Re: Highguard Already Trying Something Different as Player Numbers Plummet

StitchJones

@slabula inaccurate. the game sucks and is bombing. sorry. this is the first weekend. friday is over and saturday is here, no increase in numbers. Kinda sad the weekend is when most people are off and the game is still stagnant. It will be forgotten about fast. This has to go down as the worst game awards trailer in history now that we see its performance. And the fact it was end of show makes it even more putrid.

Re: Highguard Already Trying Something Different as Player Numbers Plummet

StitchJones

Strong start? It went up to 90k players shortly after release, cause its free and alot of people wanted to try it after the infamous GA's trailer. Then it plummeted in just hours after that with the numbers staying abysmal. Far from a strong start. Unless only 2 hours of good numbers in a games whole life span classify as a strong start these days

Re: Play Nioh 3 Now in Free PS5 Demo

StitchJones

just tried the demo. God this game looks putrid. The character models/textures are gross. The first TLOU remaster on ps4 craps all over this game and that wasn't a full on remake, just a remastered bump of a ps3 game.

Team Ninja gotta be the laziest F's in the industry. Rise of the ronin looked like dogmeat as well. We're in ps5 era. I don't expect everything to look like Decima. But damn, stop being lazy and get a F'in graphics engine already. No excuse for this slop

Re: Highguard Is Already Struggling to Hold Players' Attention

StitchJones

The writing was on the wall this game looked like garbage at the GA's. Hopefully Concord and Highguard finally get it through to this industry that nobody wants a new Hero shooter. Don't waste your time. There's some decent talent at this studio, they could have made a brand new FPS story heavy shooter in the vain of a Halo or Killzone, but totally original.

what a total waste of time and resources this was.

Re: Hands On: Highguard Is Real and Potentially Great on PS5

StitchJones

"After closing out The Game Awards, there has been radio silence, which led many to believe that another Concord was upon us. That remains to be seen"

Just the fact that they are saying "it remains to be seen" still, after playing it, tells me all i need to know. Where's the confidence? Being a "concord" is the worst outcome imaginable. That game was shut down so fast after launch. And the article is still saying that's a possibility. Not what you want to hear in a hands on impressions piece

Re: Highguard Finally Breaks Silence, Watch the Launch Showcase Next Week

StitchJones

@dskatter I still find it hilarious they ended the game awards with a free to play, generic hero shooter. Just more rubbish nobody asked for. Last year our doors were blown off by Intergalactic as the show closer. I think it was safe to say people had tempered expectations. But there was prob 10 other games at the show that would have made a better closer then this

Re: Kiln Is a Pottery Party Brawler from Double Fine, Coming to PS5 in 2026

StitchJones

Listen, I applaud Double Fine for thinking outside the box here and trying something diff. This industry has been "samey" and "safe" for awhile. But a pottery MP game?

Brutal Legend was outside the box and different. Featured licensed music, iconic real world musicians etc. But stayed true to a video game in form with its mechanics/gameplay.

So why can't they think differently but make something more like Brutal legend instead of Pottery? lol even sounds crazy to the ear.

Re: GreedFall 2 Adds to Busy March 2026 Schedule with Final PS5 Release Date

StitchJones

The first game was a solid competent RPG and this sequel could have been a great sophomore effort. But wtf, why all of a sudden shift the combat system from action RPG in the 1st game, to turn based for the sequel? They trying to be like Baldurs gate 3?

I can't stand turned based games I'll admit and I'm not hating on them for no reason. We all have our own tastes. I'm calling this out cause of the sudden drastic change from game 1 to the sequel. Why fix what's not broken? Esp moving to a whole new combat system. I guess they didn't sell enough copies of the 1st game to feel like they were abandoning fans?

Re: Life Is Strange: Reunion Revives One of Gaming's Iconic Relationships on PS5

StitchJones

say what you want about where this series and even how these kind of games have fallen off since the OG LIS. But looking back, one the great moments in gaming is the Chaos theory act, with kids will be skeletons playing, max riding the bus to see what happened to Chloe, arriving at her house as a cliff hanger.

I wish the use of licensed music to set tones and atmosphere in story driven games, was more common in this industry. LIS hit it out of the park. A few other acts in that game ended in epic fashion with a song driving the scene

Re: Naughty Dog Forces Crunch to Get PS5 Exclusive Intergalactic 'Back on Track' for Mid 2027 Release

StitchJones

When it comes to crunch in game development I don't wanna hear sh**. I'm a former restaurant worker of 30yrs. Used to work 70 to 80hours a week. Manning a 6 burner sauté station, that had a 400 degree oven below and a salamander (broiler) head level, all blasting on me for every one of those hours. Not to mention all the other equipment that made the kitchen reach 110 in the summer time. So....hitting a deadline for a game demo would be like paradise compared

Re: 2016's The Division Now Runs Smoother Than Ever on PS5

StitchJones

for my money Division 2 craps all over ARC raiders and most shooter games as a service. Its probably a very long ways off, but I would love Division 3 to be a ps6 launch window title. I hammered division2 for countless hours. I'm done lol. So a brand new one would be bangin

Re: 'If I Don't Belong in the Games Industry, I'll Have to Look Elsewhere': Keita Takashashi Moves Back to Japan After To a T Flopped

StitchJones

I try to have respect for most game dev's unless they are lazy and don't fix their broken games months after release (looking at you Borderlands 4 and Oblivion remaster), or they are too lazy to upgrade their game engines 3 gens in a row (cough, team ninja, cough).

So I respect what this man decided to do with this To a t game, but in reality after watching the trailer, lets be honest, nobody should be surprised this game flopped.

Re: 'Grace Is the Biggest Scaredy-Cat in Resident Evil History': Capcom Details How Leon's Gameplay Will Differ in Requiem

StitchJones

I want this to be my Halloween game in October. But I have no clue if I'll be able to not get this day1. haha @Stragen8 man i still remember a bud at my job way back when, said he was playing this new thing called resident evil on ps1. Alot of gamers at that job, so we all had water cooler moments. So I bought it and it was amazing. Nostalgia there man. RE1 hit with the games industry kind of like how mortal kombat and GTA3 did. Maybe not as huge, but still a pivotal moment in gaming
