Played it safe? So it plays like the previous two games which I thoroughly enjoyed, so "playing it safe" in a sequel is exactly what i want to hear.

There's also a large amount of gamers that rely on Subscriptions for their gaming and free to play games like Fortnite and gacha games like Genshin. Also the casuals that just play Fifa and Cod religiously will bring the percentage down.

I buy around 30+ newly released games per year across Playstation and Nintendo, I've bought 8 this past month alone.

Sony not marketing Call of Duty anymore but still getting the majority of the players, so much money wasted.

The last main Persona and SMT games screwed over day one players, so I wouldn't hold my breath that this game would be any different. But this time round I won't be supporting their upgraded version (if it exists), now if it's standalone DLC like with Aegis then I will get it day one.

Don't you dare Atlus.....

Sony need to take full control, get marathon sorted out and released, and then turn Bunjie into a single player developer maker some exclusive shooters.

Wish I voted for Silent Hill F if it meant it beating out Silksong.

Oh boy this months a tough one, it's out of Borderlands 4, Trails in the Sky and Silent Hill F. I'm going to go with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, such an amazing remake and one of the best JRPG's I've played on the PS5.

Even Microsoft were to release another console it would just flop even more than their last two consoles. With them raising the prices of gamepass and putting their games onto Playstation there's going to be a lot of players jumping to Playstation next gen.

If this gen isn't their last then next gen certainly will be.

Sony will still have competition from Nintendo and PC, Xbox weren't even serious competitors at this point anyway.

A lot of great games have silent protagonists, Persona 5 and SMT Vengeance were excellent games and they had silent protagonists....

Not surprised by this as its the biggest budget and the best digimon game they've put out.

@Flaming_Kaiser Over on Purexbox there's a lot of fans now turning on Xbox and cancelling their gamepass subs. It's like every couple of months they do something to harm their brand even more and make more players shift to Playstation (or Nintendo).

@Oram77 Yeah I do plan on playing the whole series, maybe they will get put onto Playstation plus premium at some point. Although I think remakes of all 3 are inevitable at this point so I may just wait.

@Oram77 I played Silent Hill 1 on PS1 but never completed it, the only other ones I've played are Homecoming and Book of Memories.

7/10 for me, the atmosphere, story and visuals are really good. The negatives though are maybe deal breakers if I knew about them beforehand I probably wouldn't have bought the game. The combat difficulty, multiple endings and weapon break system are what's stopping me from scoring this any higher.

Sony doesn't release these types of games multiple times a year though so they don't get tiresome to me, I don't mind them sticking to what they are best at.

Not bothered if it makes it over or not, to me Halo is one of the most overrated game series of all time.

I can see loads of YouTubers covering the game, and it's currently the 5th most watched twitch game.

Wow Xbox are now truly finished and gamepass will see a huge decline after this. If it was so sustainable then an increase wouldn't be needed, pretty clear their whole strategy around gamepass and cloud is crumbling around them and I can guarantee they regret buying Bethesda and ABK.

Really enjoyed the demo so il keep my pre order, still looks and sounds better then any previous digimon games.

The misses ended up buying it me and the gold Yotei controller for my birthday which means I can't start it until the 27th 😢.

Don't know how I feel about the game yet, I'm currently 6 hours in and the atmosphere and visuals are amazing, the story is superb so far as well. But, the combat isn't the greatest and feels more like a souls game which I dont like and then theres the weapon break system which is putting me off. I will stick with the game for now though as I love everything else about the game, just hope it doesn't get too hard.

I'd rather them remake the first and then see if there's enough interest for them to make a sequel.

I don't get this mentality of "all marvel games should be multiplatform".

Are all Marvel films and tv shows multiplatform? No they are on Disney+ because they are the guys who funded and made them. So Sony funding and making marvel games means they are exclusive to Sony's platform of choice.

The wait is nothing compared to games like Final Fantasy 15 and Persona 6.

Great month overall, AW2 and Cocoon are great additions which il save for December as there's too many games releasing right now. Also TLOU 2 Remastered for us Extra subscribers, what a month.

This time of year is always insane, currently dealing with Trails in the Sky, Borderlands 4, Silent Hill F and Atelier Resleriana and I've got Ghost of Yotei, Digimon Time Stranger, Mario Galaxy HD pack and Final Fantasy Tactics on pre order 😭. Though I suppose it's a good problem to have....

Ignore the haters, there's a reason it's won over 300 game of the year awards, true masterpiece.

On Switch 2 it's just Star Wars Outlaws for me this weekend.

@get2sammyb how about a Playstation All Stars in the style of Marvel Tokon and made by Arc System.

I would much prefer a reward system that pays me for every trophy I earn, doesn't have to be much, maybe 2p per bronze trophy, 5p silver, 10p gold and 30p platinum and it's obviously given as in store credit. That's a incentive for people to invest more time into their games.

Currently sitting at 87 metacritic which is 4 higher than Tsushima, can't wait for next Friday to come.

And people will still try and convince you console gaming is dying 😂

Pretty much the only good thing shown, if it releases a few months later I may get it purely because it's set in Japan. Hopefully there's a lot of anime style decals and maybe even some official collabs. Will also be interesting to see what soundtracks they go with, imagine some Hatsune Miku 😂.

@somnambulance Yeah just seemed like Sony got the scraps for the third party trailers. Alan Wake 2 and TLOU 2 coming to Playstation Plus we're better announcements than most of the trailers.

The worst thing is the brand that's dead in Japan (Xbox) will have a longer showcase and more Japanese made games shown, just baffling as this was Sony's chance to show some big Japanese games to get the Japanese fan base interested again. But seems like Sony got the scraps with these third party reveals, are third parties just not interested anymore as they are guaranteed sales on playstation anyway or are Sony just not willing to pay for them since they are in a position of having no competition that they don't feel the need to try.

First showcase/direct/SoP that I've came away from only interested in one game shown (Wolverine).

Well if I'm to compare it to the last main SoP and Nintendo Direct then this was very poor. Honestly nothing interested me at all until the Wolverine reveal which by the way looks incredible. But yeah the rest i have no interest in, either top down indies, shooters, souls like and gachas, even with Saros it may look great but then I remembered it's a Souls Like Rogue Like which is just a combination of two genres I hate.

So yeah, a 5/10 from me and that 5 is purely for Wolverine, like I said looks incredible and I trust Insonmiac to get the quality right on release, early candidate for 2026 GOTY right there.

I expect to see Saros, Wolverine and Marvel Tokon, I wouldn't hold my breath for anything more than that from Sony right now, although I would love to see some Astro Bot DLC.

I'm not too far into it but it's been amazing so far and a big step up from their previous games.

@Ultimapunch Some of this year's best selling games are open world though, games like AC Shadows, Oblivion Remake, Mario Kart World, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Monster Hunter Wilds to some extent and Forza Horizon 5. Then open world games like Minecraft and GTA 5 continue to sell millions evey year, Zelda went open world and sold the best the series ever has, Xenoblade is open world and is beloved by Nintendo fans, even Metroid is getting the open world treatment. I just think the more powerful consoles have got the more ambitious developers have become, and for me personally the most ambitious thing you can do for your game is by going open world.

In terms of the prices going up I don't think that will effect game sales, the fact more and more people are buying games digitally just shows the majority don't care about the cost as digital is more expensive than physical. Those struggling with finances will still get the game but just wait for a sale or as a present over Christmas.

So I think the game will sell decent figures, not as good as the first game though as direct sequels are know to sell less than the first game.
