@Swandivetotheasphalt You can even still download your bought digital games on the PSP even though the store closed 5 years ago, so this whole fear of losing your digital games on older consoles needs to stop. Especially as future playstation consoles will use one integrated store, the PS6 will still have PS5 and PS4 games to buy, the PS7 will have PS6,5,4 games etc.

And that right there is the issue, you can't own whatever media your paying for, no matter if its Music, TV series, Movies, Anime or Games, any purchases of these gives you a license only, a license that can be taken away if bought digitally without you being able to do anything about it.

For physical games that don't have the full data on the disk, what happens to those games if the publisher closes the servers for them? Same thing as if you bought it digitally right?

That right there is why Sony won't bat an eyelid to those YouTube and X replies. People can complain all they want but maybe instead of aiming your hated at Sony maybe you should try convincing more people to support physical releases instead.

@hel105 NTE is a great place to start, especially as it's fairly new so you can catch up quite easily whilst the other gacha games will take you hundreds of hours to catch up. it's also actually very generous with free currency, since it launched I've got every new character so far and have enough currency saved to guarantee me the next two characters as well, and that's without spending money on currency.

The gacha pull rate is also better as there is no 50/50, after 90 pulls you are guaranteed the banner pull whereas as in other gacha games after 90 pulls you only have a 50% chance of getting the banner pull.

Also there's a cool new event in NTE right now called 999 Nights which basically gives you a fantasy setting to explore.

Finally don't be put off by people saying you need hundreds of hours of grinding as that's simply untrue, these games have a world level which you can raise or lower to make it easier for you, and usually have a no dying mechanic in story missions so that if you are under leveled you can still complete the games story missions. The only thing you will be spending that much time on is exploring large maps filled with different activities and side quests.

I think Fallout is too big of an IP and has always been multiplatform, so I'd say any Fallout games will definitely be coming to PS5.

So we have Fallout 5, new Fallout from Obsidian, and two Fallout Remasters coming? And people thought the Horizon IP was milked with three games 😂.

@DaveScoffin With a big multiplatform IP attached to it I doubt it. They have learnt their lesson and any big games won't be exclusive anymore or at most maybe timed.

I'm tempted to give it a go but I'm waiting for a steep sale, what's the lowest it's dropped to in a sale so far?

@ShadowRJ I'm not a true physical gamer as I only buy roughly 50% of my games physically and even then I'd sell them as soon as they are done, but with that 50% I would never purchase them from Game.

Before I became an adult I used to go into the Game and GameStation stores near me (Merry Hill Shopping Centre) and buy games, I used to go with my parents or mates with pocket money and look forward to browsing the games, especially the 3 for £20 section. But when you grow up and have access to your own money you start to shop around more for the better deals and do more online purchases. Game was one of the most expensive stores around so I I chose to buy my games off Shopto, Game Collection and Amazon instead.

I don't mind going all digital, especially with Sony saying that retailers will be selling codes as well meaning I can get games cheaper. But, I would really like them to include some kind of trade back function and better refund policy.

For the trade back system I wouldn't mind if we could sell our digital games (rights for the games) for maybe 20-30% of the value we paid for them, obviously I wouldn't expect them to allow us to sell back games years old so maybe it's only available to do within 12 months after purchase.

For the refund policy I understand why its so strict as people could complete short games then get a refund, maybe Sony could use the game completion tracker that pretty much all PS5 games have to base refunds on. So if you have played a game and are more than 15% complete then you're not eligible for a refund.

I know these are 99% unlikely to happen but one can hope.

@rjejr I wouldn't be surprised if Sony stop selling the Portal in the EU because of the same reason.

This is great news for single player games but how will this work for live service games which rely on servers to run, you can't force a company to keep servers running forever.

The lack of a proper main story and lack of NPCs put me off the game, but with this update it now has me interested.

Tbf the less people that invest in the PlayStation 6 the better it will be for us PS5 users as it means games will continue to be cross gen for many more years. Next gen will be a huge risk for any publisher to make a next gen only game.

@4fold it's not representative because you have PC and Xbox fans voting in these polls skewing the results, and these sites are mainly visited by gaming enthusiasts whereas casuals probably either don't care as they only buy 1-2 new games per year or they don't even know about this situation as they don't check gaming sites.

I don't thinks it's actually that percentage, there's already masses of Xbox and PC fan boys flooding this site daily so obviously they would vote for that option to make the situation look worse. Just like when Sony releases a first party games there's always people voting for the options 0-3.

So I would take this survey with a massive pinch of salt.

Looking forward to seeing more of these two games, might even get both of these digitally.

Not a chance, PC is also all digital but it's way too fiddly. I'm going to get a PS5 Pro in a few months and that will be me set until 2-3 years into the PS6 cycle, hopefully by then the price has dropped.

The PS5 and Switch 2 is all I need for a very long time.

4 more years for it to release, another 2 years until it's fixed and then another 2 years for the complete edition with DLC.

@ShadowRJ We all have different opinions and have a passion about this hobby so don't think you've done anything wrong by expressing your opinions, but like others have said if it's effecting your mental health then I definitely think having a break from this is the right decision.

@2-bit But with digital codes the retailer sets the price, just like with Xbox having their games sold on CD keys and Shopto (UK), they are cheaper than they are on the Xbox store. If people can shop around for cheaper prices on digital games then surely it becomes more acceptable.

Only thing missing then is a way to trade in our digital games which I think someone surely has to implement soon, even if the trade in value is just credit to spend on the store.

Knowing that the only alternative is PC which is also digital only I think I will just start building my digital library on Playstation going forward and then get the Pro in a few months and stick with that for about 5 years before getting the PS6.

With less than half a percent of the player base being vocal about this I'd say Sony don't care, also they won't care about getting ratios on X lol.

Also people seem to have skipped over the part where Sony said retailers will start selling digital codes, so no your not locked to only Sony's store for purchases.

I'm sure they will be back spending money when GTA 6 releases.

@TheArt Like Nintendo who have started charging more for physical than the digital versions of first party games. But in reality that's the way it should be, digital should be cheaper than physical.

I think that's the best they can do right now, continue as normal and just ignore the comments. As long as they are getting people watching the trailers for these games then that's all that matters, it's only a small percentage that will watch the trailer and check the comments.

Tempted to get the second game on steam deck, saw it yesterday for £4.99.

@ShadowRJ Well there's been multiple articles suggesting they are reevaluating it. I think they will purely as PR stunt over Sony to lure over those that still want physical games.
