@BLKxHER0 Yeah the first map even says it has less human players. I played around 5 games on the beginner map and encountered no other teams yet I did on my first game on perimeter normal and was finding other teams every other match.
Definitely been enjoying my time with the game, after playing Arc Raiders I was put off the idea of this being an Extraction Shooter but I much prefer this over Arc Raiders.
So out of that 2% revenue from PC, how much of that was from HellDivers 2 and Destiny 2? Take those from the equation and you're probably left with 0.5% revenue from their single player games. Now surely that's just not worth it? They can just continue to release live service games on PC but keep single player games exclusive to consoles.
With the new Steam console and the next Xbox rumoured to run Steam I'd say this is a very wise move, and one I'd say most Playstation gamers will agree with.
Is that 2% revenue really worth hurting your brand, and losing players to the Steam box and Next box.
@saffeqwe Says who, the most played games on Playstation are these types of games. One of the game of year contenders last year was one of these types of games.
@jFug Helldivers 2 is the only success theyβve had in the live service space
How many games have they released in the live service space? Since the PS5 released they've had one failure Concord and 3 successful in HellDivers 2, MLB and Gran Turismo 7. Destiny 2 and all it's expansions are also doing good and Marathon doesn't look like it's going to be a failure either. Ghost of Yotei Legends also seems to be wanted by fans although that game won't be monetised so I don't think Sony care too much about that one.
@Oram77 Well I take my comment back as after doing some searching this sites score seems to be one of be lower ones. 88 metacritic on PS5, 90 on Switch 2, 91 PC and 92 on Xbox. So maybe it is a game of the year contender after all π.
Well so much for game of the year material, I might pick it up Friday still but I am seriously contemplating getting it for the Switch 2 to see what the system can achieve when pushed.
The plan is the next Forza, Halo, Gears and Fable are coming to Playstation. Until Xbox start getting console sales similar to Sony that plan is not going to change, and this course they are currently brings in more revenue than they've ever had before.
The fact it was topping the PlayStation store pre order charts and top 5 on steam means it's definitely no Concord. The game looks fantastic visually and gameplay wise and with Bunjie behind it it should be supported very well.
@SMJ I'm a Playstation and Nintendo gamer and whilst I don't like Xbox (I have owned them before) I don't really care if they stick around. One of the reasons I started to despise them was because of their attempt at outspending the competition by buying two of the biggest publishers around, then those leaked emails about who to buy next such as Nintendo and Square and the email about basically running Sony out of business, kind of gave them this bully attitude just because of their trillions.
But that has changed now that they are a third party publisher, but I still think they shouldn't be allowed to buy any more big publishers going forward.
In terms of giving Sony competition, I just don't see it. You don't push your competitor to compete by giving them your biggest games day one, and raising your prices above the market leader. Right now Nintendo and Steam are Sony's main competition so Xbox not being around will make no difference tbh, especially with those poor console figures.
So I don't mind if they stick around but just leave the big publishers and Nintendo alone.
Theres no going back now in terms of bringing their games to Playstation and Nintendo, especially when new games from their top 4 IP's are already coming this year. It would be another 5+ years before the next games from these IP's come out and the damage would well and truly be done by then. Xbox's game indentity will be gone and gamepass will no doubt get more price increases, the only reason to carry on investing into their consoles would be to play your existing library if that matters to you.
Also how are Insonmiac releasing top AAA games so fast? You had Spider-Man 1 in 2018, Miles Morales in 2020, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart in 2021, Spider-Man 1 Remastered in 2022, Spider-Man 2 in 2023 and now this in 2026. Other studio's need to learn from these guys.
@ButterySmooth30FPS Strange isn't it, and that last game sold less than 2 million lifetime sales.... I remember Final Fantasy 16 getting laughed at for selling 3.5 million in one week.
@Areus I'd bet my house on it, most of those people just like to follow the latest Sony hate trend without thinking for themselves. Was quite funny seeing HellDivers 2 be a massive success, those people were nowhere to be seen.
@ShogunRok I see, that's good to hear then. Maybe this re shuffle is also why there's been no new Atelier announcement yet as there's usually one new game per year.
@DennisReynolds They could definitely change the gameplay but the art style is locked in at this stage, so for those who hate the art style no matter what Guerilla change via feedback it's still not going to be a game for them. Doesn't mean the game has to flop though, just move on to a game you do like.
What division handles the warriors spin offs like Dragon Quest Heroes, Persona Strikers and Hyrule Warriors? Hopefully they are still intact as I enjoy those games.
@Bsb56 Exactly the point I was trying to make the other day, Arc Raiders has sold more (nearly double) than the last two game of the year games combined (Astro Bot and E33). That just goes to show live service games are just more in demand than single player games, it's not that Sony is out of touch with its fans, it's that the "fans" that visit gaming sites are just the minority.
@Artois2 Sony got hate for Days Gone, Horizon and TLOU remakes, yet people are going crazy over a Remake studio because they could possibly remake Bloodbourne (PS4 game btw).
Even on YouTube any trailers Playstation post you have people in the comments bringing up Bluepoint, time to let it go.
If they didn't get shut down and made a God of War live service game as planned then I wonder if these same people would have been ecstatic and praising Bluepoint to the high heaven's π€.
Wow you would think they had closed down Naughty Dog or Insonmiac, this is a studio who's games didn't sell well so if only theses people complaining bought Bluepoints games to begin with. Where was the backlash of this magnitude when Japan Studio and London Studio were closed?
If Bluepoint didn't get shut down then we would be getting yet another live service game (god of war online), I wonder how that would have went down....
@MrPeanutbutterz He won't reply, he knows when he's cooked π. He just spouts Sony hate nosnese whilst bigging up PC but as soon as someone corrects him he's no where to be seen.
@graymamba From what I've seen on twitter Xbots are now doing a 180. A year ago they all of a sudden started to say exclusives are pointless and they don't care who plays their games and gloating Microsoft are now the biggest publisher, yet over the last 24 hours they are now begging this new CEO to make their games exclusive again π.
Microsoft have a choice, listen to their fans and lose out on billions from Playstation and Nintendo sales, or stay multiplatform and be the biggest publisher. Either way they either hurt their brand and fans egos or lose out on huge revenue.
Tbf their biggest games have already been announced for PS5 such as the new Halo, Gears of War, Forza and Fable so the damage has already been done. They need Playstation for actual game sales, so worst case scenario is that their games become timed exclusives instead, either way their games are going to continue to release on Playstation.
@nomither6 Hybrid console, it combined both Nintendos home and handheld market into one, so let's no lt pretend it doesn't have a bigger market audience than playstation.
Going to get even worst for Nintendo once the rumoured price increase comes into effect. They will need to start charging more for basic game boy ports and upgrades next.
For anyone interested in getting a Switch 2 id say do it now. Hopefully there's some big games coming this year that they haven't announced yet.

Played for two hours last night and had a blast, the UI is chaotic but you kinda get used to it. Also thought the bots hit hard or is it just me π .

Re: Marathon Server Slam Gets Underway Today - Here's Everything You Need to Know
I have to agree with comments about the UI, so much going on. Apart from that though it's a very good game and so far I'm quite enjoying it.
Re: Project Windless Dev Explains the Game's Giant Rooster-Man Protagonist
@Scottyy If that's true then it makes sense as they wouldn't want the next Xbox to have access to their big games, even if they are 1-2 years old.
Re: Project Windless Dev Explains the Game's Giant Rooster-Man Protagonist
@Oram77 As a Tottenham fan I bet you want a chirpy dlc costume π

Re: For Some Reason, Sony Apparently Got Gran Turismo 7 Running on Switch 2
@Boxmonkey Well porting to PC seems to have not done anything to their console sales.

Maybe this is just research for their own portable that's been heavily rumoured, they might be testing what minium specs are needed.

I think this is more Sony testing what the competitions device is capable of.
Re: Marathon Collector's Edition Might Be the Best We've Ever Seen
Why do people even click and comment on these articles if they have no interest in the game or anything related to say about the game.
Re: Wolverine PS5 Release Date Reveal Sparks Bluepoint Cover-Up Claims
@djlard Tbf the remasters they have done this gen hasn't really sold very well at all, so I don't think they've done any ass saving lol.

That price is ridiculous, if this was by NIS it would have been half that price.
Re: Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Release Date Announced
This should have been in the state of play as the closing game, would have made the show a 10/10 personally.
Also seems a bit earlier than I thought, maybe GTA even has Sony rushing.

Hoping a game (or multiple) will fail is just sad, game failures lead to lay offs and closures but I'm sure that's fine then.
