Re: NHL 26 (PS5) - A Small Step in the Right Direction for EA's Hockey Sim

StitchJones

@gbanas92 agreed. And I didn't even go into how the presentation has been such a turn off and buzzkill for years now. When they did the live pregame interviews with real footage of Doc and (forgot who was in the booth with him) it was like authentic Hockey. I thought that was freaking awesome. Like a real TV broadcast.

Now after ditching that and not replacing it with any kind of authentic presentation, its made the game an even bigger mess. The most perplexing thing is the stupid Xfactors. When the game is going on and the female announcer chimes in from rinkside saying things like "ovechkin blasted that one from the point utililizing his sniper Xfactor" its just plain dumb and too much like its some arcade fantasy hockey. Xfactors turn the game into an RPG of sorts. Next thing you'll hear is NHL 28 will be going "open world"

Re: Ghost of Yotei (PS5) - The Greatest Sucker Punch Game Ever

StitchJones

@DNortonX I was another person that got blasted for saying this about the graphics. Even though I stated I will still be getting this day one and that graphics don't mean everything. I was still blasted. I'm excited for this game. Its just sad you can't say jack on any internet comment section, even if you are polite, and not get blasted by comment section warriors. Sad

Re: Sony Celebrates 20 Years of God of War with New PS5 Controller

StitchJones

@Questionable_Duck This years game awards is Dec 11th. Thats only 2 1/2 months from now. So state of plays are prob over and the next reveals will be at the awards show. You would think its got to be shown there. I hope the next look at intergalactic as well. I think Wolverines Fall 26' release window confirmed Intergalactic is gonna be a '27 game

Re: NHL 26 (PS5) - A Small Step in the Right Direction for EA's Hockey Sim

StitchJones

Every year for the last decade with NHL you can sum up the review in "small steps in the right direction" as stated in this review once again. My question is, how many steps are needed to be on point for a great game, 30? 40? So maybe in 3 more decades. Disgusting. It sucks too cause I'm a hockey addict. But I can't support this cut and paste rubbish anymore with my $$$$

Re: Nioh 3 PS5 Release Date Leaks Ahead of State of Play

StitchJones

@Slayer25c Nioh is not known for top graphics, your reply made no sense. Anyways, I'm not calling them out for not having "top graphics". I understand not every dev is into having a cutting edge graphics engine. But when you are a gen and a half behind in your engine than there is no excuse for that other then laziness.

Re: Nioh 3 PS5 Release Date Leaks Ahead of State of Play

StitchJones

@JohntheRaptor Ok that was alittle extreme of an example, but its a known thing in gaming that their engines are a gen and half behind, which just irks laziness by the dev. It doesn't have to be a banger in fidelity, but this is ps5 now, there's no excuse for a game that looks like it could run on a ps3pro if there was such a thing

Re: Nioh 3 PS5 Release Date Leaks Ahead of State of Play

StitchJones

What I'd like to know is did they finally upgrade their engine for this game so it at least looks like a beefed up ps4 game minimum, or are we still looking at ps3 era graphics with this 3rd installment? Team ninja are one of the laziest developers in gaming on this front

Re: Is This the First Tease of Next-Gen PS6 Graphics?

StitchJones

@nessisonett I'd rather we get games that aren't all broken and run like crap. Forget innovation. In regards to Red Dead 2, that game wasn't broken, but was def not the kind of game to push fidelity and leave frame rate aside. The main character controls like a forklift in that game. That title needs 60fps bad so its not unplayable. Terrible

Re: Silent Hill F (PS5) - Brutal Survival Horror Walks a New Path

StitchJones

@Kraven Examples. Borderlands 4 is a broken mess on every platform its on. Huge outrage w/ that game. Yet 3 of these same no-name outlets that I'm referring to gave it perfect 10's. Metal Gear Delta has performance probs too, yet it got 8 perfect 10's. You obv have no clue how reviewing works. Almost every higher profile IP gets some unwarranted perfect 10's from multiple no name outlets, since the start of time. You are either new to gaming or a comment section warrior set in your opinion like its gospel. Prob the latter. I don't argue w/ fanboys of your kind, so this is my last reply. later....

Re: Silent Hill F (PS5) - Brutal Survival Horror Walks a New Path

StitchJones

@Acquiescence No outlier. IGN gave it a 7 and Gameinformer 7.5. Those are just two ex. of well known site reviews. Its 85 on meta now. The only reason its that high is because of the no name sites that Dev's usually pay off for reviews. They all gave it five 100's and nine 95's. I'll bet my life this game doesn't deserve a perfect score or a 95 on any planet.

Re: Sony's Still Not Doing Anything with Bloodborne, It's Claimed

StitchJones

There's no way this series is dead forever. If you break it down this totally makes sense to be on ps6, early. By the time Intergalactic launches, guerilla will prob have already launched Horizon3 if not then soon, Santa monica will prob have went, Saros will be out (tying up housemarque) Wolverine out (insomniac will be tied up more then likely)

so all that said, they will need a banger to kick off ps6 since all the big dogs will be tied up making their next games

Re: Borderlands 4 Dev 'Exploring' FOV Sliders on PS5 Following Player Feedback

StitchJones

FOV slider is in like every FPS game known to man. So not only is this game a broken mess, we really have to wait for a patch to bring a freakin' FOV slider??? lmao whether you would use it or not is irrelevant, its more about the fact that us gaming consumers are really getting the shaft these days, in a very expensive hobby when you break it all down.

Re: 'Quit Game and Restart': PS5 Pro Has the Worst Version of Borderlands 4

StitchJones

@spaceghost I agree somewhat even though I bought one on day one and don't regret it. Only because its an optional upgrade. Therefore even though its a disaster to some, it didn't tank the ps5 as a generation. I just wish they upgraded the CPU more. Too much was spent on the GPU which was pointless. Its the CPU that handles more of the framerate and stability side. Yes the price would have been crazier. But if you are going to make an optional premium mid gen refresh catered to the enthusiast, then just make it a pricey beast that can handle anything. Casual gamers didn't buy this

Re: 'Quit Game and Restart': PS5 Pro Has the Worst Version of Borderlands 4

StitchJones

The next gen of consoles needs to have a selling point touted by both Sony and Xbox, as well as all the developers, that they identified this current gen has been a plague of broken software and they promise that with the new gen things will be fixed. We deserve a statement of transparency with all this now too. This hobby is too expensive for us consumers to have to worry about this nonsense.

Re: PS5 Firmware Update Out Now, Brings Power Saver Mode, DualSense Controller Pairing

StitchJones

@EK42 agreed. and to be honest these machines are already too underpowered every gen as it is. Not enough CPU headroom. Until there's enough under the hood to run every game at 60fps, with upscaled 4k, or min 1440p, then consoles should be considered underpowered. I thought ps5 was gonna be the gen for 60fps everything. Maybe ps6. 30fps is nauseating, when you pan the camera its so choppy and makes you want to puke

Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong (PS5) - A Silky Smooth Sequel Well Worth the Wait

StitchJones

I paid no attention to this series until all the hype for silksong picked up all the steam this year. I don't usually give metroid-vanias the time of day. But the hype for this made me G'fly Hollow Knight, just to see what this is all about.

I've been playing and loving it. Wish I didn't write this off by default. Now when I'm down with HK, I intend to def get HK:SS. And now I'm curious to try all the past and present metroid-vanias I never paid attention to

Re: Enjoy the New Resident Evil Requiem Trailer with Improved PS5 Graphics

StitchJones

@LogicStrikesAgain I agree with alot of what you said. You can't say anything, anywhere these days.

The problem is, comment sections are woven into the fabric of video game culture. Way, way more then any other form of entertainment, period. And every video game site is tethered to a huge comment section. For better, or for worse.

Nobody reads a preview to decide if they want to watch their fave team play on game day. And when the game is over, their team either won or lost and then thats it, they move on. Nobody requires a review or preview to help them decide what music they want to listen to, or what movie to watch. Nor do they seek out a comment section to leave an impression about the new Metallica album, or new Tom Cruise movie.

Re: 'Finish Him': Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Launches 30th October on PS5, PS4

StitchJones

@jgrangervikings1 Oh man, so many memories brought back with your reply. Yes, arcades were like the benchmark of graphics. I loved arcades. Just pure old school fun. MK2 guys would swarm the cabinet and put their quarters up on the screen. All would watch. Loser walks, winner plays the guy who's quarter is next up. I loved those days. I had the Genesis ver. of Mk1. It was pretty good man, held up nice for a home console. The EA sports NHL tourneys with HS buds on genesis is another nostalgic moment. And yes the magazines!!!

I miss the old times with media in general, esp for music, for DVD's too and trips to gamestop for me are rare. But I still have my 1200 CD collection of my fave music. And all my cassettes I grew up on. I loved when the new Maiden, Metalllica, Rush etc album would drop, getting the CD at the music store. The smell of the insert and plastic. Looking at the pics and lyrics inside.

Today's younger kids are robbed of that. When a new album drops we listen to it on apple music, or youtube with nothing "in hand" anymore. Going to the theatre is pointless. All the new movies are avail for streaming almost immediately. Movies would sometimes take 6+months to come to DVD. All the better times seem to be lost

Re: 'Finish Him': Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Launches 30th October on PS5, PS4

StitchJones

I still remember when MK1 hit arcades for the first time when I was 17. A friend was working at this amusements place that was kind of like boardwalk games but in a building instead. We played constantly. The owner ended up having to ditch Mortal because too many young kids playing other things were seeing the fatalities. When MK2 hit arcades it devoured me and 3 friends lives every day for a full summer. And probably $1,000 in quarters lol. Nostalgia!

Re: What PS5 Games Have the Best Graphics?

StitchJones

Guerilla are total Magicians with their graphics, Hence the creation of Decima. If the next Horizon is built on the Death Stranding 2 ver. of Decima it will be a huge spectacle. But if word gets out that they can even have another modified ver. of Decima on ps5 for Horizon 3 then man I bet that will become the bar of all bars for graphics, even early into ps6 since things are prob gonna be cross gen again

Re: 'We Were Debating Whether to Go Straight into The Last of Us 3': Expect More Infected in the Future

StitchJones

With all the layoffs going on around the industry, ND and many other AAA dev's need to just hire out the ass, get two projects going in full production at once, so we don't have to wait 7+ yrs between all these amazing epic games. You know how long its going to take to get a sequel to cyberpunk??? Witcher 4 is still a ways off. 2 full gens come and gone before another GTA in March. These games just take too damn long to make to just have one game in full production at a time.

Re: 'Intergalactic's the Most Ambitious Game We've Ever Made': Neil Druckmann Teases Naughty Dog's Next PS5 Project

StitchJones

@themightyant Yes totally agree. Its still sad though. Prob because this gen first party hasn't been firing on all cylinders like past gens. The want/need for mega 1st party titles is still huge this deep into ps5. I mean naughty dog hasn't even gone yet and is 2yrs away from going this gen. GOW and Horizon FW were superb, but they were cross gen and didn't really leverage ps5 and feel like true ps5 games.
