hill F pick up some awards. Just a shame even the Japanese didn't like Trails in the Sky Remake either 😅.

Excellent game and one of my top games of this year, I would highly reccomend it.

Keep this crap away from the games please Sony. AI doesn't just make people's work easier but makes them lazier and saves the company money, but in return the games won't get cheaper.

Still quite difficult to tell what game this is, I think Elder Scrolls is too far away to show again now and doesn't look Fallout related. My money is on it being Prince of Persia or Saros.

Voted for Yotei and Silent Hill F for most categories.

Tomb Raider maybe, definitely see Lara as inspiring and she got the thickness 😅.

Really great month, I will be playing Killing Floor 3, Neon White and Outlast Trials.

I've already completed Lego Horizons, and I've played SynDuality for about 10 hours but it wasn't a good game tbh.

@Blaze215 3.3 million sales in just one month isn't good? I'd understand if that was it's life time sales but it's not, this game will likely sell around 10 million over the next 2-3 years.

Not surprised as the Switch 2 is lacking in the big "real" exclusives, both the new Metroid and Pokémon are also available on the Switch 1. Once they start releasing more Switch 2 only games and the big guns like Zelda, Mario and Animal Crossing release then you will see a huge spike in sales and overtake the PS5.

Great list of games and a few there I still need to play, I'd also add Trails in the Sky Remake, FF7 ReBirth, Metaphor Re Fantazio and Horizon Forbidden West to that list.

@Game1ps I wouldn't take to heart what most people say about this game, they were already going to hate on the game no matter what. But, the game has an 86 metacritic rating and 8.2 user score, so that tells you that the majority thought it was a very good game.

Digital sales aren't included though, although they should be especially when the digital only console has sold over 1 million and digital is the main way games are bought on Playstation anyway.

Outselling Xbox 58 to 1 is ridiculous, doesn't really matter what they do next gen does it.

Had an email saying I was accepted for the PS5 test, I won't put too much time into though as my data will get wiped. Hopefully the game doesn't require you to have extensive knowledge of the mobile game to understand what's going on.

@SeaDaVie Are they actually "Sequels" though? As in a continuation of the same story and setting? For example Pokémon, each new gen isn't classed as a Sequel, same for Fire Emblem games. Same goes for the main Monster Hunter and Assassins Creed games, yes they are in the same world but they aren't technically sequels.

So for me Ragnarok is a sequel, Spider-Man 2 is a sequel, Forbidden West is a sequel but Yotei is not.

Sequels I have no problem with, heck even a third game is fine if they're spaced quite far apart.

Finally voting with your wallets is paying off, also they had a period of putting their games into gamepass which would have stunted day one sales and people now expect their future releases to be put into the subscription service at some point resulting in less sales for future games. But that seems to have stopped now, which was predictable.

Biggest redemption arc in gaming history, I'd wager the Anime also contributed to a massive influx of sales.

That's a solid line up tbf and a nice mixed bag of genres.

The misses will be happy this morning then, she's loves this game. Tbf the gacha shouldn't put people off, she's put over 500 hours into this and Wuthering Waves without spending a penny and has completed the base game for both of them. There's enough content and stuff to do in these games to do hundreds of gacha pulls and get your through the game comfortably.

Hopefully it's not a continuation of Destiny 2, I tried getting back into it last week and didn't have a clue what was going on.

Oh look another article with PC fanboys flooding the comments, this is a Playstation dedicated site for Playstation fans, so keep your useless troll comments to yourself and maybe play some games on your "wonderful" PC instead of getting triggered by what Sony is doing.

It's been excellent so far, there's been a lot of amazing games and I've put more hours into my playstation this gen than I have any previous gens.

Cheaper, more powerful and plays Xbox exclusives. It's a no brainier really, anyone looking to shift over to Playstation or new to gaming should be getting this whilst the offer is on.

Love to see it.

@StitchJones I had the same experience with Arc Raiders, played it for about a week and got to level 11 but it got repetitive and stale pretty fast. I also felt the same with HellDivers 2 albeit I've put a lot more time into that than Arc Raiders but the gameplay loop just got too repetitive, maybe I just have an issue with these extraction shooters as The Division was the same, loved the idea and played it for around 30 hours but nothing keeps me hooked. Only extraction shooter I've thoroughly enjoyed enough to keep going back to it is The Hunt Showdown, must have put nearly a thousand hours into that game.

If this was on the Friday I'd watch it live, but for some reason most of these gaming shows are on a Wednesday or Thursday.

Too bad it also came frame dropped and a complete mess.

Of course they are, they've never seen sales like this before. Just a shame they are always going to be in fear of getting shut down, or getting forced to use AI.

But does that include port costs and the split that Sony have to give to Arrowhead and ShiftUP, Sony were just the publisher for some games and won't be taking the full amount. Pretty obvious that HellDivers 2 makes up the majority of that revenue as well, I don't think their single player games have sold that well and probably not worth the effort in the long run.

Always tempted to get back into Genshin but for Wuthering Waves is just so much better in every way.

Sony already have 5 games releasing next year (Wolverine, Marvel Tokon, MLB 26, Marathon and Saros) so let's not get too carried away and over saturate 2026, especially with GTA launching towards the end of the year as games will want to avoid releasing November to December giving Sony 10 months to release those 5 games.

Doesn't surprise me, when have Microsoft made a smart decision this gen 😂.
