Re: More Cronos: The New Dawn Content Incoming, Teaser Suggests

StitchJones

@Metonymy No, I wish I had season tickets. I haven't been to the Garden in decades. I meant watching all 82 games on TV. If I had a wife or a GF, then you have to mutually agree on things like TV time, going out, family gatherings etc etc. Unless you find a diehard hockey fan in a partner, but that's harder in the US. I'm sure most women are hockey fans in Canada.

I'm glad you found someone who's awesome and are happy. At one point many years ago I wanted all that. When you start getting older and older with each passing year, 5 yrs, decade and it hasn't happened, then you stop wanting it, and actually see it as a burden. I have no regrets. I don't try to play God in life.

I would only be compatible with someone who is a homebody. I like to go out on occasion, and I like using the outdoors for a service like walks, exercise and crap, but for the most part I'm an indoor cat.

I love watching hockey, playing video games, music, movies/shows, guitar etc with 90% of my time. If I had a woman and we had to go to some stupid birthday party, or religious event of her niece or nephew, or whomever and it forced me out into a social setting I really don't wanna be in, I would be so miserable. I need complete freedom.

Re: More Cronos: The New Dawn Content Incoming, Teaser Suggests

@Metonymy Its the perfect "in between" game before Saros. I wasn't planning on it day1, just kinda worked out that way since I beat RE:req last weekend and didn't want to start an ultra long game before Saros drops. I want a complete open slate, no half played games after the 30th. Saros will be taking over my pro. I can picture the monkey shines your wife is giving you over video game purchases haha.

That's why I stay single bro and love total freedom. I watch all 82 Rangers games every year and the playoffs (when they make it) and buy whatever games I want, when I want. Never have to answer to anyone. I'm sure there's some rewards to being married and Im happy for you if you are into them. Its just totally not for me.

Re: More Cronos: The New Dawn Content Incoming, Teaser Suggests

StitchJones

@Metonymy I agree on what you said here. I really did like Cronos, I thought it was a really good game. And I forgot so much about it, that when you touched base on its good qualities here, it reminded me of them and I was very agreeable when I was reading your take on them. But that's the thing. When I really like a video game, I remember all its good qualities. It sticks with me for sure. I'm glad you were really high on it though. Its great to have brand new single player IP land these days in this sea of GAAS crap. So Pragmata and Cronos both are so welcome.

I will be there for Cronos 2 day1, don't get me wrong. Not every game has to stick in your memory bank of nostalgia like a TLOU or Horizon to be worthy. Another note on Cronos. I thought it should have won some GA award this year for sound design and atmosphere. BF6 won for that and I understand. Cause when you are playing BF and a rocket RPG flies by your head, along with everything else, the sound is so amazing its nuts. But Cronos did land atmosphere and sound design and then some.

As far as Pragmata goes, I'm about 3 hours in and I'm absolutely loving this game. I want to say so many things about it that are really hitting with me and a few things that are really blowing me away, but I can't. That would be too spoiler ridden. However, I will tell you this, its the birth of a great brand new IP for sure. Its only 12hrs according to reviews, so perfect to fill the gap before Saros. Let me know after you eventually pick it up and beat it down the road and we'll discuss if you want. Would love to hear your impressions.

Re: More Cronos: The New Dawn Content Incoming, Teaser Suggests

StitchJones

@Metonymy @Oram77 I really loved Cronos, it was my Halloween game this past Oct. I think its extremely solid. I think it dragged on a bit, could have been shorter. But maybe that's because supplies were very scarce and way, way more dying then in RE:req.

But IDK, overall IMO, it didn't stick with me. I kind of forgotten about it. I will be there for the sequel no doubt, but maybe its just because it was a safe horror game, with a deadspace like template. In contrast, I'm loving Pragmata so far. That game took some big chances with the gameplay and nailed them.

Maybe Cronos will introduce some fresh mechanics for the sequel, but still keep the vibe. The atmosphere and sound design in Cronos though!!! Top notch.

Re: Metro 2039 Goes Back to Its Roots for Series' Darkest Game Yet, Out on PS5 This Winter

StitchJones

The last game was great and kind of scratches the Fallout itch. However, the gameplay was atrocious and input lag was gross. Up there with RDR2 where the character controlled like a forklift running on a little RC car's electric motor. Hopefully they fix this, because the atmosphere and mechanics are superb in this series.

Pleasant surprise for this winter too. The backlog keeps growing, the dam is gonna break!

Re: Saros PS5 Marketing in Full Swing as Sony Drops Yet Another Trailer

StitchJones

@Metonymy Hey, I want your take on something. Not sure if its just me. But I've been abso obsessed with the Tower. It's all I'm playing right now. But did you happen to look at the leaderboards for that? Dude, I call BS on leaderboards for games like this and I remember Resogun back in the day the leaderboards smelled like fish to me.

The top score on the Tower was done in like phase 60, and is a ridiculous score. I can't believe that humans have the hand eye coordination to post such scores on tower, or resogun or whatever. Esp when the tower throws so many curve balls at you with gear drops, malfunctions, lack of health pickups etc.

You got any take on this? In the day and age of hacking, I call total BS on that leaderboard. haha

Re: Upgraded Roblox Brings 'Smoother Gameplay' to PS5, Amid Increasing Scrutiny Over Child Safety

StitchJones

This game is an abomination to society. Go watch Shaw Ryans podcast where he interviews a guy who guys by the name of "Schlep". Schlep is a victim of an online predator from Roblox. How this game has not been shut down already is crazy. But I get it. It makes a $gazillion dollars a year for many people. And sadly $$$$$ comes before people. Always has and always will. Its all just gross!

Re: Saros PS5 Marketing in Full Swing as Sony Drops Yet Another Trailer

StitchJones

@Metonymy Bro, I have to seriously thank you for something. You did it totally inadvertently, but still. I had no idea about the Tower addition to Returnal until you mentioned here a few days ago. I got this game at launch way back then. Beat it and def came back to it here and there over the years, but I totally didn't even know or pay attention to them addiing anything to this game.

So when you said "Tower of Sypheus" addition, I had no idea what you were talking about and checked it out. I was playing the game straight up and didn't have my old save from base ps5 to my pro, so I would have had to play through to get the grapple hook 1st anyways.

But dude since then, I've been playing the crap out of the tower all weekend long and freaking loving it every second. I rolled credits on RE:req this morning. So I've been totally invested in the tower 100%. Now I'm even more stoked for Saros and didn't think that was possible.

So thank you so much for mentioning that!!!! I had a killer game just sitting here with a crazy good expansion and had no idea haha

Re: Crimson Desert Update 1.03 Out Now on PS5, Get the Patch Notes Here

StitchJones

@lazarus11 you are reaching too. I didn't get wound up. I simply explained how he was dead wrong, calling it a double standard like I was a cyberpunk glazer without really knowing any facts. To take a bunch of words/text on this comment section and put an emotion to it like you are in front of the person when they are saying it, is quite petty. But its used to try and prove a point that just isn't there. So you guys reach and reach and reach.

Again, Hardcore glazers you crimson desert fans man. Gang warfare and all on here. lmao haahahaaaa

Re: Crimson Desert Update 1.03 Out Now on PS5, Get the Patch Notes Here

StitchJones

@LikelySatan you are really reaching for something that's not there. Yes I'm a big cyberpunk fan. Where's this double standard you are talking about? Cyberpunk got fixed, but you have no idea what my opinion was on cyberpunk at the time of release when it was in shambles, now do you? I despised CDPR for how they released that game. That said I'll ask again, where's this double standard you are reaching for that's not there???? yeah, didn't think so. Clown

Re: Crimson Desert Update 1.03 Out Now on PS5, Get the Patch Notes Here

StitchJones

@GalacticHam @KoopaTheGamer @lazarus11 @Andy22385
I know one thing for sure about this game, it has some hardcore glazers. You guys are really rabid apologists for this game for some reason. You got family on the dev team or something??? lmao damn, seems like its something more then just generic glazing. You guys make the ARC raiders crowd look like light weights.

This is typical though for a game like this. Was hyped up by gaming fans and the dev team themselves to be the next great thing. Then fell flat, turned out to be just a solid game, but not nearly up to the hype train it was getting. That just breeds hardcore glazers and apologists. Has been a thing in gaming for decades now

Re: Crimson Desert Update 1.03 Out Now on PS5, Get the Patch Notes Here

StitchJones

@lazarus11 @GalacticHam The game has only been out for 3 weeks and its received a hundred patches already, scrambling to fix the laundry list of players complaints. That's not my opinion, just quoted all the articles on this game and also the dev's statement on the games launch state.

So no, don't be a blind fanboy and bow down to this dev, they shipped an unfinished game. You two are just an apologists. I get it.

Re: You Might Not Want to Know How Much It Reportedly Cost Bungie to Make Marathon

StitchJones

@Zeke68 Should have made this game a single player epic like Halo, but in the marathon universe. Would have helped sales. Not everyone likes extraction shooters, most can get behind epic single player games regardless. The graphics and art style are amazing, gameplay too. The whole mechanics, wasted time and premise that's the heart and soul of extraction shooters is trash

Re: Saros PS5 Marketing in Full Swing as Sony Drops Yet Another Trailer

StitchJones

@Metonymy That's awesome, glad to hear. One of those games when you put it aside and then boot it back up awhile later, you are reminded just how amazing it is. I've been hitting RE:req and then going to some returnal for a bit to end my day.

It's like a comfort food kinda game. No reading a ton of text like in a 2,000 item RPG, no RPG upgrade systems to concentrate on, no conversations with NPC's or vendors to break the immersion. You can literally just sit back with any of your music on the headphones, no in game sound, and just play.

I wish we had more games like that. More arcadey kinda games, but with the AAA budget production

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077 Is Now Utterly Essential on PS5 Pro

StitchJones

Just tried it out and its what I figured. The RTpro mode performs like the old RT mode. 40fps VRR doesn't do enough to smooth out the game. When you pan the camera around, its too juddery and the background has a smearing effect which is nauseating. That made performance mode pre-pro patch the best way to play.

However, now we get a RT mode that indeed runs at 60fps and everything is smooth, with some RT. So for a free patch that's kinda nice. But the fact remains, Sony didn't upgrade pro's CPU enough to give us maxed out settings on games at 60fps. I guess we wait for ps6 for games to finally be full RT, 4k, @60fps

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077 Is Now Utterly Essential on PS5 Pro

StitchJones

I re-downloaded this yesterday to prepare for this patch. And I want to try it out just to see how it looks. But I'm scared I'll get all involved and have to do a 3rd playthrough of the whole game. hahaha I really want to concentrate on completing RE:req and have nothing going on for when Saros comes out.

Re: Starfield (PS5) - Better Than Ever, But Still No Space Skyrim

StitchJones

I put over 80hrs into this on seriesX when it launched. Was a solid enjoyable game, but nothing groundbreaking as it should have been. Had fun regardless of the letdown. But def not worth the $$$ and the hours investment all over again just cause its on ps5 if you already played it on sh**box. So, I'll pass

Re: 'The Result Is Incredible': Cyberpunk 2077's Big PS5 Pro Update Arrives Tomorrow

StitchJones

I rarely play huge games like this twice, but I love anything cyberpunk themed. So last summer I did my 2nd playthrough of this gem. Saros is the priority for me after RE:req. So maybe this summer will be another playthrough of CP2077. I was hoping for full RT at 60fps though. Because the current "fidelity option" with RT on plays at 30 and its so choppy it makes your stomach sick.

Re: Ahead of Arrival on PS Plus, Lords of the Fallen Gets a Major PS5 Update

StitchJones

@Balaam_ It plays great in its current state. Its an amazing looking game as well. UE5 is represented good in this one. Not so much at launch, but now it is. And its just a great game on top, with amazing souls-like atmosphere, bosses, gameplay. And to set itself apart, there's the really cool Axiom/Umbral mechanic. That's all I say about that piece.

I'm really stoked for LOTF2 this August. No doubt they learned their lessons on the tech side and will launch that game flawless. It seems like Fromsoft is kinda in a ditch with their Nightreign and Duskbloods online nonsense. Who knows when we'll get the next proper fromsoft soulslike. So I'm glad we got games like this and LiesOP to fill the void

Re: Life Is Strange: Reunion (PS5) - Twee Mystery Finale Falls Flat

StitchJones

I think this franchise has been in the wrong hands the last 2 entries with Double Ex/Reunion. Don't nod did Lost Records: bloom/rage and it was a very good game. If Don't nod still has the chops to make a brand new IP that captures the spirit of the OG LIS, wouldn't we want that studio still on Max's line of games?

Re: 'The Solution Is to Get Rid of Consoles': Analyst Predicts $1,000 PS6 and a Transition to Game Streaming

StitchJones

Video gaming is the one thing people will go into debt over. Just like everyone needs the new $1k iphone every iteration, when their old phone will be perfectly fine for the next decade. But no, they put purchases like that on their Credit cards when they prob shouldn't. Its the same for gaming and will be the same when the ps6 comes out. $1k or not, rest assured the thing will sell fine.

Re: 'The Solution Is to Get Rid of Consoles': Analyst Predicts $1,000 PS6 and a Transition to Game Streaming

StitchJones

One other thing. The PC master race has touted "just build PC's" for decades, which still remains way more expensive and involved then consoles. The PC userbase is healthy and grows regardless of "price of entry".

So now if the ps6 is indeed $1k, it will still probably be $500 cheaper than the equivalent graphics card only, not taking into account the other parts needed to purchase.

So how are consoles too expensive now?
