God of War's Next Main Game Looking Ever More Likely to Explore Egyptian Mythology 1

After decimating the Greek gods and surviving the harsh Norse mythos, it really does seem like God of War is poised to move to Egypt in the next leg of the saga.

A dataminer appears to have discovered some dialogue hidden within the files of God of War Ragnarok, and if it holds any weight, it could be a big clue as to the setting of the next major game in the series.

Spoilers below.

Reddit user TheMorse_ has shared some dialogue scenes found in Ragnarok's files not present in the game itself. Click through to see the full dialogues.

In one scene, a character called the 'Robed Figure' discusses Odin and Atreus, seemingly within the context of the mysterious mask that can supposedly peer into a higher plane of existence. It appears that this is in fact Athena, who appeared before Kratos in an iconic scene from God of War 2018.

Another scene features Atreus, speaking to a character who only says "Mau". Mau is Egyptian for "cat" but can also mean "sun". In Egyptian mythology, Ra is god of the sun.

TheMorse_ apparently did something similar with God of War 2018, in which they found hidden dialogue that ended up accurately revealing some details about Ragnarok's early hours.

God of War's Norse games openly hint at Egyptian mythology once or twice, as well as reveal some kind of higher power above all godly pantheons as we understand them in the games.

Additionally, it's been said that Kratos will wield an Egyptian sword in the next game.

We don't know it for absolute certain, but there's definitely mounting evidence that the series is heading in this direction.
