Re: You Can Buy a Fully-Fledged PS5 for the Same Price as a Less Powerful Xbox Series S Right Now

StitchJones

@Jacko11 @Oram77 agree 100% with Jacko. ps3 when launched was $499, took a few years then $299 when slim came out. ps5 was $399 digital $499 disc drive. That's not much of an increase when you compare the CPU and GPU with the ps3. Not to mention the SSD this gen. Gaming really isn't getting out of hand with prices TBH. Even if the ps6 is released at $599, in todays climate that is not pricey considering the tech that's going to be in that thing. Its really only $100 more then the ps3's debut and that was 2 decades ago. And on top, we buy these machines and they last 7yrs (consoles life cycle) there's not too many investments we can make in life for $599 that gets us a 7yr return in usage.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Is Getting Comfortably Outsold by Battlefield 6 in Yet Another Country

StitchJones

Its time for COD to look itself in the mirror and go to the drawing board, but they'll never do it. It used to be a serious themed military shooter. Now its a laughing stock in the atmosphere dept with all the crazy skins. But the skins and micro-trans. make them mad $$$$ that's why they'll never change. MS will also make sure of that.

If BF was an annual game and did this again next year, we'd still keep getting the same cut/paste BS. Unless they go back to their roots I'll never give COD another dime again.

Re: Suddenly the PS5 Pro Doesn't Look That Expensive Anymore

StitchJones

@RawnDawn @TensuraFan7 @Netret0120 @nessisonett yes this whole situation is kinda bad. But when you really break it down, you have to look at it this way, "years received per investment" and also consider the technology advancements and the way graphics look now compared to ps2/ps3. And this gen, the load times with SSD

The ps2 was $299 when it launched, ps3 $499, then $299 for slim, ps4 was $399. ps5 was $399 digital, $499 standard. That really isn't much of a jump when you consider the tech advancement. And again the game changer is "years received per investment". Meaning the consoles life span.

We are averaging about a 7yr life cycle per gen starting with the ps2. That said, there's not many investments in life when it comes to a piece of hardware that give you that many years of life for anywhere between $299 to $499 depending on what gen you are talking about. So its not like we have to buy new machines every 2yrs or we are left out in the cold. We are getting alot out of the machine in 7years time.

I know this is a weird comparison, but in 7yrs time I think i went through 3 or 4 keurig kcup coffee machines, which are about $100+ a pop. Plus other things around the home that just don't last long, cause they build stuff like crap these days. I won't even get started on automobiles lol.

So in the end, gaming really isn't that bad. Its basically the sticker shock that people feel when they hear prices.

Re: 'We Want to Innovate': The Witcher 4 Dev Finds Inspiration in Baldur's Gate 3

StitchJones

they went with UE5 for this game, which is questionable now, since UE5 has turned into a current gen dumpster fire with like 98% of games that use it. So I hope they optimize the crap out of this and delay as many times as they need, so there's not another cyberpunk debacle.

Can you imagine the uproar if they botch Witcher 4 up with a totally different engine, when they decided to use said engine all because of the cyberP debacle?

Re: The Much Maligned PS5 Shooter Marathon Returns for Another Playtest in December

StitchJones

@UltimateOtaku91 yes 100%. its ashame too about ARC raiders, cause the graphics and performance are really great. The atmoshphere and enemy design is great too. For it to have all that and be so shallow in story/narrative and be such a repetitive grind is ashame. I feel they missed on a great oppurtunity with that new IP. but i'm in the minority cause the thing has sold great and has a big fan base.

However, the big question is, how many people feel like we do now? I have no idea, how you could not get burnt on that game after a couple weeks max. So maybe it fell off, or will fall off soon. People glaze that game hard, so we'll see.

I also agree on Helldivers 2. I enjoyed that for a few weeks and it was fun. But there wasn't enough RPG and upgrade systems for weapons and characters in that grind fest. The only thing you were doing basically is upgrading the ships combat capabilities and some of your heavy drop in weapons. The unlock's for characters was a tedious grind of mainly cosmetics and i found that the weapons unlocks were trash. Grinding for a weapon that turned out to be garbage was tedious. It was way too shallow for me. ARC raiders was not shallow on this front, but boring as F after a week. lol we can't win

Re: The Much Maligned PS5 Shooter Marathon Returns for Another Playtest in December

StitchJones

@MFTWrecks I'm with you. I'm not the biggest extraction shooter guy. But Helldivers 2 and Arc raiders opened the genre up to me a bit more. So I'm willing to take the plunge if a game is good.

ARC raiders had me hooked for about a week, then the samey action of collecting the same old junk, with zero narrative/story and the same handful of enemies just got so old. I dropped it and never went back. Great atmosphere, just too repetitive.

So like you, I'm hoping that maybe Marathon can become a thing. But we'll see.

Re: PS5 Testing Slideshow Wallpapers for Popular Welcome Hub Feature

StitchJones

@Vermines hahaha you're preaching to the choir. I'll be turning 51 next month. never marrried, no kids, no GF in 15yrs. And TBH i love that lifestyle. If i have my mind made up that I want to binge gaming for 2 weeks straight because a banger of an RPG comes out, then I want to be able to do that without someone talking in my ear that we need to be doing other crap. Same for hockey. I'm a huge NHL and hockey addict. I watch all 82games of my fave team, each and every hockey season. I can't have nobody chatting in my ear that we got an event to attend and I gotta miss the game. I need 100% freedom in life.

At the same time, I don't scoff at people who have happy families, marriages, etc. If that works for them, then I'm happy for them. Its just not my thing and never will be. haha

Re: PS5 Testing Slideshow Wallpapers for Popular Welcome Hub Feature

StitchJones

@Vermines agree 100%. Elden ring took over my life too. That game was sublime. The DLC was amazing too, if you even want to call it DLC. That was big enough to be its own game. Erdtree and Phantom liberty are prob 2 of hte best DLC's ive ever played.

Duskbloods atmosphere looks good, but the whole fromsoft online push is not for me. Soulsbornes done by the masters themselves would be all single player affairs if it were up to me. But I hope it turns out great for you and anyone else who is digging their venture into multiplayer. I'll just hold off for whatever their next single P soulsborne is gonna be.

My backlog is freaking huge now anyways. I may still have games to complete by the time ps6 and bloodborne 2 arrive. haha

Re: PS5 Testing Slideshow Wallpapers for Popular Welcome Hub Feature

StitchJones

@Vermines yeah, i know it can turn folks feral. but by no means is Sony done with bloodborne. it was too big for it to be buried and considered a one and done. it will not go the way of the order 1886. I just think that Fromsoft are being very protective of it and they don't want it in the hands of anybody else, even though Sony owns the IP.

They have had a lot on their plates the last 2 gens. Elden ring took up so many resources, since it was much bigger in scope then previous soulsborne's. Then they did the Erdtree DLC and nightreign. Now they're working on the duskbloods online game for switch. I think bloodborne got put on the back burner, cause its impossible to have too many irons in the fire with game development.

My guess is since they kinda hinted that they wouldn't want to go the Elden ring 2 route just yet with their next big single player offering, that once duskbloods is content complete, they will start working on a sequel and will be for ps6. one can only hope. but it would be just crazy if they label bloodborne a one and done. Elden ring opened the doors to some casuals to fromsoft soulsbornes too. so a sequel would be a huge event and sell like hot cakes. Sony could use a huge win too after the games as a service debacle and paying bungie all that $$$$. Sony is will be fine, I know it, but a huge win like that would be nice and it would be just stupid to bury bloodborne for Sony and Fromsoft as well. sorry for the wall of text. I love talking about video games lol

Re: PS5 Testing Slideshow Wallpapers for Popular Welcome Hub Feature

StitchJones

@Vermines Yes it was def a stellar game. I think there's plenty more like us. So again, its ashame that funds were given to a game like concord so easy, but they just can tthe order and days gone like tuna. After our talk here, i was thinking back on The order, cause its def been a minute since that game came out. Like you said the steampunk nature looked great but i remember those tall buildings, they were so freaking goth looking too. 2 themes i'm a sucker for is cyberpunk and goth. Thats why cyberpunk 2077 and bloodborne will be in my top 5 of all time prob till i die. lol

Re: PS5 Testing Slideshow Wallpapers for Popular Welcome Hub Feature

StitchJones

@Vermines Ohhhh, I agree with you 100%. Everything you said there. They totally nailed the atmosphere in that game. TBH, when you look at the visuals, atmosphere created, the characters, how historical figures were represented with the weapons, the weapons themselves, to me it was on the level of a ND or def Insomniac game. But as you said, man that gameplay was so bad.

I too think they really had something there. The world was too unique and great to be a one and done game. One of the problems with this industry is if you rub everyone the wrong way with game #1, you never get the budget to try again. I can understand this, since game dev. is costly as hell.

But if you look at it, what would be worse, taking the chance on a game like concord that cost 100's of millions that got canned 2 weeks after launch, or give a studio another crack at a Order sequel? or a Days gone sequel? right?

Re: PS5 Testing Slideshow Wallpapers for Popular Welcome Hub Feature

StitchJones

@Almost_Ghostly yes 100% agree with you. Well i guess the bright side is not too long ago we had zero custom themes on the ps5, now we do. So i guess something is better then nothing. And at the end of the day there's so many amazing games to play on the thing right now and moving forward and thats the machines main function, so.

I just can't understand Sony sometimes. They have to know how us gamers feel about the custom themes thing and know it means alot to us. You would think they would patch the UI to accommodate what the mass majority want. I file this is the same boat as no news on what exactly they are doing with Bloodborne. Everybody in creation wants that game resurrected in some form. Its 10yrs old now and was critically acclaimed. Yet they treat it like it was the order 1886, or just a cult hit and not worth the production time and dev cost. idk man?

Re: PS5 Testing Slideshow Wallpapers for Popular Welcome Hub Feature

StitchJones

@Almost_Ghostly after reading this, I turned on my ps knowing you could minimize the widget count, but I thought it was much more then 2. Turns out you are forced to have 3 widgets. Regardless this whole way of having themes, or screenshots is terrible this gen. as you guys already expressed, your chosen theme gets covered by way too much bs and on top when you hover over a game tile, it takes away your background all together. i guess it is what it is at this point, current gen is 5yrs old now

Re: Don't Expect Intergalactic PS5 to Launch Until at Least 2027

StitchJones

@Jammer lol, the whole argument got totally silly at that point. I tried to inject some humor into it. I think the 3 of us involved were out of line in our own ways yesterday. I try to keep what i have to say very positive on here. I've really enjoyed my short time being on here with you all.

I'm very passionate about video games and very sensitive to this day and age we live in, where hate is spewed into everything so easily. Maybe I jumped on that guy for something a bit too petty. Or maybe I did have a point. Hindsight is always 20/20, but if i can do it all over again, I wouldn't have said anything. So, I apologize for my side of it all. I can only speak for myself though.

Re: Don't Expect Intergalactic PS5 to Launch Until at Least 2027

StitchJones

@Dogbreath you're right and on top of them being friends, if you watch the colin/Neil interview on last stand's podcast, you get the impression that Colin would 100% not say anything unless he ran it by Neil first. In fact he's had a few dev's on his podcast for interviews and i get the sense that Colin would respect their wishes with something like this as well.

Colin is a huge ND and TLOU fan as well. He, like most of us here were disgusted by the whole TLOU2 leak, debacle and ND hate machine that formed after. So I def think his outlook would be that leaking and ND is a sensitive thing. So go to Neil first and get his blessing before saying a word.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (PS5) - The Most Absurd Game in Series History

StitchJones

@Papasears1982 This is the first year I will not buy a COD in ages. I never played any campaign and I've had them all since the first console game COD 2 back on 360. I'm not much a fan of FPS campaigns, just multiplayer. TBH I haven't been happy with any of them in years, but the twitchy multiplayer was my hook.

Battlefield fell from grace but is back big time this year. I was always a huge fan, got it right along with COD when they were good. So BF6 is my jam and COD is dead to me.

The only way I'll ever jump back on board with COD is if they make it a serious grounded military game again (no BS beavis/butthead or rap artist skins) or maybe when ps6 hits and they upgrade the engine so much that its a show stopper. I'm a sucker for games that are eye candy. I just prefer a serious looking real military shooter aesthetic. And beavis skins don't go there

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (PS5) - The Most Absurd Game in Series History

StitchJones

@Jammer Actually when i see him I just think of the show "this is us" which was a really, really great show. It was critically acclaimed. Which doesn't mean much, cause its subjective, depends on your taste, but still. But that show is verrrry far from what COD is. It follows a family through some real life drama. The whole family is the main protagonist so he is main, but not the one and only main. He plays the father of the family.

He was really good in that. I think he's a great actor, but kind of head scratching for this genre of media

Re: Don't Expect Intergalactic PS5 to Launch Until at Least 2027

StitchJones

@SuperSilverback yes, it could be very well be cassetes.. only reason i said CD's is because the way she plays cd's in her Porsche ship, in trailer #1. So naturally since thats her prefered form of media, thats what carries over. And that part of the sword seems more round then square. But thats the joy in all this, its open to our interpretations. However, we both agree its a music based mechanic regardless of what the format is. I think it would be really cool due to the fact that licensed music use is very rare in video games. Putting it into gameplay in a fleshed out fashion that way would be cool to see

Re: Don't Expect Intergalactic PS5 to Launch Until at Least 2027

StitchJones

@Kierant202 the dude don't need you to advocate for his rights??? what are we talking about here? politics or is this a gaming site? lmao hahahaha. I don't think he really cares TBH. As a matter of fact in typical troll fashion, he spewed his negative comment, ignited an opinion war between me and you and he is nowhere to be found with any follow ups or takes on the matter.

Doing that is the epitome of being a troll. He gaslighted with something short and negative then bounced. And I guess he succeeded, because me and you are dumb enough to go back and forth on the matter here. He's probably half way to Maui by now, sippin mai tais

and btw what does account age have to do with anything? Do people with older accounts have licenses to troll on here and/or be jerks scot-free??? cause i never got that memo

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 608

StitchJones

@ErrantRob agreed 100%. I really enjoyed my time with it. It was my Halloween game. Everyones back logs are huge right now. So much has come out. Maybe that's why it got overshadowed a bit. Give people more time to get to it and I think when we get a sequel, the buzz will be bigger then expected leading up to

Re: Don't Expect Intergalactic PS5 to Launch Until at Least 2027

StitchJones

@Kierant202 fair points. I agree on the part you said about being in it for the 3rd party games. However, at the same time you are justifying what he said.

So basically you are saying his comment "So three first party games in 2026, two of them is Marvel and third is roguelike. I'm glad I don't like Sony's games." is a constructive comment, regardless that it is full of needless negativity? Yeah, sorry I can't agree with you on that part of your reply. There are plenty of people who do like Sony and can't wait for Wolverine and Saros.

I would never say that anyone here needs to love/like Sony. But negative comments that are 100% unconstructive are usually just posted to start a bunch of sh** for no reason. Esp when the trouble starter doesn't even like Sony games. Sounds like trolling to me.

Thats where me and you two differ. I'm not into trolling articles, unless i have something constructive to say. I wasn't gate keeping. Comment sections get toxic for no reason. see ya

Re: Don't Expect Intergalactic PS5 to Launch Until at Least 2027

StitchJones

I'm telling you guys, i called this a month or so ago on here. That larger piece right above her sword handle is a CD player, the red soundwaves from the music are all up and down her sword. You collect different CD's with licensed music to insert into that player on her sword handle for different combat affects. Remember where you heard it lol

Re: Don't Expect Intergalactic PS5 to Launch Until at Least 2027

StitchJones

@Vermines me too 100%. ND are magicians. I just wanted a new trailer at the GA's. That was my #1 reason for tuning in. I thought for sure it was gonna be there. But my #2 reason is still worth tuning in. And its just the fact that the GA's have become e3 with announcements. So I'm sure Sony still has some great stuff planned.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 608

StitchJones

@ErrantRob Cronos was fantastic. I thought it should have been nominated for some sort of award this year for atmosphere or def audio design, but its nowhere to be found.

@Gremio108 lol loved your post, cause your family must be awesome man. IDK how you guys can gather around and play any fromsoft game and have laughs while doing it. I'm a huge fromsoft fan, love their games, but if I had kids I would envision controllers being tossed out the windows and plenty of cries, no laughs to be heard hahaha

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 608

StitchJones

Picked up 5 games on the BF sale yesterday. Decided to go with Outerworlds 2 as my next adventure. Played until 3am last night. Loving this game so far. Scratching a certain itch too. It has pinches of cyberpunk 2077, borderlands, fallout vibes. Graphics are sweet, gunplay, RPG systems and atmosphere are top notch!

Will sprinkle some BF6 in there too as my ongoing online game.

Re: 75+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's Black Friday Sale

StitchJones

@Veritas7Ax I know its new to ps5, but I can't look past the fact that its a 4yr old game as well. Should have been discounted way more in this sale I agree. Another one is Borderlands 4. Its only 20% off. I know that game is newer, but as you said, there's tons of new stuff on there. I got MGS Delta and Outerworlds 2 both for a great price. Borderlands remains broken with a memory leak and the best they can do is 20% off????

Re: 75+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's Black Friday Sale

StitchJones

Went live when i woke up this morning and I went to town. I got 5 games all on sale. Got MGS:delta, Outerworlds 2, Metal Eden, LIS:double exposure and Until Dawn(ps5). Had $30 left in psn wallet. So all 5 only cost me $160. Pretty damn good for 5 games!! The back log just got bigger hahaaaaa

Re: Horizon Sales Update Cements It As One of Sony's Strongest Franchises

StitchJones

@Porco how is this argument fact based? The only facts are the dates of the releases. Thats not the argument. The argument is whether or not Horizon is being milked and that is 100% subjective and impossible to be fact based. The fact I misconstrued the years in between you stated is my mistake and 100% irrelevant anyways, because again, this is subjective.

10 people could think that there's not enough Horizon out there. The other 10 people can think its watered down and milked. Another 10 people could think its milked in the wrong ways, cause they only like mainline games and they would be fine if there was 5 of them by now. Which to you would be "milking", but not to them. Because that's only your opinion.

Your opinion differs from mine and that is 100% ok. Thats what opinions are all about. But to you somehow, your opinion is the right one and is facts. That's the only thing silly here. A dude who thinks his opinion is somehow "facts". Pretty pretentious, no?

Re: Expedition 33, Ghost of Yotei Have Started Scooping Up GOTY Awards

StitchJones

I'll just be tuning in to hopefully see Intergalactic trailer #2 and maybe some more great surprises. But I gotta say, when you are playing Battlefield 6 and a RPG flies by your head, into a building behind you which then crumbles, the audio design and sound of it all is truly amazing. haha. Arc sadly gonna win best online game, so throw a bone to BF6 and award the sound design

Re: PS5 Exclusive Ghost of Yotei Is One of the USA's Best-Selling Games of 2025

StitchJones

@Reyzore Well said, everything you pointed out. Its impossible to to truly gauge the traction the haters are getting indeed. Mostly because being a keyboard warrior has been a thing since social media was born. These people have their real world personas and their online personas. I don't know this for sure, but I truly believe this. I believe that these people spewing hate, esp the podcast owners, do it for clicks, likes and sheer shock and awe factor.

And in the end, even though they are calling the game/character/dev slurs, they are buying and playing the game and probably think its amazing just like you and me. Again, don't know this for sure, but just a hunch I'd bet $$$ on.

Because talking nice about things don't work in this day and age for alot of people. Spewing hate and negativity, being edgy with your words and flying off the cuff seems to be what people want to follow.

As far as TLOU2 goes, I thought the game was a phenom like TLOU1. ND are pure magicians to me, esp when it comes to narrative and making the player truly care about every big and little character that enters the screen. I mean this has got to be fact, because if nobody got so uber attached to Joel, then his story arc wouldn't have been controversial like it was lmao

Re: Expedition 33, Ghost of Yotei Have Started Scooping Up GOTY Awards

StitchJones

Yotei out of the two for my money. If expedition was designed as a 3rd person action game and not turn based, then maybe I would have a different outlook, hard to say. But the turn based design takes away from the traditional sense of immersion into the world you get with other games. Combat is just too unnatural in turn based form. Expeditions narrative, story and art direction are fantastic though.

Re: PS5 Exclusive Ghost of Yotei Is One of the USA's Best-Selling Games of 2025

StitchJones

@DennisReynolds True it makes me sick though how many people with podcasts all over youtube had to crrap on the game and ND. Calling them every slur in the book over something as trivial as to how the protagonist looks, the very night of the GA's after the first trailer dropped. ND hate has become a thing and its gross. Did you watch Grounded 2: the making of TLOU2?

The actress that played abby was getting death threats towards her and her son who was a toddler at the time. I mean WTF man???? So heinous and over a video game. Society is so sad at times
