Re: AAA John Wick Game Announced for PS5

StitchJones

@SteveJaye Dare I say someone should do Equalizer games with Denzel himself in them? Revenge/helping the helpless themes straight from the movies. That would be kinda cool. And this game looks like it has promise. Will have to see more, but looking great so far.

Re: Here's Your Chance to Tell Sony What You Think of Horizon Hunters Gathering

StitchJones

@UltimateOtaku91 @AdamNovice whatever the case, its too bad they did this and just didn't go with the ver. of Decima we know and love. Maybe this game would have a better chance. I understand some people like cartoony games. Im not mocking that. But when you decide to pour time and $$$ into a spin off, in a crowded live service/co-op/hero shooter space, then you are playing with fire by also making it cartoony which appeals to less people.

Just imagine how good this could have been, if it was basically Helldivers 2 concept, but with the insane Decima visuals and you are fighting in the Horizon world vs the machines, rather then araknids or whatever is in Helldivers. Even be as bold as marketing it as such as well. Piggy back off the success of Helldivers 2. Be a clone, who cares. There's no shame in that. Better to do that then set yourself up to possibly go the way of Concord, Highguard or Marathon.

Cause not only do the visuals in Horizon mainline look amazing, the gameplay is king too. Nothing more fun then taking apart machines, piece by piece. There would be so much more depth then Helldivers 2 here

Re: Crimson Desert PS5 Is Also a Full-On Life Sim Game, Last Deep Dive Video Reveals

StitchJones

@GirlVersusGame I wanna steal fruit as well. I wanna get my teeth cleaned in the game and run out the door when they ask for payment. Hope I don't need a root canal later down the road cause the Dentist won't see me anymore and I'd be out of luck. I'll have to pull the tooth myself with rusty horseshoe pliers. I wanna make a new enemy down some random road, over a crashed wagon of food. Find out where he lives, kick him upside down in his cabin and bed his wifey after she cooks me a hot meal.

Go for drinks in a saloon after a long day of pillaging and poke the guy in the eyes who's looking at me dirty from the bar. Sit back down and tell the waitress to bring me and my team a pitcher of beer every 5 mins until someone passes out, then bring one every 10.

You know, live a typical pillaging, RPG life!!!!

Re: Most of Highguard's Dev Team Laid Off Just Two Weeks After Live Service Shooter's Launch

StitchJones

@Jireland92 yep Concord 2 for sure. And everyone blaming Geoff K for its failure, not because nobody wants more hero shooter slop @Ajbr8687 Def what you said. This sentiment that Geoff botched Highguard is absurd. You are right, the game had 97k because everyone was curious enough to DL it and try after that infamous GA trailer. If the game was fun, people would have stuck around. Now its at 2k current and only 3k-24hr peak and dev's getting laid off. All Geoff's fault right? The game is trash and another hero shooter nobody wanted. That is the only problem with Highguard

Re: Most of Highguard's Dev Team Laid Off Just Two Weeks After Live Service Shooter's Launch

StitchJones

@nessisonett you contradict yourself in your reply. You say it was shown off at a bad time during the GA's, which means if it was properly shown off it would have succeeded.

While at the same time you are saying it was prob destin to fail, because its another hokey her shooter in a crowded market.

To me that means, it does not matter one bit when or where you showed this game off, the real problem is we don't need more live service hero shooters. And clearly nobody wanted this, cause look at the abysmal #'s. So that GA's placement is irrelevant to its demise.

If you go watch podcasts by the more respected people who have been in this industry for awhile now and are not judgmental and give all games a chance, they gave their take on highguard during the GA's and they all said the same thing as soon as that hokey trailer played, showing that putrid art style and generic hero shooter gameplay. They were all like "wtf is this crap?" That was their impression of the game and it matched everyone else's because that slop appealed to nobody and is a bad game. Period. Regardless of reveal placement.

Then when you fast forward to Highguards launch and listen to their podcasts to see what their take is on the game after actually playing it, they all said it was boring and not very well executed by the developers. Show this thing off like they did Horizon Hunters, under the radar and it still would have failed.

Re: Rumour: 'Most' of Highguard's Dev Team Laid Off Just Two Weeks After Live Service Shooter's Launch

StitchJones

@Lavishturtle What i can't understand in this industry full of layoffs is, there's plenty of people who need new jobs every year with all this. Why don't the studios who have been stable for many years, even decades, hire these people and have more than one project in full production at a time? There's no reason why a studio like ND can't make and keep up with a TLOU online game and have interstellar going at the same time. No reason why Insomniac can't give us the Marvel superhero entries and then something fresh, using their insane talents at the same time.

Re: Rumour: 'Most' of Highguard's Dev Team Laid Off Just Two Weeks After Live Service Shooter's Launch

StitchJones

@AdamNovice Here's a better idea. Stop developing games nobody wants. Horizon Hunters is getting bashed already and that game wasn't even introduced in a SOplay, let alone an awards show. Overwatch had great pedigree and success behind it and Blizzard couldn't even get a sequel to that game to work these days. Concord cancelled shortly after release. Bungie the OG of the Halo Series can't even try to get something new in the live service arena w/ marathon. People been bashing Marathon since the beta. See the trend? Dev's are obv too stupid to see this and force their dumb hero shooter or live service ideas anyways, then wonder why nobody is playing them after launch and people get fired. The math is simple. They turn it into quantum mechanics

Re: Rumour: 'Most' of Highguard's Dev Team Laid Off Just Two Weeks After Live Service Shooter's Launch

StitchJones

@nessisonett if a game is good people will play it. if its trash its trash. Look at the hate Horizon hunters is getting and that wasn't even in a state of play, let alone an awards show. People don't want these kinds of games in a crowded space of live service. Highguards #'s keep getting more abysmal because the game is garbage. Simple. How is this remotely Geoff's fault people got laid off? They made a game nobody wanted is why.

Re: Arguably Underrated RPG Blades of Fire Forges Major 2.0 Update on PS5

StitchJones

@AhmadSumadi Explain to me how waxing nostalgically about a game that was meant for the ps3 back then, has anything remotely to do with a game releasing now in 2026, two full gens later, that has a dev team too lazy to use a real engine and the game looks ps3 level??? Any explanation you give will be invalid because your response didn't make a lick of sense whatsoever. You were clearly mad at what I had to say for some odd reason and had to come up with some nonsensical response.

Re: Jaw-Dropping Black Myth Sequel Effectively Confirmed for PS5

StitchJones

@DennisReynolds Yeah, when it was announced awhile ago, they said it was like light years away, so i just coupled it with ps6. Well hopefully since its ps5 it doesn't have the insane input lag probs wukong had from the frame gen stutters. I would hope they would rework the engine to remedy this. However, it is a UE5 game so lmao

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

StitchJones

@DartLOD Oh i totally agree. As long as the studio DOES NOT lay anyone off in favor of AI, then when it comes to these hero shooter, or co-op spinoffs etc, esp the cartoony slop I don't care about, then def offload some work to AI if that means the mainline pipeline stays in a traditional release cadence. We were getting a decent release cadence with Sony first party up until this BS live service, spin off initiative.

The only other option is to beef up the studios and have dual teams under one umbrella. But that was obv not an option for Sony. Do you think maybe the studios don't even want this, cause I would imagine the more people working on a game, the more ways the profits get split amongst everyone right? Or do the general dev's make a base salary no matter how good or bad the game sells?

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

StitchJones

@SlyASpiE Guerilla is a juggernaut for Sony like ND, SP and Insomniac. We are not talking firesprite or Haven. So I don't think layoffs would happen there when you have what will be one of the most highly anticipated games in Horizon 3 in the pipeline. Esp if they decided on ps6. They will prob want that to be the killer app day one with ps6 launch game that will sell consoles. I think Intergalactic will be cross gen and come out first on ps5, but if they reserve that for ps6 can you imagine a day one ps6 launch with Intergalactic and Horizon 3? And dreaming here, but Bloodborne 2 and Kojima's physint as well, but reserve those for launch window a few months later!!!! Pipe dream yes, but on paper that could possibly be the greatest launch lineup ever if materialized.

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

StitchJones

@SlyASpiE as far as them losing $$$$ i don't care. I have no stock in their company. What bums me out is this taking years as you stated and all it did is set Horizon 3 back many years. Its ok to have a stopgap game in between mainline entries. But when said stopgap game (in this case co-op cartoony rubbish) then it just plain sucks and you wish they just made H3. Guerilla was setup to go twice in ps5's life cycle with mainline games if they just stuck to a better plan. Instead they gave us one game, a cartoony BS nobody wants coming this gen and Naughty Dog hasn't even given us nothing so far on ps5.

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

StitchJones

@LogicStrikesAgain When a game that is Co-op, live service, or multiplayer decides to use a Cartoon style its playing with fire from the get go. I think everyone will accept regular realistic graphics and give a game more of a chance, as opposed to the cartoon niche style. Not everyone likes the Cartoony style. So if you're gonna take a chance at something different like they did with this game, just keep it in Decima engine and try to appeal to everyone.

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

StitchJones

@charliecarrot TBH and this is just my opinion, Helldivers 2 did great and is still played heavily today. They should have just made it like that but in the Horizon world. I guess it would be another extraction shooter, but if done right in Decima vs the machines, with all the Horizon vibes, I think it would have the chance to crap all over Marathon, Highguard and prob Fairgames. Def not be up there with ARC raiders in player numbers, but be successful and sustainable for sure

Re: The Internet Has Not Been Kind to Horizon Hunters Gathering

StitchJones

We all know that when the internet is not kind to a game, it turns out like HIghguard, pretty much DOA. In Highguards case I do not care, cause we don't need another BS hero shooter. We just needed GG to work on horizon 3. I love the studio, so it will be ashame if the prelaunch anti-hype screws them out of Millions.

Re: Take an Extended, Non-Canon Look at the Next Jaw-Dropping Black Myth Game

StitchJones

@Simu001 I loved Wukong but I agree with you, there was crazy input lag in that game. When you are talking about Soulslike level difficulty where precision counts a ton, input lag can ruin the experience. I just learned to deal with it and enjoy it for what it was. But hopefully this will be a ps6 game and they'll have plenty of CPU headroom to have it running at 60fps without all the frame stutter that caused the input lag.

But it was a UE5 engine game, so what did we expect right?

Re: 20 PS5 Predictions for State of Play February 2026

StitchJones

@Dan12836666 yeah more then likely. But Ill have to say, if we get more of all that stuff but then they drop Intergalactic on us with a more in depth trailer and some gameplay, all will be forgiven. Its the only game that we know little about that I'm dying to see

Re: Horizon Hunters Gathering Is Guerrilla's Next Big PS5 Game, Horizon 3 Still Years Away

StitchJones

@OldGamer999 Hard to say about Horizon 3 cause this live service thing set them back. But maybe it was planned all along for ps6. we'll never know. And I'm def with you on killzone instead of this Coop Horizon trash. Killzone multiplayer was fun and different from BF and COD. I still remember Killzone 2 online, remember when you scored a kill it made that kill confirmed sound? It was kind of like a squeak-click sound. I still remember that tone like it was yesterday. A new killzone in DS2's ver. of Decima engine would be a banger of a game.

With Halo kind of being trash for ages now since 343 dropped that ball ages ago and BF just starting to get back to form, while COD is finally stumbling, there's much more room and need for a unique 1st party exclusive FPS shooter and its better setup to thrive right now.

I would love a new Resistance game first before Spiderman 3 as well. But it seems like Sony has no interest in a 1st party FPS shooter.

Re: Horizon Hunters Gathering Is Guerrilla's Next Big PS5 Game, Horizon 3 Still Years Away

StitchJones

@OldGamer999 well said man. I tend to like to find the positives in these kinds of things so this is what I'll add. Man this is the perfect time for R* to be on the cusp of a new GTA game and for many reasons. The GTA affect has flooded our libraries with a ton of releases all last year and will be the same this year too. So despite Sony playing this live service card and fumbling on some big studios caught in that mess for now, we still have a crap ton of games to play. And then finally in NOV the beast of GTA will drop which will soften the blow even further. Saros, Wolverine, Phantom blade 0 to name a few in the near future pipeline as well.

So if there was a gaming drought on top of what Sony decided, this would be brutal. In no world should you be 5yrs into your console and your best studio (naughty dog) hasn't released yet and is still likely over a year away with Intergalactic.

And the last silver lining is, as i stated above, the thought of Horizon 3 being built on a ps6 version of Decima does indeed sound F'in awesome. Also, since everyone seems happy ps6 is likely pushed out way farther then 2027 and most thinking ps5 has plenty of legs left, this live service flub aligned Sony 1st party with ps6 launch territory. That would sure up great games at launch for the next gen. Esp if Horizon 3 is a launch game. Maybe Kojimas Physint can be launch day or window. Sucker punch would be far along in their next title by then.

To sum up, since there def is no shortage of great games to play right now and this live service blunder being washed out of their system by ps6, I have 100% faith Sony will right the ship in the coming years and ps6 will be back to the Sony we love.

Re: Horizon Hunters Gathering Is Guerrilla's Next Big PS5 Game, Horizon 3 Still Years Away

StitchJones

This is terrible news. Horizon FW will be 4yrs old this month and its barely being worked on? There was only 5yrs between H1 and 2. So to think that this Co-op rubbish set Horizon 3 back many years is crazy. Same thing with Interstellar. If it wasn't for that TLOU live service that didn't even see the light of day, we'd prob be playing Interstellar by now.

I stand by Sony. They will always be my preferred platform. But they sure are lucky Xbox really crapped the sheets the last 2 gens, or they'd be in deep.

Re: Poll: What's Your Reaction to Horizon Hunters Gathering?

StitchJones

@ED_209 @RobN I agree, most PS fans just want one type of game. Epic AAA single player, story driven games. That is Sony's strength. Its actually perfect when you break it down. If we can only get them to stay focused on that.

PS studios should just focus on giving us the Horizons, Spider man's, TLOU's and God of Wars of the world and just let 3rd party handle the multiplayer, live service, sports, etc. And of course there's still great 3rd party AAA single player games we get as well. Such as Witcher/Cyberpunk, KCD, Hallow knight, Clair Obscur to name a few, you get the point.

The PS library would be just fine that way. There really isn't a need for them to try and be different. They are, and its clearly failing them. Concord (cancelled) This horizon game (lukewarm reception) GOW and TLOU live service (cancelled) Fairgames (TBD but not much faith) Marathon (lukewarm reception) Let 3rd party take all the chances (highguard) and fail (highguard) this way it doesn't push all our single player IP years out.
