Other thing no one has complained about yet is if must have ps plus too so you have to pay £70 for the game then £50 for plus if you don’t already have this. And if you finish with plus then your game is useless. Something feels terribly wrong there.
@Medic_Alert ha! I loved this game. On my third play through currently while trying to platinum it. Must admit I do skip the cutscenes though. Too much to watch them more than once
@MightyDemon82 Makes absolutely no sense but that gets me more excited about the game. My biggest problem is if this starts getting 10's across the board on review date and I struggle to resist a day 1 purchase which would be stupid given my backlog...
Is Keanu Reeves actually in the game? Seen him linked with it for ages but not seen him in any of the gameplay vids I've seen - although trying to watch as little as possible. Plan is to get through an ungraded Witcher 3 on PS5 first then pick the full PS5 version of this, hopefully at a reduced cost if lucky enough
Most important question for me, is it still crazy difficult. It just looks so incredible but what’s the point if I never get further than 5 minutes in and don’t get to see it all. Will definitely need to try the demo first.
@Salohcin I’m with you. Bought the game - looks amazing but struggled with the difficulty and then the endless loading times. Will try hard to get back into this on PS5 without the load times, but I’d love them to patch in a “souls noob” mode that slightly lowers difficulty so o can play it through after spending my money. Understand that is also blasphemous as well. Just so much money to spend to not be able to play it!!
Does anyone else think that Plus has resulted in not buying games (or at least anywhere near as many games) because they'll possibly end up here and/or there's so many to get through from previous months? I've never had Game Pass but will very likely end up getting it with an Xbox Series X next gen but surely that will further result in me never buying a game ever again, between that and plus. I'll be sorted the whole of next gen (not forgetting the current backlog). Reason I mention is because although I'd say I'm against this games as service idea - I think I'm already there, almost forced into it secretly without knowing which makes me think perhaps the whole industry needs to go that way. No point in me buying Miles Morales as it will end up as part of a Sony service at some point. No point me buying a Bethesda or any game that is released on MS console as it'll either definitely or very likely end up on Game Pass - so any dev NOT offering their game on a subscription service will miss out on my money?
@AJDarkstar Yeah I did try them but their all access links just took me to Game and Smyths as I don't think they do the deal themselves. To be honest I'll just have to wait. Now the hype has died down a bit it was probably just greedy of me to want both the PS5 and Series X right now (and I can't afford both without the all access option).
@710King I'd guess perhaps US had a lot more available there seeing as though its predominantly Xbox territory while Europe and rest of the world tends to favour PS. Also sounds like the Series S is struggling to sell here in the UK. Shame its not the case with the X right now
@deathaxe yes the X. And did notice the S still available. Crazy that its struggling to sell a next gen machine already. Wonder what sort of split they did - 50/50? Heard the PS5 digital was very low numbers but sounds like probably made sense given the Xbox S struggles.
@710King I'd disagree with that myself. Managed a PS5 preorder 9am the morning Sony said, while 8am for Xbox I logged onto Game, spent 20 minutes queued onto the site and was OOS by the time I got in. Smyths was OOS when I went on at 8am. Didn't help seeing an article about ebay selling Xboxs before I even got passed the Game queue!
After the Bethesda announcement this feels a little flat and pointless. A new Silent Hill, however, would bring a little bit a joy to PS fans. I miss that series massively 🙁
My bite point is £20 for top quality games. GOW, Spider-Man, LOU, bloodborne, Last guardian, horizon zero dawn. All £20 few months after release. Then all other ‘not quite sure’ games I purchase at £10 limit. Doom, Wolfenstein, prey as examples. I broke that once for last of us 2 because I knew I’d get the story spoilt if I waited too long! Imagine PS5 will be the same as well. Just have to be patient and enjoy my 200 game backlog from PS plus in the meantime....
My biggest gripe with this game is the difficulty. I struggle with difficult games. Haven’t played any of these ones but bought Bloodborne and really struggled. The massive loading times after each death didn’t help. Plan is to retry Bloodbourne on PS5 without loading times to see if that helps. If I manage then I might try this one day. It does look brilliant.
Going to say something a bit out there but I wonder if what Sony have done is actually the right thing to do. Woah there just hear me out. The only people who really know about the pre orders are people like us who visit these sites and watch press releases. I’ll call them the ‘hardcore’ group. These are the only ones hammering it out early hours trying to get one. MS on the other hand are telling the whole world which included hardcore and the other group (I’ll call them casual gamers) so every man and his dog will be waiting on preorder day / time trying to get one. Doesn’t that mean PS5 has been more accessible to the hardcore than the Xbox who’ll have to compete with the COD and FIFA crew? I look forward to the angry replies 😂. Reading on PUre Xbox site it sounds like Sony are evil for doing it though and that MS are the only company that cares for their customers!! I managed to get a PS5 and will be trying for a series X. I know which strategy I prefer so far!
Urgh... wasn’t going to get one and was going to take the series X first but Sony did well. Show the event and pretty much take the pre-orders while the hype is still in the brain. Got mine on Amazon pre-ordered. Interestingly the standard oos while the digital still available as of now.
Had no interest in an Xbox at all, but £29 a month for 2 years for the big Xbox version with game pass and ea stuff all thrown in, I really am starting to think My plan will be: 1) buy Xbox (powerful one). 2) over next 2 years play all Games I’ve never played previously inc any new games they release 3) 2 years down the line buy a PS5 once cheaper / improved model 4) buy all the next gen games I missed on ps5 but now for £10 bargain ps sale instead of £60 release day
I’m now desperate for Sony to convince me of a better option ASAP. And certainly before the Xbox preorders come in and I panic buy 🤣
I find the extreme views between GOT and LOU2 is what’s putting me off buying GOT. I loved LOU2 and am surprised by how much people can’t see it as okay, it has to be a 0/10 and in the same breath will say GOT is 10/10. It makes me think their view is invalid in this situation even if it shouldn’t. Saying this I also struggled with Witcher 3 and bloodborne which I’m gutted about, although will give them both a retry on PS5 once the loading issues are sorted. They’re too too damn difficult!!
Shocking how upset people are about his choice. He’s allowed to prefer Xbox and for him it might be better. I personally can’t see any reason why Anyone would prefer Xbox over ps5 other than saving money with game pass, and I doubt he needs to save money. But he just might really really like Halo and Forza. Simple as that.
Who knows!! But the interesting thing here for me is it sounds like MS are thinking of something to change everything. It’s what happens when you fail so heavily against the competition - you have to change for the better. If they do this then it’s brilliant news.
Ha loved seeds of evil. Definitely will get this. Spent half my uni day’s repeating the awesome quotes from it such as “more meat for the table” and “I undress myself”. No? Just me then!
I really don’t follow Xbox that closely but all these different models makes me really not want to start trying. In my head there is an Xbox One that came after the 360. Then there are lot of different versions with a letter on the end. I’ve heard of an S and an X. And now they are releasing an Xbox series That is a super powered one. I’m lame when it comes to computers. I hate trying to understand what a decent PC is based on numbers, cpu, ram names etc. Can’t we just have PS4, ps5 style set ups? Less scary!
I went MS for the 360 generation - but felt burnt by the number of machines I had to buy so Eventually went PS3 then PS4. The main games I play are god of war, Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Last Of Us 1,2, unchartered + 3rd party ones like Witcher, red dead. Simply put I play single player story driven games. Does anyone have MS equivalent 1st party games I’m missing out on - because only coming to this site for info I have no knowledge of what I could be missing out on. I don’t like halo, gears or racing games from 360 days so anything else I should investigate? I doubt it would make me not buy a PS5 but it may convince me to consider an Xbox first if the prices differ wildly.
@Possessed - sounds an interesting idea. I have a PC so googled the 3080ti but it’s over £1000! I can’t afford that ☹️ Especially if I need to upgrade my pc just to be able to run it. Don’t even know if I could do it.
I bought Bloodbourne for £30. Played for a few hours in total and only just got passed about 2 enemies. Just died, died, died over and over. The game looks awesome but I’ll never get to see or experience it and I wasted £30.
Will avoid known difficult games forever more. I don’t get Time to learn character positions, movements etc so being excited for ps5 and releasing a souls remake will be a big let down for me.
Would love a really exciting new IP that could only be done by PS5 and not an old IP that just looks like a prettier version of a PS4 game.
@ShaiHulid yes I understand what you’re saying but saying the solution to having AA batteries is to go out and buy rechargeable set of batteries doesn’t really convince me. I would just recommend buying 27 PS4 controllers and you’ll never be without. Rechargeable batteries will still have the problem of having to take them out to recharge them and it’s still not better than just plugging in a cable and continuing playing.
I’m in a situation right now where I can’t use my fire stick controller because the AAA batteries have run out so I’m waiting for delivery in a week to be able to use it.
Look I love the 80’s but perhaps I’m just a bit down on old school batteries right now and I’ll come around once they turn up and I can get Netflix back on in the bedroom again.
No one will ever convince me AA batteries is the best option. I never run out of battery on controller because they always go back in charge and I guess if one did I’d just pick up the other one. Imagine having to constantly go out to the store to buy packets and packets of batteries for anything other than the tv remote (which is annoying enough!)
Whenever the kids are given a toy that requires batteries my first thought is ‘great, how much is this going to cost me by the end of the year!’
Simple question is would you want your smart phone to have AA batteries even though that thing dies everyday without fail?
