Publisher Square Enix has announced that NieR: Automata has now surpassed 10 million copies sold worldwide.

To commemorate this impressive milestone, the company has released the following video, which goes over the game's journey and its various related projects over the years:

While this is notable news in itself, the video ends with a mysterious message: "Nier: Automata to be continued..."

This has caused fans to speculate wildly about what it means; some are saying Square Enix has effectively announced a sequel, while others suggest it may just be more merch, music concerts, and other related things.

Adding fuel to the fire is none other than Geoff Keighley, who has drawn more attention to the message in a post on social media:

It's difficult to really judge whether this is teasing something exciting like a full-blown follow-up, but at the very least, it seems Square Enix will continue celebrating the game going forward.
