Re: 'The Solution Is to Get Rid of Consoles': Analyst Predicts $1,000 PS6 and a Transition to Game Streaming

StitchJones

Why not design a console that is a traditional/streaming hybrid? It accounts for the current RAM shortage and the unsolvable latency problem w/ streaming.

Find a way to offload a majority of the tasks RAM accounts for with a streaming solution for that, rather than trying to just purely stream games. While having the console itself handle online network, UI, other tasks etc like it's been doing all along with little latency. Still having some built in RAM, but much less keeping costs down.

Re: We Hope You're Not Sick of Soulslikes, Because Mortal Shell 2 Just Got a Massive Gameplay Trailer

StitchJones

@Oram77 I agree with you 100%. Yes there's alot of them, but if you only play the ones that are any good and as close to Fromsoft games as they can be, then there really isn't many of them. Its a genre that needs to excel in the gameplay dept too. There's so many soulslikes that are way too janky and unplayable cause they have no clue how to nail the combat.

Lords of the Fallen, Lies of P and Mortal shell are the closest to Fromsoft games as it gets. Theyre the only major non-from players in my book

Re: Opinion: Does Starfield Suck? People Keep Telling Me to Skip Its PS5 Release

StitchJones

I played it back when it launched at a time when my seriesX was not a complete paper weight. It's a solid action RPG. I would recommend if you really need to scratch a sci-fi shooter, RPG itch. But if you are hell bent on this game being Skyrim in space, having deep exploration where you are surprised at what you discover everywhere you venture, you will be let down.

Its story is decent, some cool quests, but the lack of discovery and repetitiveness is a letdown for a Bethesda game. Hence why this thing came out and was forgotten about fast. The industry could have done with or w.o. this game. Would expect better from Todd Howard/bethesda.

Re: Is That a The Last of Us 3 Tease in Neil Druckmann's Latest Social Post?

StitchJones

Elle goes out to find Dina and her baby JJ. Dina ends up getting killed somehow. Maybe by somebody Elle crossed during TLOU2, or they write Abby back in as the antagonist somehow.

Elle is tasked with caring for JJ, but jump forward in time and you have another theme like TLOU1 all over again, except its Elle being a Mother figure to a teenage JJ, while they are on the run.

Remember where you heard it folks!!! Lol

Re: Round Up: Life Is Strange: Reunion PS5 Reviews Reveal a 'Tender, Heartfelt' Conclusion to Max and Chloe's Story

StitchJones

@BrokenByTheScream Have you played Lost records: bloom and rage? That game is by Don't Nod, the dev from the OG LIS. Its not quite as epic as the OG LIS, but few games would be in its defense. It was a diff time when LIS came out, so it hit very hard. But it has enough of that OG LIS charm, likeable characters and tension. Its was a great game, I enjoyed it and can def recommend.

Re: Round Up: Life Is Strange: Reunion PS5 Reviews Reveal a 'Tender, Heartfelt' Conclusion to Max and Chloe's Story

StitchJones

Wow this is a pleasant surprise. I bought LIS: double exposure on the holiday sale, but yet to play it. Tending to the backlog and thought I'd be all up in Crimson Desert. But with CD turning out to be a no go for me, Im back to chipping away at the backlog. I thought this game would be toast since Don't Nod is no longer at the helm, so again, pleasant surprise.

Re: 'This Is Unsustainable Madness': Modern Video Game Budgets Are Out of Control

StitchJones

The avg Hollywood blockbuster movie costs anywhere from $200-$365 million to make. You watch the movie, 2hrs, maybe more and that's it, its over. I love movies to death don't get me wrong.

But with video games, the budget is close to the same, but we are getting an interactive experience, with many many more hours of interacting with the media compared to a movie.

So how much do people think these games should be to make? Considering what we get in a video game, it doesn't sound like dev costs are too out of control to me. I think maybe $70 a game is the prob. Should be $80 min.

Re: Intergalactic PS5 Seemingly Adds The Last of Us Star to Its Cast

StitchJones

@Oram77 I know, I'm dying to see the game as well. And its kinda concerning that they are still adding characters. The article says, "seemingly adds a last of us star to its cast". I would have hoped the game was cast already and much further along.

I guess I put too much stock with what was said when it was shown at the game awards. Keighley said "the game has been in development for 4yrs already". Just like hyping up Highguard, which was garbage no matter he said, it seems Keighley misspoke and mislead 2 years in a row, not just this past GA's with highguard.

Re: Hands On: Crimson Desert Runs Well Enough on PS5 Pro, But What About That Intro?

StitchJones

Man so much build up and this was supposed to be my next sprawling open world 80+ hour RPG I was gonna get lost in, but too many core gaming elements are just bad with this game. What a let down. But I guess all along, if something looks too good to be true, then its probably too good to be true. How many times have we seen this with a dev that's not established up to the likes of ND, SP, CDprojekt, Insom. etc

Re: Site News: Where's Our Crimson Desert PS5 Review?

StitchJones

I'm totally bummed. Had plans on getting lost in this world. I know metacritic of 77 is not terrible. But listening to the reviews, there's too many core components with this game that are bad. Its not simple stuff. That's the key for this game. For $70 and an RPG with a 80+hr investment, it needs to review better. In this world, if it seems "too good to be true", it's usually too good to be true.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Finally Gets a PS5 Pro Patch Very Soon

StitchJones

I did my 2nd playthrough of this epic game this past summer. Thought I was done for good. I usually never play long, sprawling RPG's a 2nd time, but Cyberpunk themed anything does it for me. Maybe I'll make this a summer thing again in a few months, if the patch brings the game's ray tracing mode up 60fps. If it does not, I don't really see the point of the patch. It looks and runs fine in Perf mode, just no RT

Re: First Crimson Desert PS5 Pro Analysis Calls It 'A Phenomenal Experience'

StitchJones

@lazarus11 Should def be the better place to play GTA6 regardless, but now I'm intrigued to know if they will have GTA running in 60fps now. I rolled my eyes many months ago when it was said "sony is working with R* to get GTA6 running at 60" But that was way before any of us knew they had PSSR2 in development so. Maybe that will be the key to it all and its not a pipe dream afterall

Re: First Crimson Desert PS5 Pro Analysis Calls It 'A Phenomenal Experience'

StitchJones

Got a Ps5pro and its been the gift that keeps on giving in my experience. Yes there's been some duds and some troubled games (is borderlands 4 memory leak even fixed yet?) But in Borderlands case, that was a developer problem. Anyways I've been anticipating this game for ages. Finally getting insight into the console ver. is great. Hope it turns out good for you base ps5 players.

Re: Round Up: GreedFall 2 PS5 Reviews Suggest a Rough Start for the RPG Sequel

StitchJones

How do they even call this a proper sequel? They totally abandoned the action RPG style and made the sequel's combat, tactical turned based. I mean wtf? Why would you turn the whole combat mechanic upside down for your sophomore effort? They got a crack at making a sequel and instead of refining the core mechanics and making a better game for #2, they ditch everything they built. lmao

Re: Study Claims Sony's PS5 Games Are Leaving Big PC Sales on the Table

StitchJones

@Godot25 Whatever bro. I don't really care either way. I don't have stock in Sony, a PC company, or xbox etc etc etc. With not having any money invested in them, its a fools errand to give a F how they handle their business. All I know is, Playstation is alive, well and not going anywhere. So we have to wait longer for the AAA games, but there sure hasn't been a shortage of games to play. The back half of this gen has been loaded. As long as I have games to play, which I will, theyre not going away, then they can cancel whatever they wish on the other platforms. Everyone likes to sound like Sony's decisions directly affect their lives. But that's what this world has morphed into in the age of social media, comment sections, whatever. Everyone thinks they have a voice now cause they can type it out on the net. At the end of the day the fact is, NOBODY F'in CARES!!!

Re: PS6 Competitor from Xbox Revealed as Project Helix

StitchJones

I see she's a clown picking up right where Phil, the former clown left off. If i had a dollar every time xbox said "our console will lead in performance" or "most power console ever" all while the xbox-titanic continues to sink with every announced console I'd be rich.

Xbox oneX-"Most powerful console at the time".......the much weaker ps4 continued to piss all over it in sales.

Xbox seriesX announced-"the most powerful console ever created"-........the weaker base ps5 not only pissed all over it, games ran better on it and the whole gen it wasn't even close in sales.

next gen ps6, next xbox.....will be the same song and dance.

Re: Crimson Desert Confirms PSSR 2 on PS5 Pro, But Glowing Previews All Based on PC Version

StitchJones

@tangyzesty yeah I know, i heard them say that. Whatever the case, I'm itching for a new sprawling RPG type of game (is that better?)

It seems these devs been pushing this game into people's minds hard since announcement. The game has had like 200 freakin' videos/trailers the last year alone. And they keep pushing the "we're different and huge" vibe too. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to have enough RPG elements to be an official RPG in the end, when they stop talking and just release the game lol

Re: Sony Returns to PlayStation Exclusivity and Stops Single Player PC Ports, New Report Says

StitchJones

@Gemini53 yeah, its kinda cheezy, the only really good top notch acting was by Eastwood and Mario Van P. Everyone else is just filler roles. One subtle line I always found funny in that movie, is when stich is playing clubs and the announcer is introducing him. He says "back from an awesomely successful tour!!!!"

Lmao, awesomely successful???? The dude got into fights and thrown out of every club he played in the movie hahaha

Re: Sony Returns to PlayStation Exclusivity and Stops Single Player PC Ports, New Report Says

StitchJones

@spikes91 @Toot1st
Good. Sony took decades building the best 1st party portfolio out of any company. By no means should our games land on xbox when they go pc/console hybrid next gen. I don't mind PC getting the TLOU's or Horizon's of our world, after they've been out for 5yrs or so. But sorry PC players, if you don't like it, then go talk to xbox for F'in this all up.

@Greifchen speaking of exclusives, nice avatar by the way. I can't wait

Re: 'We're Not Hiding Anything': Crimson Desert Dev 'Sick' of Claims Around No PS5 Footage

StitchJones

@Oram77 Yeah, well said. It's like his mind is on people preordering the game and pushing it to people instead of addressing. The whole "let it cook" statement is the one that's crazy to me the most.

This game prob holds the record for most amount of trailers and times shown since announcement and has gone gold ages ago. Nothing should be raw at this stage which still needs cooking. Maybe some polish, but if you can't show the ps5 ver. at this stage then uhhhhh ohhhhh

Re: Bandai Namco Teases 'New RPG', to Be Revealed This Week

StitchJones

@Balaam_ 100% with you. Nightreign and Duskbloods both are a waste of Fromsoft's genius and resources. We fromsoft diehards want them to stick to their strength. The most epic Souls-bornes we can get. (Lies of P/Lords of the fallen fantastic, but nothing else has the Fromsoft secret sauce)

Therefore please let this be a new From game. Its been a minute since Elden ring. I need that itch scratched

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 622

StitchJones

Well I tried my best to hold off on Rez Evil req till October for Halloween but the recent DF video on how it uses PSSR2 broke me. Started last night. The game's graphics, art direction, atmosphere is abso fantastic!!!! I still think Decima is the pinnacle engine right now. But RE engine is def 2nd and right up there only a millimeter behind Decima

Re: Hands On: Marathon Is Dense, Demanding, and Drop Dead Gorgeous

StitchJones

@nomither6 Listen I appreciate your opinion, and I will never mock you for what you're saying. But obv its debatable whether or not Sony's rep is damaged. And if it is, how much so. I do not believe Sony rep is damaged one bit atm. What have they really done this gen to lose the trust of the fanbase? What heinous thing do you speak of, because I have no idea what that would be.

If we are talking about the whole live service push, then sorry, that was a business decision that was kind of worth the gamble for them, from a business perspective. I'm like everyone else. I think it was a dumb idea, it pushed back some games from the big dogs that prob should have been out already, but there certainly hasn't been a lack of games this gen. Its been pretty stacked overall and not slowing down due to the GTA6 affect.

Turns out closing bluepoint was fairly justifiable with todays new info. The whole Bloodborne remake thing Sony got crap for, turns out fromsoft is the culprit on that one, shot it down hard when Sony wanted to greenlight it.

Sony just passed ps3 lifetime sales already only 5yrs into this gen. 97million consoles sold and still going. Seems to me like their rep is perfectly fine atm, the numbers don't lie my guy.

Re: Hands On: Marathon Is Dense, Demanding, and Drop Dead Gorgeous

StitchJones

@Dorkthrone I agree with you. That's the way the world seems to work online these days. Its such a fools errand to get into arguments or leave opinions on things that are subjective and fail/succeed based on taste.

Even with things like the Bluepoint closure. Everyone was so quick to jump on Sony and bash with little detail. Then the news drops about what really went on behind the scenes and Sony wasn't so out of line closing them. Bluepoint made a ton of bad decisions, was pitching head scratching ideas. And was totally fumbling their task on hand, which lead to its cancellation.

But no, nobody wants to take into account what could be happening behind the scenes. They like to "read article, take at face value, then spew hate accordingly and immediately"

Re: Hands On: Marathon Is Dense, Demanding, and Drop Dead Gorgeous

StitchJones

@Nnfyrbsnss "The visual design is broken at the core and I am dumbstruck as to why anyone finds it appealing."

Wow you might win an award for "most self-centered and ignorant comment of the year"

You're basically implying that since you don't like the art style, then nobody should. That's the only way you could possibly be dumbstruck as to why its getting a lot of praise for its visuals since the server slam went live, by many outlets. So clearly, the visual design can not possibly be broken as you say. Only to you.

The only thing broken at its core here is your ego-centric bias towards the game. I think maybe you wanted this thing to be another Concord for some odd reason, its pulling its weight after all and you seem bitter.

Re: Shuttered Dev Bluepoint Wanted to Remake Bloodborne, FromSoftware Blocked It

StitchJones

Looks like everyone's crying about Bluepoint was all for nothing and an apology to Sony is due. Demon's souls was fantastic. But they had no clear direction or leadership at that studio with very bad ideas/decisions.

They pitched a Ghosts of T spinoff? SP prolly like "no, get your own franchise, that's ours. We got Yotei coming out soon anyways"

Pitched an updated ver. of shadows of Collusus. WhyTF do we need that??? lmao

Everyone frying Sony over Bloodborne relentlessly and turns out Fromsoft was the culprit.

The GOW game-"the developer supposedly made little progress with the project and "spent several years floundering" with it."

Can't blame Sony for not wanting to pour $$$ into a losing operation.

Re: Kena: Scars of Kosmora Is Now Available for Wishlist on PS Store and PC

StitchJones

@Americansamurai1 @wilky2988 @LogicStrikesAgain If it indeed turns out to be a huge, deep RPG with like a 30-40+ hour campaign, wouldn't it be worth the reg price of $70? Wilky here said, he can't see spending more then $50 on this like EX33. If a game is done by a similar studio to EX33's, is that the auto expected price their game should be now or something? If so, thats a crazy notion
