How does an independent studio even afford to pay its staff wages when they've spent so long making a single title and have no other income? It feels like vapourware at this point and still sounds a long way off.
I don't understand why they couldn't have delayed the Pro until this update was ready. It would have saved a lot of exhausting discourse and been a much better PR story for Sony. Though I suppose we are getting closer the launch of PS6.
I'm not a MH fan but it's actually disrespectful they've waited this long for such a significant performance patch. Fans have been crying out for it for months.
The irony of Rockstar turning into the very company the GTA games used to parody.
It's a shame they seem so incredibly greedy and ruthless with their staff. They are one of, if not the, most financially secure video game developers out there.
I’ve played a lot of games to completion and have yet to get a single Platinum. I’ve just never felt the desire. A lot of them seem to amount to busy work or tedium and I’d rather just play another title.
This is such PR nonsense. The games of the PS Extra service in particular have been really poor lately with more getting removed than added each month.
All of these people in the comments arguing about which company is least consumer-friendly when the truth is none of them care about you and just want to extract as much of your cash as possible.
I know it's trendy to bash Xbox on this site but it's actually a really worrying path for Playstation fans if there's no competition to keep prices competitive and a steady stream of quality first-party titles.
Nintendo having a patent on creatures offering players the ability to glide is insane. Will they be trying to patent gliding with a glider next as it infringes on Zelda?
Would Push Square consider a better format, perhaps a table, for sharing this information like this? It's something your sister sites like NintendoLife do really well. The walls of text are quite dense and not super digestible.
Great to see some positive gaming news stories and job creation in the industry.
Game execs take note: You don't spend to $200m on a game. You just need to deliver a solid, single player experience for a reasonable budget and profit will follow, even if sales aren't astronomical.

Re: New Website Celebrates Okami's 20th Anniversary as Work Continues on Sequel
Would love a remaster for PS5 at this stage.
Re: Beyond Good & Evil 2 Director Passes Comment on Ubisoft's Major Reshuffle
It has to be either a tax write off or money laundering scheme at this stage. Beyond Good & Evil 2 is sadly never coming out.
Re: Judas PS5 Dev Spent 5 Years Perfecting Its Core Mechanic

Re: Sony Set to Delay PS6 Release Date, Claims Financial Report
Good. There is no rush to next gen considering it doesn't feel like we've even fully harnessed the power of the PS5.
Re: Highguard Finally Breaks Silence, Watch the Launch Showcase Next Week
@Max_the_German Apparently they didn’t pay to feature their trailer. The Game Awards producers just really liked it.
Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro's Big PSSR Update Releasing by March, Improves Graphics and Performance
I don't understand why they couldn't have delayed the Pro until this update was ready. It would have saved a lot of exhausting discourse and been a much better PR story for Sony. Though I suppose we are getting closer the launch of PS6.
Re: Hands On: Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Could Be the Series' Best Remake Yet
Excited for this but I'll likely hold off for a bit. I'm not sure why they've released it so close to the I-II remakes.
Re: Major Monster Hunter Wilds PS5 Performance Improvements Detailed Ahead of Next Week's Update
I'm not a MH fan but it's actually disrespectful they've waited this long for such a significant performance patch. Fans have been crying out for it for months.

Re: Star Wars: KOTOR 2 Remake Is Also on the Cards, Includes Cut Content
Maybe they could get one game out before considering another.
Re: Prince of Persia PS5 Remake Won't Be at The Game Awards, Despite Rumoured Release Date
I wish they'd just get on with re-revealing it or else announcing its release date.
Re: Going Platinum #1: Rocket League

Re: PS5 Mega Flop MindsEye Gets a Free Starter Pack on PS Store
@JoeNobody It’s probably for SEO purposes.
Re: Peter Molyneux Very Nearly Became a First-Party PlayStation Dev
What I wouldn't give for a HD version or remake of Populous. A pity it's in EA's bin of abandoned IP.
Re: Overlooked Elder Scrolls-Like RPG Tainted Grail Just Got a Gigantic Update on PS5
It's funny that PushSquare call this overlooked when this is the first article the game has ever had on this site.

Re: Wolverine PS5 to Finally Be Revealed in Next State of Play, It's Claimed
@Enuo Maybe try fully reading the article and not just skimming it. The source is clearly listed.
Re: Lost Soul Aside's New PS5 Gameplay Is Probably Its Most Insane Yet
The combat looks just like FFXVI. Depends on reviews but I'll probably wait for a deep discount or for it to end up on PS Plus/Gamepass.
Re: PS5 Console Sales Surpass 80 Million Milestone, Closing in on PS3
Now imagine how much they could be selling with a few first party single player games.
Does anyone know what the PS4 had sold at the same stage for comparison? PS5 sales seem to have largely mirrored its trajectory so far.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Patch 1.0.7 Out Now on PS5, Adds New Game+, Increases Level Cap, More
I can't wait to pick this up in 12 months time when the game is finished and €20.
Re: Mass Effect TV Series Being Handled by Fallout Production Team
@Jammer Hopefully they're non-binary to really rile up the culture war people.
Fingers crossed for the series, Fallout was excellent so there's a lot of potential here.
Re: PS5 Action RPG KAKU: Ancient Seal Has Real Throwback Appeal
Looks fun but will wait for reviews. October is looking to be a very busy month for gaming.
Re: May 2025 USA Sales: PS5 the Only Console with Growth as Xbox Price Hike Proves Costly
With all the talk of Doom underperforming, it's great to see it ranking at #2 behind a heavily-hyped Elein Ring spinoff.
Re: The Expedition 33 Story Keeps on Getting Better with 'Unusual' Sales Increase
@Ilyn I can't imagine anything more tedious than sitting through a "review" that long. Sounds like they need a good editor.
Re: PlayStation Thinks Its PS Plus Games Are 'Improving' Every Year
This is such PR nonsense. The games of the PS Extra service in particular have been really poor lately with more getting removed than added each month.
Re: 'I Feel Like a Total Fraud': Actor Charlie Cox Reflects on Expedition 33 Success
It goes to show how incredibly talented he is to it all done within four hours. His voicework in the game is excellent.
Re: Two-Week Holiday, Bonus, Switch 2 for All Lies of P Devs After Game Sells 3 Million Units
Nice to hear of video game creators being treated well. Western developers could learn a lot from them.

Re: Hands On: MindsEye Is a Boring Mess
It's funny seeing this pretty scathing review whilst Mindsye has banner ads promoting it all over the site.

Re: 10 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for May 2025 Announced
Wow this is a dreadful month for all tiers.
Re: Xbox's Forza Horizon 5 Is Selling Extraordinarily Well on PS5, Surpasses 1.2 Million Copies Since Launch
When this title alone has now pocketed Microsoft an extra $72m (1.2m x $60) then it's hard to argue with their multiplatform approach.
Re: Palworld Is Being Forced to Make 'Disappointing' Changes to Its Gameplay Due to Nintendo

Re: Almost 2,500 Top-Notch PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in New PS Store Sale
@tangyzesty An oddly passive aggressive response. Forspoken was just a dud.
Re: Almost 2,500 Top-Notch PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in New PS Store Sale
Calling titles such as Forspoken "top notch" is certainly... an interesting approach.
Re: Despite Babylon's Fall Failure, More Online Games Could Be Coming from PlatinumGames
They will not learn their lesson until the doors close for good.
Re: EA Confirms Heavy Layoffs, Titanfall Game Cancelled
Yet all the high paid execs, the one’s responsible for poor business decisions, will keep their jobs. Disgusting.
Re: Mar 2025 USA Sales: Assassin's Creed Shadows Is the Second Best-Selling Game of 2025 So Far
Great to see AC doing well, if only to silence a certain section of the internet.
Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PS5) - Daring, Quirky RPG Is an Absolute Must-Play
Super excited to pick this up. Really hoping the Oblivion release doesn't hamper its sales.
Re: Intergalactic PS5 Game All About Faith, Religion, and 'Being Lonely'
Sounds great, even better if it angers people for no reason.
Re: Ubisoft 'Confident' Assassin's Creed Shadows' Imminent March Release Date Will Stick
I'll probably sign up to Ubisoft+ to try it out, not the biggest fan of the AC series but Shadows looks super promising.
Re: CD Projekt Red Staffing Up for Studio's First Original Game
Isn't Cyberpunk their first original game?
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Is Simply Stunning in New-Gen Features Trailer
As someone who's not a huge fan of the franchise I must say this is looking incredible. Think I'll give Ubisoft+ a 1 month trial to check it out.
Re: 35 PS5, PS4 Games You Should Grab in PS Store's Planet of the Discounts Sale
This is an excellent article, thanks Push Square!
So many great deals here. Doom and Wolfenstein are essentials at that price if you're a shooter fan, same with Rayman and Spyro for platformers.

Re: State of Play Confirmed for Wednesday, 40+ Minutes of PS5 News and Updates
I'm expecting it to be 35 minutes of live service slop, followed by 5 minutes of cinematics for AAA releases that are releasing in 2029.

A gaming business exec actually talking sense? Now that's an oxymoron.
Re: Shocking: Square Enix Says Dragon Quest 3 Remake Sales Actually Exceeded Expectations
Are you sure it's not a type? Square Enix and exceeding expectations is an oxymoron.
