Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Year 2025

StitchJones

Oblivion remastered was put out long enough ago to make this list. It populates this list right now and still hasn't been patched, therefore is still a broken mess. So I ask, why is it on this list???

Borderlands 4 too. The game shipped with a memory leak months ago that still isn't patched. hahaha

The GA's need to start 2 new categories for awards "least broken mess at release" award. And "most broken release" award.

@StylesT well said, and I obv agree 100%. Again, the art direction and atmosphere I thought were fantastic. It was a great game, but not generational as we already stated. I excluded this point from my last post because it was getting too long, so I'll add this here.

I think it was also opportunistic this year. Death Stranding 2 on every level was a superior game. If that was not a sequel and was the 1st entry in the DS universe, then we might be having a different conversation. Because as epic as DS2 was, most people who loved it still admit it was a pretty safe sequel and just more DS. Which was an awesome thing, but still.

Yotei to me is far superior to 33 as well. But Yotei is also a very safe sequel as epic as it is. So safe that it didnt even get nominated for GOTY. Silksong, great game but just more HK. Donkey kong? Idk how it made the list over Yotei. But its nintendo and they get glazed hard and everyone needs to throw them a bone because they take 10yrs in between their samey exclusives. whatever......

Also, we live in the day and age that everyone needs to glaze stuff they like, esp in gaming. And esp in gaming where the team who built an epic game is small in scale. They have to love that game above and beyond because they love the studio. Same reason ARC raiders gets so freakin glazed online, it's sickening.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Game Awards 2025?

StitchJones

@themaladroit agreed control looks fantastic, but we knew remedy has been hammering away on that game for ages. The world premieres were just weak. Also, everything is in Space or Asian themed samurai/sword play. Its all getting tired. Esp all the Asian backdrop stuff. Need some new concepts in this industry

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Game Awards 2025?

StitchJones

@Dan12836666 agreed. the last 2 world premieres were something that could have just been shown in a state of play, nothing epic. And why did they have to spend so much time on the BS street fighter movie and all the banter between that whole crew before they can even announce the winner. Dreadful

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 610

StitchJones

@LikelySatan Sweet bro. Yeah, as I said, retro/pixel art are usually instant write offs for me. Esp here in almost-2026 when we have games on Decima engine. But the draw with HM was the addictive gameplay. Nothing is cooler then taking out 4 at a time, with a well placed and coordinated window shot

Hotline Miami 2!!!! Where have you been all my life??? lol

I know I'll sound like i've been living in a cave here. But I always knew these games existed. I just always write off games with retro/pixel art graphics. They are not my cup of tea. But saw both Hotline games on the BF sale sitting there for $2 a piece. So figured I'd be losing nothing just trying. And I'll tell you both of them are fantastic. Addicting, the music, the gameplay. Solid gold

Re: After a Rocky Launch, the Entire Team Behind PS5 Racer Wreckreation Might Be Laid Off

StitchJones

@JayJ Yes agreed 100%. But its the big budget and long times that give us AAA sony masterpieces. There's so many people laid off in this industry, good people. What I think the fix is, don't stray from what they're doing. Like I said, we get masterpieces. They need to have two teams, so at the least, 2 games are in full production at the same time. Give these laid off people jobs for pete's sake.

There's no reason why ND can't have Intergalactic going in full production and then have a 2nd team either working on TLOU3, starting to piece that together, or whatever they chose to come after Inter. So when the main hands on deck have Inter. content complete, but in the bug fixing/polishing faze, they can bounce over to the next project. That could easily cut 2 years off development time. If we got most AAA every 3years, instead of 5 I would be content with that.
