Mass Effect 2 PS3

The Fallout TV show from Amazon Prime is sharing its production team with the in-development Mass Effect TV series, it's been revealed.

One of the biggest shows ever on the streaming service attracted overwhelmingly positive reviews upon its release last year, and now the Fallout production team β€” from a writing perspective, it appears β€” is putting together a Mass Effect TV show.

This information comes from an Instagram post from Daniel Casey, who is serving in a writing and executive producer role on the project after writing Fast & Furious 9. In the post, he said: "We have a great pilot script and series outline, the team that Amazon has in place (same team as #fallout including the fantastic @scottfarris) is incredible. Standby for further updates."

Besides involvement from Casey and Star Trek Beyond co-writer Doug Jung working as a showrunner, very little else is known officially about the Mass Effect TV show. With the Fallout TV production crew seemingly at the helm, though, it seems to be in safe hands.

Last year, the debut season (which did more than well enough to greenlight a second one) attracted positive reviews and a large viewership on Amazon Prime. In our own review, we said: "In accurately capturing the overall direction of the games, it forges a new path the series can take without a controller in your hands, all the while replicating its tone and bringing back those classic tunes you had hidden away on your iPod more than a decade ago."
