Considering they revealed this as some sort of MMO, the best thing Ubisoft could do is scrap it and start all over. Fans loved the original because it was a solid action-adventure game, not some totally different genre.
I really wish Push Square would work on the formatting of these articles. It would be so much easier and more appealing to read in a list rather than paragraphs of text. Your sister sites Pure Xbox and Nintendo Life are doing it so much better.
I recently finished this on Game Pass and while it's not a bad game the reviews were definitely very generous.
@Ward_ting I definitely agree on this point. I feel my biggest issue is that whilst you can upgrade your powers it never really feels like you're getting any stronger against enemies. It made combat very tedious.
I really wish Push Square would work on the formatting of your articles so they weren't such a wall of text and you could more easily see which titles are featured at a glance. Can you take some notes from sister sites Pure Xbox and Nintendo Life on it please?
Instead of updating this every week could you perhaps give coverage to an indie game or game you wouldn't otherwise cover? GTAV does not need more promotion.
@ShogunRok I thought the level-scaling was one of the better features of Extinction. It meant the game never became too easy and you constantly had to be on your toes unlike a certain other monster-catcher which has removed basically all challenge over the years.
@Kidfried I'm not sure there's any need to call articles on the charts click bait and question journalistic integrity. Nobody is forcing you to click and it clearly states they're physical only. Data is limited on UK (and US) sales charts so I'll take what we can get.
@RogerRoger I'm not sure how it was "mind-boggling stupidity" to release an exclusive title that appealed to the core audience of one of the best selling consoles of all time.
This gameplay looks... perfectly fine. It could literally be from any 3D Sonic game from the past 15 years.
I absolutely loved the base game but the strategy with the DLC has been really odd considering it doesn't even feature the same characters. I may pick it up at some stage but after putting 40 hours into it already I need a break.
Total side note but I really wish Push Square would make quotes easier to read like on your sister sites. Having them be separated from the text in italic would make browsing the site so much easier.
@Kopite The first game was pretty terrible but Impossible Lair is a drastic improvement. I'd rank it up there with Mario, DK and Rayman as some of the best 2D platforming this gen.
@NemesisSam30 You cared enough to comment. I don't think I've ever seen such a pretentious 'ReAL MuSiC iS StRaIgHt OlD WhItE MeN WiTh GuItArS' post on here.
Great tip, didn't realise you could do this. With no PS5 stock for a long time it'll be handy to have a ready-made library of games when I can eventually find one... in 2023.
@Wormold You mean the only decent film from the trilogy where they tried to expand the universe, try new things and have actual character development? It's not perfect but at least it wasn't painful fan-service.
@sanderson72 Most games are now retailing at that price though and the PS4 version was still £40-£50 so I'm not sure it was really the issue for poor sales.
I played this on Switch and really enjoyed it. The whole game is fairly easy but the post game content, consisting of about 15 challenge levels, is tough as nails.

Re: 21.7 Million PS5 Consoles Shipped by End of June 2022
Another strong quarter given the stock challenges. How much had PS4 sold at the same point in its lifetime?
Re: Our Survey Says! Sorry, Gaming Isn't Good for You After All
Gaming also isn't bad for you. I guess it just comes down to personal preference in terms of what people like to do in their spare time.

Re: The Abysmal XIII Remake Gets a Huge Overhaul in September
I mean it's better late than never but it's taken them nearly 2 years?!
Re: Here's What the Card-Based Combat of Marvel's Midnight Suns Looks Like
@themightyant It was initially announced as card/turn-based RPG so it's not Firaxis' fault you chose to ignore that fact.
Re: Sony 'Not at All Finished' Growing PlayStation Studios via Acquisitions
@shgamer Thirsty for attention much?
Re: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Protects the Precious on PS5, PS4 This September
I just hope they aren't rushing it out to coincide with the Amazon Prime series.

Re: Spider-Man Games Could Have Been Exclusive to Xbox
@LiamCroft Is his name Ong or Org as you use both in the article...
Re: Final Fantasy 7 News Planned for Game's 25th Anniversary Next Month
I don't see any sort of announcement happening until XVI is released.
Re: Sony: Acquisition of Bungie Represents a Major Step Forward in Becoming More Multiplatform
Considering how much Sony resisted cross-play this is an interesting change of heart from them.
Re: RPG Outward Gets Definitive Edition on PS5, Out Next Week
I'm shocked it was first released in 2019 considering how janky the graphics look.
Re: Rumour: Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio Reboots Among SEGA's Super Game Plans
Dear Sega, instead of waiting for these games to release and fail, maybe just remake the originals or direct sequels that people actually want to buy?
Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Is Free For the Weekend on PS5, PS4
I'm really interested in this but the timing couldn't be worse.
Re: Dying Light 2 Has Found More Really Big Numbers to Boast About
The small d*ck energy of their socials is weird.
Re: Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection Out 28th January on PS5
@Vivi-Gamer It's literally stated in the article:
However. the versions offered through PS Plus are not part of this offer.
Re: Rumour: Beyond Good and Evil 2 'Still Several Years Away'
I really can't see this ever coming out unfortunately. It doesn't help that it looks like it has absolutely zero to do with the first game either.
Re: Kena: Bridge of Spirits Patch 1.11 Is All About Hats and Bug Fixes
I've been waiting for the physical version so it's a shame some of these bonuses are time limited.
Re: Still No Release Date on Great Looking Little Devil Inside for PS5
It looks intriguing but I have absolutely no idea what the gameplay involves.

Instead of updating this every week could you perhaps give coverage to an indie game or game you wouldn't otherwise cover? GTAV does not need more promotion.
Re: Rumour: Konami Planning Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Castlevania Revivals
This all feels a bit too good to be true and like a fan dream... we can hope!
Re: Mini Review: Nexomon (PS5) - A Cheap and Mostly Cheerful Pokémon Clone
@RubyCarbuncle The sequel was released on consoles last year.

Re: Final Fantasy IX Animated TV Show Announced
This sounds like something that will never see the light of day due to "creative issues".
Re: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania Targets PS5, PS4
That is some ugly boxart.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced at Ubisoft Forward?
@MrGawain Even an update would have been great, it feels like it's just in development hell at the moment.
Re: Necromunda: Hired Gun (PS5) - DOOM Rip-Off Broken Beyond Belief
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi The game came out yesterday accordingly to the little infographic on the right.
Re: Days of Play Sale PS5, PS4 Deals - All Discounts on PS5 Games, PS4 Games, and Accessories
PS Plus is being discounted from June 1st for those waiting for it. Last year ShopTo undercut Sony so worth keeping an eye out.
Re: Crash Bandicoot 4 Dev Enlisted for Call of Duty, Er, Duty
This doesn't bode well for the future of the Crash nor Spyro franchises which is a real pity.
Re: Open World Action RPG Genshin Impact Is Out Now on PS5
Can you transfer over your save from PS4?
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 Detailed, and It's Absolutely Massive
I'm planning to buy it in about 6 months when it's £15 and patched to the same standard it should have been released in.
Re: Immortals Fenyx Rising: Myths of the Eastern Realm Expansion Is Out Now on PS5, PS4
I absolutely loved the base game but the strategy with the DLC has been really odd considering it doesn't even feature the same characters. I may pick it up at some stage but after putting 40 hours into it already I need a break.
Re: Second Immortals Fenyx Rising DLC Out in Just a Few Weeks on PS5, PS4
@Ajazbo How are you so close to the Platinum after only 5 hours? It's a huge game!
Re: Rumour: Is THQ Nordic Teasing a Destroy All Humans 2 Remake?
@Ichiban remastering everything except TimeSplitters.

Re: Godfall Primal Update Out Now on PS5, Adds New Endgame Content, Loot, and More
This will be a PS Plus title within the next few months for sure.
Re: Cult Strategy Comeback Spacebase Startopia Sets Coordinates for PS5, PS4
Looks fun, this genre is having a great resurgence of late.
Those quotes in the video made me laugh though, were they really the best they had?!
Re: Reminder: You Can Claim PS5 PS Plus Games Even If You Don't Have the Console Yet

Re: Immortals Fenyx Rising Patch 2.0 Out Now, Adds DLC Support, Haptic Feedback on PS5
@legalstep It's already pretty cheap, it dropped in price only two (!) weeks after release.
I've been putting a lot of time into it and really enjoying it. Shame it looks like sales have been pretty poor.

Re: The Resident Evil Series Has Now Sold 100 Million Copies Worldwide
No Resi 4 sales? Considering how many platforms its been released on I thought it would be the biggest seller.
