No matter how you feel about the game, it seems Crimson Desert has been a massive hit.
The single-player, open world action adventure, from MMO studio Pearl Abyss, launched last week to a fairly mixed critical reception, but in less than a week, it's achieved more than three million copies sold.
That figure comes from a recent update shared on social media:
The game reached the two million sales milestone on its first day, and now on day six, it's added another million on top.
"We are grateful to share Crimson Desert has sold through 3 million copies worldwide," the statement reads. "To everyone who has stepped into Pywel and shared this journey with us, thank you."

Pearl Abyss also pledges to keep updating the game based on player feedback. "Your feedback continues to help shape the experience, and we will keep working to make the journey ahead even more enjoyable for our players."
Indeed, the team has been updating the game rapidly with some pretty major changes to counter early complaints. It seems very committed to getting Crimson Desert to a good place.
With PS5 codes not arriving until launch, our review for the game is still incoming. We hope to have that ready for you soon.
