Don’t expect to see Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake at The Game Awards.
The title – which is apparently due out on 16th January, according to reliable snoop Tom Henderson – had been touted for an appearance during Geoff Keighley’s event next week, largely because it seems logical for Ubisoft to open pre-orders soon.
But writing on X (or Twitter), the official Prince of Persia account ruled out a reveal in response to a fan hoping for news.
“Sorry to disappoint, but can confirm Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time won’t be at The Game Awards this year,” the spokesperson said.

To be fair, Henderson’s original rumour never confirmed an appearance at The Game Awards, and he merely suggested it would make sense with a release date expected so early in the New Year.
Our guess? Unless plans change internally, this is going to be a shadow drop, with little to no build up from Ubisoft prior to release.
The French publisher could always announce it outside of The Game Awards prior to Christmas we suppose, but given the game’s long development cycle we just get a feeling it’s going to keep this quiet until it’s practically available to buy.
Let’s wait and see what news the next few weeks bring, shall we?
