I can't believe fans got what they wanted after 17 years and with all stars aligning for a chance to resolution they wanted, only for them to be blueballed by a story that goes nowhere...
I feel like releasing this will do more harm to Playstation than canceling it without it seeing daylight. Guess we will see a new trailer for it in presumably september SoP.
Tbh, even with every negative thing about Mindseye, it being "GTA killer" was just a nonesense from gamers just because of Lezlie Benzies; we can put the game through the mud for everything else but this one would be very unfair.
Devs never said anything even near to that, because that would be dumb af.
Did anyone catch my answer to Crimson Desert delay with "unless you are really really looking forward too"?
I really really look forward to this one. Not because I am a huge fan but because I can't wait to see it in PS5 Pro and the new benchmark for video games since we didn't see anything better than RDR2 and LoUPII from technical standpoint(even if you don't like those games); from cinematic storytelling too but that's another discussion.
I respectfully disagree mate. If this hobby is not related to your job you almost always have more than you can spend time on in terms of "want to play".
While they could optimize those two games better of course, engine plays a big role too. I am not tech expert but I know that while engines were built they have specific potential usages in mind. And until recent gens devs especially optimized their engines for those genre of games they are known for.
This situation reminds me of times EA's dictate on "Use frostbite for everything, no matter the genre" then a ***** storm of technically problematic games followed. This was in PS3/360 era iirc.
Unless it's a game you are really really looking forward to, delays really don't mean much since we all have endless backlogs and a lot of recent releases.
I have concerns about this game. It being too ambitious feels like will be it's main flaw.
It's always been a title that had – I'm not really a big believer in the long tail theory of the entertainment business – but Civ is an example of that theory.
I am almost %100 sure that it will be very inferior to SGF stream which was the best SGF stream since the inception of it.
It feels like Gamescom is the worst time for exciting stuff since new big announcement could just wait for TGA in just 3 months time and the stuff for fall already revealed so far. I don't think there will be anything exciting in this.
Only good thing is it's reasonable start time for this part of the world.
You should definetely continue with other co-op games. Overcooked All You Can Eat would be a great time for both of you. Games in it are both simple but also so much fun. Teasing each other, discussing strategies, having high fives when you triump etc. all are awesome moments.
Control was mediocre and AWII was really dissapointing. FBC not having any lore hook was a weird choice since it's the only thing that gets me to checkout these games.
I love Max Payne 2. Never played MP1 but thinking about the visuals of AWII New York gets me excited about it. Hope they deliver. I couldn't care less about Control 2.
I can't believe they made a 15< hours game where it get's "repetetive". I am dissapointed about the reception overall, I thought it would be at a least "decent".
My only hope is that I usually disagree about this editor's taste when it comes to games. Maybe it happens again but I am not holding my breath.
Funny thing is DA Trilogy collection with just 4K@60 with some QoL improvements would sell more than triple of DA4 probably and it would cost much less to do too.
I am sad about Dead Space situation, 2nd game's remake and then retold DS3 remake with the right direction this time would be sooo goood.
I tried a few matches on BF6 open beta and I once again saw that mp is really not doing for me in games most of the time.
I will continue to try Returnal 2nd biome boss, I have strange relationship with the game since I was so close the quit but one of my latest attempts ended up with finally reaching the boss.
I started CO-Expedition 33 but only played prologue and while it was a nice intro I don't think it was "gripping" like most of the people said.
I also finished the first world on DK-Country Returns HD, so I will continue with that too probably. My biggest gripe is lack of specific button for "roll". My death were mostly about that.
Hope this is more of a GoW-Ragnarok situation where the main game surprised with how much content and new ways/environments/enemies there is and not Spider-Man 2 situation where it was downright dissapointing with how much it felt the same overall.
I am keeping my expectation low though. I am not fond of the first game a lot and think it's weaker than some of the tentpoles of PS.
I am really curious about how well this will perform. Hope it's good so that we can see the remakes of other mainline games, especially 1&Peace Walker.
I don't hate her but I don't care about her at all, just like Jin Sakai; they are both bland af to me; Aloy more than Jin even. I don't think my perception will change with FW and DLC but I hope I'm proven wrong.
I can say that when I see the dissapointment and reception to this and their previous work of Bleeding Edge and their upcoming project which will be something similar to this probably. We wouldn't feel their absence.
Gone are the days of actual good games like Enslaved, DMC, Heavenly Sword etc. Hell, even first Hellblade...
I remember people were expecting for this to be an answer to GoW with awesome graphics and good gameplay after MS buyout with the increased budget, myself included. Incredible Viking setting, mythological creatures etc. I remember the first gameplay demo being really incredible in terms of the scale too.
Then with every "cinematic trailer" that hope decreased more and more until the truth became apparent which was a glorified walking similator.
MS might close Ninja Theory and nothing of value would lost in terms of the industry.(I am not talking about people losing jobs.)
Like fans said million times: Their live service efforts should be different than the saturated genres. Helldivers II shows that and Marvel Tokon is a good attempt and it will probably will be very successful.
But please don't forget sp story driven games too, I need those.
Obligatory: This generation is the result of Jim Ryan's greedy push and stupid strategy. Who the f**k thought Blue Point making GoW live service was a good idea!? Also Concord is the biggest disaster of last 20 years probably.
As always with this stuff, I will try open beta and play matches with people then won't buy the game itself most probably since I don't have big interest in mp games.
If there is timed exclusivity still, I would be okay; 'cause there is no way things going back how it is but I feel like there won't even be that. And that would hurt "PS first" development of 1st party games a lot.
I am a big Marvel fan but after SM2 I don't have high hopes for Wolverine and eventual SM3 tbh. About old Sony; PS4 generation was still awesome but this gen sucked overall in terms of that "old Sony" feeling.
Anything can happen and I wouldn't be surprised. Not that I am happy about it but it's only getting worse and worse for gamers like me who value what I talked about in the first comment.
More than half of their revenue comes from %30 cut they do. I wonder how they will be able to compensate that if people won't be in their ecosystem/market. I miss "console wars" in a sense, gaming was more exciting in the age of "exclusives".
There is no way BF6 surpasses CoD in terms of popularity/sales/revenue. And from what I see people liked BO6 a lot, so they have some goodwill from that too.

Same. I have all the REs on my account and it feels great since I always think of RE belongs to PS.

Dear Capcom, never ever use the RE Engine again for an open-world game.
Did you hear me? Never!
Re: Halo 3: ODST Content Teased for Helldivers 2, Even on PS5
I have a friend I can play this as a co-op duo. Is it still fun with just friend or you should be at least 4-people team to get the most out of it.
And how much story is there? Or its just there as a reason to shoot bugs/robots etc? How is the variety between missions? Are there a lot of missions?
Updates with new environments and enemy types are free right?
A lot of questions but I hope there are people who are enthusiastic about enlisting new Helldivers for the democracy.
